Kind of a neoclassical piece. Constant blast music is like a kind of trance (not edm) music. I initially wanted to incorporate big dissonant chords here, but it didn't turn out that way. I’m still hearing something in my mind, so maybe I can do it for the next song.
For this one, I learned some new aspects about dynamics using a loudness analyzer in post. The session was way too stressful on my 2015 macbook pro CPU, so, using my new found knowledge, the next should be much less convoluted with unnecessary processing. I never freeze tracks in Ableton because I need to have the ability to create and edit as I notice things or have ideas.
After uploading and comparing, I noticed a lack of mid-range and poor automation on some lead instruments, so it had a lot more work to do. This was one of those ones where I had to adjust, export, check, notice a problem, adjust, export, check, notice a problem, over and over and over... This is exactly what I'm working to avoid. The previous Graephyre 5 songs were easier, but I didn't focus as much on dynamics. Focusing on dynamics adds another layer to the engineering side, but is definitely worth it, and soon will make for better sonic quality with less processing. This one took so much work on the mix that I didn't notice how much it needed to be edited down. The original version was about a minute longer.
