Frank is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon, who discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank and his terrifying sidekick, Clara. Frank's uniqueness lies in the fact that he makes music purely for the joy of creating...and because he wears a giant fake head. After a rocky start, Jon ingratiates himself with the band members, and they retreat to a cabin in the woods to record an album. As his influence waxes, creative tensions mount, and the band's entire raison d'être is called into question.

I hate how they try to make it seem like a comedy when the movie is actually really dark.
It is a comedy, its a dark comedy. its not funny to most people unless you appreciate this sort of humor
caz dark humor is very niche. it's hard to enjoy because you don't come to appreciate it, you're just born with that kind of taste.
i actually found it hilariously funny and sad!appreciative smile followed by a wistful tear😢

Saw this weeks ago. This and Boyhood are both two of the best films in the last 10 years. It is so incredibly funny and depressing at the same time. Plus the music is fantastic!
I agree with Frank, I disagree strongly with "Boyhood", that movie is dull and forgettable.

So that's how Magneto and General Hux met. Through music and a bigger helmet head to block Charles Xavier while his going to Texas. I'm pretty sure Hux already ditched Kylo somewhere.
This movie made me laugh like crazy, but I did cry a bit in the end. Top-notch stuff. Maybe a little weird for your average audience, but it was clever and funny with some great writing and acting.

Why do you always describe the actors in the film instead of the Director or writer, the people who actually made the film? We can see who is in it from the trailer and it is impossible to predict a good film or not by the actors, even the greatest actors have done and will do a few bad films.
They do it for clicks. Most people have no idea who directors are unless the director is incredibly famous on the level of Spielberg or Kubrick, etc..

Bojack Horseman, but t's not so much a movie, as it is an animated series on Netflix. It starts out feeling like just on ok adult sitcom, but gets a lot deeper as it goes. Also, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Jojo Rabbit, both Taika Watiti movies.

You are correct, but last time this trailer was released it was for a film festival. This is for the limited U.S. theatrical release and it will be shown in Sweden and other countries soon.

I've been wanting to see this movie since I heard about it. Thanks for your comments because you explained it's not a comedy. I finally watched it and wow! It's not a regular movie at all but it's so damn good. It's kinda like Being John Malkovich. It's deep, strange, and beauty weird. Watch it!

Having learnt more about the real Frank Sidebottom over the years, this film is super confusing.
It'd be like having a movie called "Daft" about the story of two robot helmet wearing South London rappers winning an all-expenses trip to New York and breaking big. The characterisation and premise isn't inherently bad or anything, it's just a weird decision that doesn't really reflect the real deal (and there's more of a shame to that here vs. this fictional Daft Punk film, because 99% of people who watch Frank have no idea who Frank Sidebottom was; this film works to overshadow him)
I was hoping it would feel more like “Frank Sidebottom’s Proper Motion Picture”. But it isn’t.

Jon did nothing wrong. He had what you might call "business acumen," for lack of a better term, at least compared to the others. He was the most conscientious (as Brits tend to be). The rest of them were "Bedlamites" (to borrow a term from the Brits) who were unable to focus their energy into something cohesive. In Big Five terms, they were all higher than average in Openness to Experience, but only Jon had even a normal level of Conscientiousness.
This preview misses the entire point of the film, lol. Frank is one of the best films ever.
