Strangely, this is probably one of my favourite videos of the many I have watched by you. Free form content suits you well!
Hi, thanks for the walkthrough, loving this laid back Podcastage2 style of yours. 👍 Understanding your view - which is way more pro than I could ever look at the mics you‘re reviewing - I actually think there is a specific use case where it is currently very much worth buying: that use case being if you are a solo podcaster (with a well-treated room) and you want to invite 2 remote guests, recorded on separate channels with the 2 loopback mixes mentioned at 24:35. A week ago it would have been true for the 1 host/ 1 remote guest scenario as well, but Rode slide tackled onto the first place with the (much cleaner and more useful) Rode Connect. The next option for having 2 remote guests recorded in multitrack would be the Zoom P4, but with adding a mic it would actually set you back with around 400 altogether, which is more than twice as much as this. I think though that it will not take too long for Rode to enable a second Virtual Channel in Rode Connect and then all I said above will be outdated.
Enjoyed this video. Lots of fun with the setting.
I've leaned more about mics thanks to your channel. I do watch others along with your channel to get a more rounded view of different mics. I did just purchase this mic , it's now 99 bucks with lots of software which I felt took it over the top of the competition at 99 dollars. Only mic/sound pro's like yourself can really tell the difference and nuances of different mics . I played guitar many years on stage and the average person could not hear or cared about if I was using a tube amp. The tone was in my hands , like the tone of a mic is in the voice. If you have a crappy voice and using a NOY-man you'll still sound crappy.
Would you consider doing a rundown of the (limited) audio editing in LumaFusion?
Unfortunately, my situation keeps me from owning a laptop. So I’m stuck with iPad and iPhone options. Thanks.
He had entirely too much fun making this
holy frig! Podcastage2....d'oh!
Here is what I think of the Revelator io24 after extensive use over 3 months in a daily studio - and vocal coaching environment:
It's one of the most innovative products especially the loopback function...BUT it could be truly amazing:
My wish list is the following:
1. Better Preamps
2. More ins and outs
3. A Deesser!!!
4. More Fat Channel Plugin Options. (Even if you have to pay for it...)
5. Ability to insert plugins on the Master Channel for a more polished finished sound for streams. (I know there are workarounds, but it would be great do all that within the Revelator environment.)
6. And finally: This all enclosed in a hardware unit....like the Rode Rodecaster Pro....or one of their mixers.
Revelator could be amazing...is already a very innovative product.
Thanks for this. You were right (in your members-only podcast) about this microphone not necessarily being "worth" a slot in your weekly full reviews on your main channel. Somehow I was dazzled by the gimmickry, or just driven by curiosity, and bought this one just for grins. I should have waited for your video :^). The "broadcast" setting is OK, the rest is basically a playtoy. Although as you've said before, the concept of software enhancing the hardware's functionality may be a good thing of the future. I do keep a USB mic nearby as a 2nd mic to the SM7B (reasons are complicated), but I've gone back to the Samson G-Track Pro (on a mic stand) for that.
I was so disappointed in the mic from what I thought I was getting from their video
Any more comments on Revelator USB ? I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive with USB...
@@cthulpiss damn I'm torn apart between this and AT2020USB, both are $60 now
I'm curious if you are going to review the new dynamic version based off of the PD 70? If you do could you please do a sound a comparison of this version and the new.. I got a great deal on this version, but the microphonics are driving me nuts. I don't have enough money right now to get a proper set up with a USB audio interface and a xl mic. The included software that this comes with is really filling the void, especially the Studio One version 5 with some pretty good plug-ins. I bought an A7WS knock off windscreen that helps, but I'm curious if I should trade up to the new dynamic version. I'm a big fan of your reviews, in fact I bought my son a Motu M2 and the original Neat King Bee for graduation almost two years ago, based off of your review. As a musician I really appreciate you including singing, and electric & acoustic guitar demonstrations.
haha the basket ball court joke was funny though.
Love your channel and this video. What microphone are you using? Thanks.
Very Cool review, i am using a UX2 by Line6 with Pod farm to have realtime compressor and EQ and think about changing to the interface they have. Are there any other DSP Interfaces at this price range featuring basic audio effects for live broadcasting?
I'm really enjoying the Starbucks rant in the middle of this Presonus Revelator software walkthrough video.
I would love to know…what is your top pick for a usb mic???
I’m looking for software to add some effects to my mic (not a presonus revelator) to sound better on videoconferencing calls. Any tips on what I should look at? Is the presonus revelator software available for download to use with other mics?
I, for one, appreciate dumb jokes. Thanks.
Hey, thanks for the walkthrough. I would appreciate so much if you can help me. I was going to buy a blue yeti x pro but I have an m1 macbook air and i read that there are compatibility issues with Ghub. I want to record music and since I am a beginner I would like to use a USB mic. Do you think that the yeti is still a better choice than the revelator even without the Ghub app? I am not an expert by any means but even I could hear that the condenser was all over the place in the video.
Thanks in advance.
This was a fun video
I love to see this set with the re20 setting up mine with cloud lifter at 27 gain give me alot noise 😢
Hello, I'm using shure mv5 and I was thinking of switching to mv7 recently, but when I saw this microphone, my mind was completely changed. Would you buy mv7 for the podcast or this microphone? :)
I have a Revelator... first thing I did was getting a different stand and a shock mount :-D And Americano is apparently called as such because after the 2nd world war in Italy American soldiers there prefered watered down espresso. I do as well I drink them all the time :-)
Hysterical. I was cracking up, but also learning a lot. Thanks for the good humor. Meet you in the shower.
Hello, thank you for your videos, I installed revelator it seems that is getting the sound of the voice, but I can not hear anything, please advise. I am also using the headphones Beringer BH480NC but I can not hear anything with them too. Have a good day
What is your choice of usb mic sheesh which 1 from you should we pick
Have you done any in depth videos like this with Elgato Wave 3 mic and its onboard or included software?
Thoroughly enjoyed this video as it can help people know WTF the options and effects do and how to appropriately adjust the settings according to their voice! Bravo !👏🏼
Lol on another note keep the shower curtain closed so that nobody follows you into the shower and Don't Drop the Soap!
Also, the Sound effects you mentioned are from the Spoof Parody Movies Bunch Scary Movie series so some might have been imitating that instead of the original as you "effect"ively mentioned here!
The whole Wassup and Freestyling Rap Scenes should give you Cool Fun relaxation from all that hard work on the videos! This Freestyle looked like you had the most fun out of the videos I've watched of your reviews!
Stay True Stay You Remain Brutally Honest and Yep Don't Forget to Have Fun! Take Care and God Bless! 👍🏼🙏🏼

