      Football fans in that era are much more humble than today. When they see that defender injures Ronaldo, nobody calls death threats to the defender, meanwhile today you see when Ramos injured Salah, everybody say death to Ramos. Football fans of today are so cowardly and soft they felt the need to villify any defender injuring their beloved player without realizing football in the 90's are so much more brutal. Shameful.

    Ronaldo's kneecap popped up into his thigh after the tendon snapped. He had an underlying condition called trochlear dysplasia, which meant he had unstable kneecaps. Without that condition Ronaldo would have been the greatest of all time; but unfortunately with his explosive speed and underlying condition, this type of injury was inevitable.
    Thankfully his knees held up for the 2002 world cup, and it shows remarkable bravery to play football at such a level when he must have known the injury could happen again. He injured his left knee in 2008. Such a shame.

    • @ass640
      @ass640 Před 5 lety +62

      Yeh its horrible... I believe I have a similar condition too, but I also believe that its a lot harder for me to get this kind of terrible injury due to the shape of my legs. i get dislocations quite often where I can't play football for 8 weeks... but my legs are V shaped with the knees pointing more inwards, so I think because its so much easier for my knees to dislocate there's a much lower chance that i could tear my cruciate ligaments, or for anything to actually snap. I have shattered parts of the meniscus cartillage in my left knee, I actually heard the pop too, but it turned out there was absolutely no ligament tear, which is odd but lucky. Also had ligament sprains in my left knee too, and twice in my right knee. I hope my theory about my bone structure's advantages and disadvantages are correct. I'd be more than happy to occasionally be injured for 8 weeks due to a ligament sprain if it means I can avoid a horrible 2 year injury like that.

    From what I’ve read, the problems with his knees came from his time at PSV where he was given a treatment at a young age that gave him knee dysplasia. This causes the tendon that allows you run, dribble and chute to become unstable. His knees where unnatural in comparison to his physiology. Thus, this injury was bound to happen. I think Ronaldo was also rather heavy for his abilities.

The only title he didn’t win was the champions league. In the amount games what he achieved as wining titles and awards there is no comparison from Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo at that age. I have also said about r9 to win the dor or player of the year was a lot harder to win because all the top players were equal.

Zidane was another one to, Zidane won the World Cup, euro, won the champions league in his first year and score the winning goal and was also the highest player to be brough. Zidane came out of retirement for the World Cup in 2006 and got them to the final. Zidane knocked out Spain, Portugal and Brazil. You look at the teams with the big names and individual achievements them players won that Zidane beat is insane. This include World Cup winners, champions league winners.

At age 20, Ronaldo aIready surpass Messi/CR7 by a huge mile and was rightfully awarded the Ballon d'Or. I have no doubt in my mind Ronaldo Phenomenon will win 10 straight Ballon d' Or if he stay injury free throughout his career, that's how good he is. Sometimes i think God unfairly gave Ronaldo injury because Ronaldo is just too good to be playing in human level because his football skills are from another planet, his level is like alien compared to normal human.
