This is how I make my soft BANKU - Fante style Etew - step by step guide

- Ghana etew, Fante style banku, softest ever (made with fermented corn dough only, minus cassava dough). Will never harden over time, as per usual etew character 🤗! Simple technique I used will demonstrate how to achieve the softest banku/etew ever!
Fermented corn dough recipe:
Measure equal amounts white corn meal, and yellow corn meal. Add enough pater to form a dough. Mix well to ensure there are no dry spots. Cover top of Dough with a cling film and leave at room temperature to ferment over 7-10 days. Then portion into ziplock bags, label with date made, contents, and store in the freezer.

Maame Fante woama me k)n ad) etew yi. Growing up, one of the very few street foods that came into our house was etew from a Fante lady in Obuasi central. I can never forget the taste and aroma of her etew. It has some smokiness to it. Oh so good! Thank you onuawaa 😘😘😘
🥰🥰🥰 childhood memories are always amazing to remember, you will see the little bright smile on your chin.
That smokiness comes from the firewood, the intentional burning on the bottom, the daades3n cast aluminum pot, and all that love🥰 you took me straight to some of my cherished Fante land memories Onuawaa 🙏🥰
Etew! The bane of my childhood. My dad loved it as much as I hated it. He ate it with a fork and knife, typical fante man. I always wished it would be softer but my loyal mum would not desecrate her recipe with cassava dough, 'twas taboo. Thanks for sharing. I'll send her the link.
Awwwww, loved your comment! Thank you for sharing 🙏❤️
Love the Mfantse epilogue too. Done us proud again. I am definitely SHARING this video.
Awwwww, bless you 🙏💕
Thank you for helping me know how to make etew.

Hello Nannaba, Love your recipes. I wanted to ask when making this banku, you mention adding pater; what is pater?
Ingredients are water, salt, and fermented corn dough🙏🥰
Thank you so much, may You continue to be blessed and sharing your knowledge with us all.🌹😍
Nana, I am married to a Fante! 😀. will try this the next time I make banku❤❤.
Awwww, Sianorkie ❤️ proper greetings ooo!!!! No wonder you cook from your heart! 🙏❤️
@@NanaabasKitchen awww😀😀❤❤❤❤❤
Yes Friend! I am here for this chop time! What a glorious feast. I did hear banku was quite hard I guess that's why I never tried it before but seeing this soft version from my one and only International award winning chef.....I am definitely going to give this a try one fine day when I get my hands on some corn dough. It looks soft and pliable which is good. What soup do you typically eat with it in your Fante tribe Sis and can you make some palm nut soup in the near future? (I slipped in a request🥰). Thanks my Sissy, love you loads. ❤❤❤
I’m here for you always sissy❤️ I love your request🙏 I’ve an updated palm it soup coming up soon! Special for you Efa!!! Love you sissy 🙏🥰
It’s often paired with Fante Fante (fisherman stew) I shared the recipe not too long ago 🙏🙏 I love it also with grilled fish as premiered in the video.
@@NanaabasKitchen thank you so much my Sis, what an honor! I look forward to the palm nut soup recipe, it's one of my favorite soups. I remember the Fisherman soup, they definitely would pair well with the Etew. Love you Sis, have a blessed day 🙏🥰❤
If I get this, this afternoon I will bless it 🤣
