I actually like Starlight's and Trixie's friendship more than the main six or the young six. Because Trixie and Starlight have a more realistic friendship. It's not 'Oh we can conquer any foe as long as we're together', their friendship is more like 'We have our disagreements and differences, but we come back stronger after every fight'
I love starlight glimmer honestly I really like redeemed villains, especially when they slip back into their old ways from time to time. makes them more realistic. also starlights heel face turn was very well executed imo i like that it took her time to be really redeemed and she had struggles in the beginning.

Something I really liked about Starlight is her more realistic approach to all the show's lessons. We constantly see her struggle trying to apply the lessons of the Mane 6, and sometimes even returning to her villainous ways by accident, but her past makes her great at relating and becoming friends with characters the Mane 6 didn't get, like Trixie or Maud. I always liked MLP but Starlight's inclusion really made me love it. And even after all this time it's her episodes that I end up rewatching the most. She truly is best pony. Thank you for making this video ❤

So in the end j just gave up bothering about. When I found mlp later j thought I had the chance of a real magical friendship but it all crashed very much the same and know I am in the end sitting here mostly alone and feeling a lot sympathy for starlight where people with rose tinted glassed can't or don't want to. The toad to friendship is sometimes a long and hard one that has to be started over and over again. That changes a men, makes him closed of and distant and at least I know I am represented with characters like star light
I can relate. I've had a few friends before, but they've all left or we lost contact, so I can sympathize with you, and Starlight. However, I am sorry they left you, I'm doing the same- just kind of stopped trying to make friends after all that, plus trust issues from other not so good "friends." I hope you can maybe see them again, or make new ones, though I get how hard that may be.

Also Starlight was filly and probably a similar age to Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootalo when Sunburst left to for that magic school. Starlight isn’t a baby because a baby doesn’t know to how to write until they grow into kids
As much as I have a favorite spot for Fluttershy, I tend to gravitate towards Spike and Starlight, for the gaps they've bridged. Starlight allowing Trixie a true chance to fit in, and Spike allowing Thorax to experience friendship, both done despite who their past's define them as (maybe Thorax less since he was always extremely against aggression). These two characters often help ground the scenes they are in, especially when they treat Spike with more respect after a couple of seasons. I just feel like Starlight and Spike deserve their places in the show, for who they are and grow to be.
As I remember when she first appeared as a villain I didn't really pay attention to her but since the final of season 5 and the begining of season 6 something just clicked and she definitely became my favourite character. I like it about her that she's smart, powerful and talented so she colud have suceed very early in life (for example in the magic field) but she was lonely and lost. She needed guidence and support to develop. It shows how important relationships can be. Even if they don't allow you to have some sort of rainbow powers they sometimes help you shine as a person. But they're not always easy and they might need hard work put in them to last. This is also why her friendships were quite reletable.
I relate to starlight so much on a deep level. my social anxiety is a lot like hers I think. it kind of hurts sometimes to see people who say they hate her, because it feels like they are saying they hate a part of me. I act a lot like her fairly often. and like, I do understand it as far as season 5 goes but after that...? I don't see a good reason to literally "hate" her. you can not like her but hate is a little much.

I have acted out in fear of abandonment and rather showed anger than how sad I really was. It felt too vulnerable. So when people didn't like that Catra was redeemed, or was excused by those she hurt, and that Catra got to be with the one she loves, it felt like them saying _I_ could never be redeemed, and that I didn't deserve love or to be excused.

The only thing I wished for was some 1 on 1 episodes with her and a mane 6 member that isn't Twilight. There was always someone else with them. Here's a crazy thought, what if it turned out that Starlight Glimmer was actually a direct descendant of Starswirl the Bearded(he might have had a child with someone but never found out about it), which might explain why she had such a nack for wielding powerful magic.
I am on the side of that I believe that the only way to "defeat" Starlight, is to befriend and reform her. She was more powerful than Twiligh, and she wasn't even an alicorn! There's no way they could have punished her, and there's no reason to when someone's already learned their lesson. I think a good line for this would be, "Don't wash a clean horse, it will just make them dry."
Starlight is my favorite character in MLP because of everything you said and also because her redemption arc perfectly resembles what it looks like to be saved by Jesus.
I did have issues with Starlight in Shadow Play since she has to understand that not all villains will change like her and that when they attack, heroes has to defeat them to save the world with no redemption and thankfully in Seasons 8 and 9, she now takes villains more seriously and help out to stop them and not repeat it from Shadow Play. Overall, I like Starlight Glimmer as a character.
Not this being the thing making me see I relate to Starlight a little aswell when she never appealed to me while watching. I did love her friendships though, they show you actually need to put effort in and that yes some can be irritating but it doesn’t mean that they don’t truly care about you (Trixie and Discord are the examples of this). Also I loved the fact that Starlight is the only other pony Discord considers *his* friend apart from Fluttershy because of the effort she put in with him.

Starlight was such a wasted character there was no point for her even to be there she was never part of the mane 6 and only saved equestria once and her being twilights student was wasted and pointless because starlight graduated too early and never got to become twilights top student like twilight was Celestia’s and become an alicorn technically starlight has the magical potential to be one and was literally one of the most powerful unicorns in all of equestria becoming the only one villain to truly get close to succeeding to defeat twilight and her friends and take over equestria something that all of the other villains failed to do and once her studies were complete after not being twilights student anymore she was more or less just pushed aside and made a side character never even gaining an element and joining the mane 6 🙄 Starlight deserved way better 😞❤️