I drink Americano coffee all the time. Usually the iced version. It’s usually popular at the Korean coffee shops.
Can you save reverb settings on a pre-set?
doest it remember the EQ settings so I can get it to my Linux station?
Can this be used for live sound? Output to PA speakers?
Which system is your relevator connected to, Windows or Apple
Can you tell me what the software you're using in this? I can't seem to find that same one you're using.
I can recording voice with effects in real time?
Will this work only with the Presonous Revelator or also with other USB Microphones? Can you connect and use more then one Revelator (hint: Røde Connect 😉)
only revelator.
lol... love ur content!
I hope this comment is seen:
How did you get that software? I bought the microphone, and it came with Studio One 5 Artist, but I cannot find the software you are using to control the microphone.
13:45 You should have said “Greetings Earthlings, my name is Bandrew, and this is what I says”... what a missed opportunity
A little info on Americano:
There are a few different unconfirmed origins, but an Americano is a very over diluted cup of coffee: a single or double shot of espresso with 16 ounces of water.
Hey everyone! I have a question: The mixing software for the revelator iO24 Universal Control never shows up.
My Revelator IO 24 is physically functioning ie., I can control the sound level from the physical device just fine.
The problem is that "Universal control says "No Devices available and the revelator software mixer never appears on my screen.
I'm using M1 Pro Macbook Pro.
OS: Sonoma 14.2.1
I have a high-powered (7,500 MA powered) HUB as well as plugging in Revelator Direct.
Has anyone run into this issue? I have messaged Presonus through their only support channel (support tickets) multiple times to no avail.
Is this a faulty issue with their software? I've uninstalled and installed numerous and even older versions of their software all to no avail.
Does anyone else use this revelator with a Mac successfully?
Have you run into these issues too?
I would love to be able to use all the abilities of this DA converter unit.
Funny thing. is that the reason I selected this unit was due to the advertised software functionality.
Any helpful advice is truly welcome.
Thanks in advance!!!
Stupid question...Where can I download the Revelator software? I bought a mic second hand and the only download I find with Presonus is for Studio One.
liked that Friday the 13th ref
LMAO... the moderate gate is more aggressive than the high setting (which barely clips the first spoken sounds, unlike the moderate setting)
the compressor sounded all over the place
I love espresso...quad Americano, please...
I was looking for a real time autotune effect...
Definitely better than the PD70, and even Q9U, although given the fact that its still a condenser mic, but the software functionality is nice, but does it beat the elgato wave 3 when compared in terms of sound quality on an unprocessed level, or the nt usb, bcz i am seeing a trend thats gonna be in fashion now, that mic + processing software bundle targeting streamers and podcasters, but people like me who don’t use onboard processing that much or don’t like using it that much, are just interested in pure raw sound that a mic is capable of produce, but i do have a positive feeling about this one, however, its a condenser, and again, in untreated spaces, its gonna have the same issues as the others have, but still, definitely better than the Q9U or PD70, i know, again, both dynamics vs this one a condenser, but yeah it does sound better, but is it better than MV7 on usb, that needs to be compared
The desktop stand is horendous kek, but the mic awesome. It's has an even more precise DSP than the new Yetis, truly a perfect starting mic to get a good sound and a hand into the audio world. If only it had better looks.
"kek" your power level is showing
this is the voice of god speaking LMFAO!!!!
Necesito este video en español :'c
English is easy. Learn it.
@@domantlen6231 spanish is even easier =)
"Good on you Universal Audio for making such an interface..."
But it's actually Presonus though, but okay 🙂
He is referring to 1176 compressor I suppose.
@@seslan Yes, but misspoke the brandname.
I thought it was a bit funny.
Poop scoop? Poop? Yes, scoop.
So, when are you really going to review the Presonus Revelator ??
Wrong. I laughed. I now want one just for that.
Is this a beta? The software is a complete mess. Compressor makeup gain all over the place, limiter programs are wack, the worst EVER LA2A sim. The attack, conditional release, everything is completely wrong.
Lots of potential, I guess. Features for days, a few of them even work. So surprised to see Presonus let this out with so many fundamental and preventable flaws. Your slapstick approach is appropriate, as in - get serious Presonus!
It's why I didn't put it on the main channel. Not really something that seemed as good as it did on paper.
@@Podcastage2 The deuce is where the fun is.
@Podcastage2 - for all your overly nasally EQ'd self-deprecating Starbucks rants!

It’s at least interesting.
We need more dumb jokes.

Yo Bandrew, I think it’s time for you to take the next step in your CZcams career by starting beef with another CZcamsr. I will gladly fill that antagonistic role for you. I’ve got a vid coming soon. It will blow ur mind. I’ll LYK when it’s ready.
0/10. Uninterested.
meet him in the shower
Bass 🎏 boost. Lol.
can i use this software with the presonus 24c?
