Hearing this and then watching Double or Nothing 2024 is very creepy. Copeland’s elbow drop looked very scary and I hope his legs, feet, and ankles are all ok
Fast Forward to Edge jumping feet first off the cage and breaking his leg 😂 I don’t understand why he didn’t do a splash instead of jumping straight down on both legs hahahah
It's like he started to go for a splash and then, at the last second as he was starting to jump, he realized that he was about to dive on barbed wire, and instinctively pulled up, causing him to land on his feet instead. That's the way it looked to me.
Edge knows what he's talking about, when he says it hurts more on the person giving the move. He just broke his foot for landing on his feet, while jumping from the top of the cage.
Dominick's scared face from when Beth phoenix glamazon slammed him on that black briefcase in the background 😂 did anybody else notice that? That's hilarious 🤣

The Matt Hardy/Edge rivalry involving Lita is my favorite rivalry of all time. I was way more tuned into this rivalry than the Cena/Angle rivalry at the time. It was bonkers each week.
While I don't respect championships in WWE because they're not won through true competition but instead won based on who the writers/WWE decide, I do respect the guts of the Superstars who do moves like this, you couldn't pay me enough to climb that cage let alone doing a leg drop from that high up. Superstars truly do sacrifice their bodies for the money they earn and for the applause of the crowd.
One of the important rules in wrestling that goes unsaid is that you never bring your problems to the ring. You never put the other guy in a position to be hurt, no matter your differences. Because by the end of the day, everyone is trying to make a living and when performing for the audience, it has to be professional.
This is the main reason why I never understood wrestlers who do other wrestlers dirty. The level of trust required for them to do what they do can't be overstated. So when you screw someone over and then have to work with them, you have to trust them to not only do their job, but to resist temptation. In any given match there are dozens of opportunities to shorten or even end someone's career and play it off as an honest mistake. "Sorry for not catching you on that dive; I missed my cue. Shame you'll never walk again."
In the slowmo u can see Matt land it perfectly, so much so that edge didn't even flinch... Matt must have taken at least 90% of the bump to the tailbone and leg
I’ll say this, I was never a real big Edge fan but you can’t have anything but respect for two guys that, despite the very real personal nature behind all of it, put that aside not only for the business but to remain professional and keep each other safe
Seeing that leg drop again makes me think about X-Pac/Sean Waltman talking about a time he stepped in when he thought the writers were misusing/abusing the Hardys with repeated high risk spots in the late 90's on a podcast.
Honestly, that entire rivalry was Bros Before Hos. They could have refused it. Matt could have walked away from the company. Edge could have said "I don't trust him not to kill me". But they went ahead and did it, even with the obvious emotional complications. And they put on a series of spectacular matches that drove both men to the pinnacle of the industry. You can't do that if the trust isn't still alive, if the performance doesn't matter. Especially not with two high fliers like that.
this was a storyline where you can only say - you had to be there. literally if you didnt tune in back in the day you missed out on gold... even if it only lasted a short while.
I was lucky enough to see that show live! Edge/Hardy in the cage was by far the best match I've ever watched in person. I also added to my dislike for Hulk Hogan during Unforgiven 05.
