Tips For Using Partner Training Tools:
Focus Mitts: When hitting mitts save your mitt holders elbows and keep the punching power for the heavy bag. Use this time to focus on speed, accuracy, and timing. For holding mitts, don’t hold them out too wide, keep them tight and give just enough resistance so that you don’t punch yourself in the face. Mitts provide a great workout for practicing blocks, head movements, and footwork, but they also provide great brain fitness for memorizing combos.
Striking Sticks: Accuracy is key when working with striking sticks and a holder wants to always avoid hitting too hard so that they don’t hurt their partner.
Pool Noodles: Pool noodles are great for holders to throw strikes at their partner without hurting them. They are also useful for practicing footwork.
Paddles: Paddles are a great mix of focus mitts and pool noodles. They work well for practicing distance, speed, and not jamming your partners punches. You can also incorporate kickboxing and other mixed martial arts elements with paddles and not worry about the possibility of injuring your partner.

Great content, you can also incorporate boxing gloves where the trainer blocks the punches like in a real fight scenario. That is the most realistic pad work or drill as the student is aiming exactly at the head and body.

The paddles also have a hidden attribute and that is if you are a heavy puncher it will force you to maintain balance in your core throughout the combos as you dont have the same resistance as the pads

Coaches tend to push their mitts too far out to meet the punches. It is ok sometimes in a warm up, but doing that too much will have your fighters punching at half-length and not utlizing their full reach.
