Where does Mike Leigh get his amazing understanding of women? I adore his films and all the wonderful female actors. Love, love him!

I'm falling in love with Sally, she's like the actor version of P.J. Harvey.

What a thorough and heart warming interview. Also wonderful to hear the interviewer mention Los Angeles Plays Itself, one of the most important films about Los Angeles, documentary or otherwise. Thanks for uploading!

I love Mike Leigh films, Happy Go Lucky is in my top 3 of his films. Recently somebody commented that his films look down on the working class or in someway parody them as comical characateurs , as somebody who grew up on a council estate I find that perspective totally wide of the mark and insulting. I can relate to the characters and know and have known people just like them.

As much as I adore Sally Hawkins, I cannot watch this movie. Not because of her character’s inability to not be annoyingly cheery. It’s because Eddie Marsan’s character reminds me exactly of the unhappiest person on Earth... me.

I like it because of the nostalgia. I was a happy kid when it came out. I love cars and seeing a Mk1 Focus reminds me of better times. Now over the years I have turned into Scott..😂
