Catoctin Creek is in my home town love it I get it all the time! When I give a whisky gift I give Catoctin Creek.
Purcellville is one of my favorite VA towns. Market Burger across the street from Catoctin Creek is one of my favourite home in the wall eateries.

Just got back from a visit to Virginia while on a trip to visit fam around my old stomping grounds. A stop in to Catoctin Creek in Purceville was a must do. Had a nice visit to their tasting room and grabbed some bottles including these two. Now that I have several of them and had a chance to enjoy a bit, I LOVE the 92 as probably the best rye I've had or it could the the Virginia bias in my blood. Even at that, damn good rye! Just wish it wasn't an 8 hour drive away.

Daniel I knew we were kindred spirits, I too had overalls and a rat tail when I was but a child. I'm thinking of bringing it all back with the way 2020 is going... I haven't been able to get a haircut in 10 months.
This gets a like for quoting ‘Wu-Tang vs. Shaolin’. My absolute favorite king fu movie, period.
Really like what comes out of Catoctin. The baking spices are so easy to pick apart in their whiskies.

Love Catoctin Creek. I found some in South Carolina last summer. I still one of their cask strength, special releases or something. I cannot ever find it in my area.

I'm hoping to visit Catoctin in a couple weeks when I go down to visit my 99yo Grandma. I grew up in this part of Virginia and have heard great things about their whiskey. They have a maple finish barley malt that's supposed to be awesome as well. I'm not sure what's going on in Va with the virus though. I should come home with a basket of bottles if luck be with me.

@@BruceRose Yes Sir. Was there middle of October. Nice little place in an old Va town. Unfortunately they were out of the maple finish rye but brought home a half dozen of the Roundstones and some of their Brandy's as well and enjoyed a tasting flite. There's a wall of windows in the tasting room that look out into the distilling room, very cool for my first trip to one of these. Truly a family size operation with super friendly folks.
Anyone else read the descriptions of the videos to get a different set of "tasting notes"? Alex or Fancy Dan, whoever is responsible for the magnificent description box, keep on keeping on

Here's an idea for a video: among the easily available bourbons, find 4-5 that are very different. I'm aware of bourbons' more limited taste range, but I'm sure you two can come up with an interesting selection.

texas roadhouse is a pretty damn good steakhouse for not being a fancy place. i went to Austin land and cattle last weekend and it was good but it wasnt 40$ for a 12oz steak good. roadhouse wouldve been half the price and is just as good.
