      good night moon what I meant was, I thought the V6 was the choice for pros...the 7506 has enhanced highs and can be hard to handle, whereas the V6 is not and may actually bring out things just slightly in the mids that’s especially helpful for studio work. I’ve owned the V6.

    I broke my V6 doing a detachable cable mod. Maybe not the M50x but I'd say a detachable cable is a must have if it has a studio length cable. I had them for 6 years before modding so I'm not too upset about it.

    Sir, straight off the bat I found yr' video good - a lot of comments here about the sound quality of yr' vid - for me you can't always have things perfect - just listen a bit more intently and make allowances - important thing is to get the jyst of what yr' saying and the message yr' trying to get across - yr' simply saying, consider studio monitors for personal listening - I like to look outside the square when I'm researching and making buying decisions, that's why I've been researching studio monitors for personal listening - my reckoning is that the people designing studio monitors are going to put more effort into how they sound - recording artists and professional mixers are going to be more astute when it comes to particular sound quality (they know what they're looking for) I'm planning to give MDR7506 a shot - thank you - greetings from Philippines

    • @stopthrm
      @stopthrm Před 3 lety

      yeah, that's what I've heard about the 7506s as well. They're meant for critical listening and are primarily used in broadcasting/recording studio. I've had the ATH M40s and while I love thier sound, they get to be heavy over time as the little clamping force that they have tends to wear out (unless you have a larger noggin I suppose). I've briefly tried the V6s in the past and even purchased them for someone as a gift. IIRC they're really light to wear and the sound signature was something that I thought that I could do for everyday listening or extended listening. It might just be me, but I think that personal use headphones should be good for long listening sessions without fatigue or ear ringing. Something that runs a little hot on the treble kind of defeats the whole purpose for me.

      @jopar3292 Před 3 lety

      @@stopthrm Just to add that I bought the Brainwavez Sheep leather pads for the CD900 ST and the sound is much improved - more well rounded and balanced (from the point of view of listening to music) In terms of using them as monitor headphones in the studio then they work particularly well in that regard. The engineer who tuned them took years to get them how he wanted them ! He tuned them to let you hear exactly what is 'heard' at the microphone. Pads can often make or break the sound signature of a headphone

      @mikeb.7845 Před 4 lety +1

      I have both the 50x and the 40x and I enjoy the 40x model more. Of course it all depends on the quality of the player they are coming from but overall the 50x are a tad too "dark", meaning they are overly bassy and not as clear in the mids and vocals as the 40x. The 40x is more of a nice neutral,clear and precise sound without giving away any bass or crystal clear sound. The 50x sound a little wider (soundstage) but not enough to really make me change my mind. This is a subject that you will never get a straight answer, it's all subjective but this has been my experience for 2 years. If you have an extra $75 get the ultimate Sennheiser hd600.
