    WOW!!!!!! This one is FANTASTIC!!! I love that they have 3 ceiling vents as well. Wash/Dry prep was BIG TIME thinking!
    Are any/all of those vents pre-wired to install fan units if needed?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Před 5 lety +3

      If they aren't, then piggybacking wiring from a nearby light fixture isn't extremely hard.
      Obviously bath fan is wired up since there's a fan there.
      Something I've become a fan of is the Heng's Vortex series. They install in an existing vent instead of needing you to remove the factory installed vent. I don't like modifying factory stuff.

    Canadian fan here. Love your videos and I love this trailer! I found out there is a 2020 Open Range Light LT260rls with exactly the same floor plan. What would the differences be besides price? I don’t see it on the Highland Range website.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Před 5 lety +1

      The "light" is basically like a trim package on top of the "Ultralite." The differences are generally minor and typically things MOST buyers don't see as critical "for the money" features given what the ultralite already brings to the table.
      * Different Stainless Sink
      * Different Graphics
      * Frameless Windows
      * Solid kitchen counter vs. thermofoil

    Im concerned with seeing the plywood seams under the pvc roofing. Looks like it would "wear badly" under the pvc liner. Any word on how that roof is doing today?

      I do not know on this specific RV, but man I've seen a LOOOOT of used RVs in my career and haven't see that being an issue.
      Most MFGs also put a layer of seam tape across those areas to help keep that edge smoothed out

    Hey Josh..what is your opinion on towing this with 14 ford f150 supercrew SB with 5.0 ltr..tow capacity 8200 lbs...The popular youtuber Big Truck Big Rv stresses never tow a trailer with any half ton that has a gvwr over 6000 lbs. He also advises not to tow trailer that is more than 28 feet long total length with a half ton

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Před 5 lety

      There's absolutely no reason the vehicle you described wouldn't be appropriate and safe when towing this trailer assuming proper hitching and brake controls. Half-tons vary far too wildly to offer a blanket statement regarding their capacities.
      Every truck/trailer/hitch combination is like a thumb print. They look similar, but are best examined individually.
      I respect *EVERYONE'S* opinions when it comes to towing. Erring on the side of caution is never the wrong answer. I also feel it's important to forecast your specific intentions before allowing a general recommendation make a decision for you.
      We would be more than happy to dive into it all a little further. Give our team a call at 800-256-5196 if this or any of the other models we offer would be of interest to you.

    Hey Josh we really count on you for the real scoop on the units you review. I wonder if you can check wtih your contacts at Highland Ridge and verify that the 2602RL reviewed here in fact has a 58 gallon gray tank? All of their literature say this has a 29 gallon gray and a 58 gallon black tank. That makes NO SENSE. We even directly contacted them (the factory) and were told that it is 29 gray and 58 black. I see that you have it here with a 58 gray and 29 black - which makes perfect sense. We are seriously contemplating ordering this model as it fits our needs perfectly, but if it truly only has a 29 gallon gray tank - that is a deal breaker. I hope you can find something out and that you will have time to respond. We truly enjoy ALL of your videos and you have been very instrumental in our education.

      I snag specs off the MFG's sites when each unit is recorded. I think Open Range had some errors when I happened to snap-shot those specs. Here's what they're posting currently which makes a lot more sense:
      Dry Hitch Weight (lbs.) 715
      Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) 7,400
      Cargo (Gross) 1,410
      Exterior Length (Overall) 31' 3"
      Exterior Height 11' 1"
      Exterior Width 8' 1"
      Exterior Width (Slides Out) 11' 4"
      Interior Height (Overall) 6' 9"
      Fresh Water (Gal.) 51
      Gray Water (Gal.) 58
      Black Waste Water (Gal.) 29
      LP Capacity (lbs.) 60
      Tire Size 15"
      Awning Size 21'

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks Josh - I see those specs for the UT2602 - however for the equivalent Open Range Light LT260RLS it shows just the opposite. I have to believe that it is simply a mistake as having a 29 gray and 58 black makes no sense. In addition every other model in the Open Range Light line has 58 gray, 29 black. We are interested in the OR Light (or Mesa Ridge Limited) in this model due to the ability to option in a King Bed. Our ultimate build would be OR Light LT260RLS with theater seats, king bed and 12v fridge. If we can get OR to verify the 58 gallon gray and 29 black, I believe we will probably be ordering one after our big trip this fall (3 weeks in Utah and Texas). Would have loved to have one before the trip but Covid got in the way... Our current unit is the Mesa Ridge Light MR2710RL (2018). Thanks again for the info!! Love your reviews.

      @@JoshtheRVNerd And allows optional King Bed :-). So how do I know all of this - It's all thanks to the informative (and entertaining) Haylett RV videos by Josh the RV Nerd.
      I sure wish Highland Ridge would up their game with their social media (and website). I wonder if they take into consideration just how much "shopping" is done online. Without online resources - RV shoppers are really limited by what their area RV dealers carry. For us Highland Ridge has the best "bones" of any of the major brands (affordable brands). No carpet, whisper quiet air, Equa-Flex suspension, no floor vents, 15 year roof warranty, etc. (ok an upgraded tire - ie Goodyear - would not go unnoticed...). So again if they had a better social media presence it would make it much easier for us "consumers" to communicate with the factory to let them know what we are looking for and for them to keep us up to date as to changes they may be making. Highland Ridge especially seems very slow to update their website with new model years, etc. I don't even know how to get this information communicated TO Highland Ridge, so I post it here in hopes that they may follow your channel - as I am sure you have sold many units for them - either directly at Haylett, or many many more that folks saw HERE on your channel, but bought locally. When we get ready to think about our LT260RLS purchase I will be contacting Haylett to see what you can do - even though my local Highland Ridge dealer is barely one mile from my house.
