  • I had a Land's End to John o'Groats group ride.
Set off on the Honda CT110 that I previously rode around the world. Sadly the bike had better ideas and seized.
Swapped out for the Voge 300 Rally, adding circa 2200 miles to the total.
Bike on loan from the importer Moto GB.

Just an update on this. I was at the off road event this weekend and she ran fine. No problems. People have asked about E10/E5 fuel and whether that was the problem. Could be. I rode all the way up to Scotland on E10 as that's all you could get in the rural areas. So it had about 7 tanks worth. On the way back down the motorway I ran it on E5. It had about 3 tanks worth and was a touch lumpy off the bottom. Now with another tank of E5 it's fine. So maybe the consequence of running it on E10 is that slightly lumpy bottom end on a closed or throttle.

Hi Nathan, I sold my yamaha bt1100 bulldog due to the carbs gelling up. V twin hard to get carbs out. e10worse for small engines lots on here about lawnmowers failing. My fuel injected bike seems ok……..so far

Esso Synergy (the red pump) is marked as E5 but is completely ethanol free in the majority of the UK - they state this on their website. E5 legally means "up to 5% ethanol", and so zero ethanol is still marked as E5 in the UK. Ethanol has a lower energy density, so I tend to run this on a 2022 Vespa when doing long trips in order to maximise my range per tank.

@@volt8684I’ve been using E10 in every engine I’ve got that can run on it (which is all of them) since 2011. Zero problems. It’s easy to be scared of something different don’t use E10 as a scapegoat. The Voge oddity is that it states that E5 must be used, that’s odd but must be respected. The big Japanese makes have been built for E10 since the 1990s.

I like the looks of the Kove 300 Rally, but my G310GS has twice the service interval which I greatly appreciate. The Kove 450 Rally may be the bike I'd like to have, kitted out as an off road oriented ADV bike with the power for highway use without being wrung out as my baby GS is at those speeds. I also love the dual tanks on the Kove 450 Rally and the extended fuel range. The 2.9 gallon (11 liter) tank on my G310GS is honestly my only real complaint about the bike. Get well soon, Dorothy!

At £3,799 the Voge Rally is a lot of bike. TET/ACT/Stella /Sweet Lamb friendly. On my brief ride in the Alps, it proved to be easily rideable and well mannered. Without any complications.
I wouldn’t swap my Crf250L, for one. If someone wanted a Crf, I’d recommend they look at the Voge, it’s better value and a equally capable alternative to the Crf.
Now? If they did a Voge Rally 450, I might swap allegiances.

I’ll have to try and find a centre stand for it as the previous owner in Japan took it off for some reason, but oh well!

no "fanfair" from those waiting for the next invite to a mainstream bike launch and fancy hotel in S Africa or Andalucia etc , no surprise eh. A bike earning its reputation from users, Social media can be crap but also a treasure trove of usefull info. Someone who wants to buy a bike to do a 500 mile m-way run wont be choosing your channel, but someone who needs to do it as yourself to enjoy their trip to the max may do so, so its all valid info. Give the girl a little spanner time to keep the story valid. Thanks.

@@nathanthepostman A big part of what comes to the US is what sells and what does not. I helped a friend with his first motorcycle and after a few hours on my Honda Cub, figured a 250 was a good start. He was well placed on a Honda Rebel 250 and after that, I wanted that engine. There are so few CB250 Nighthawks in the US, it took me almost 3 years to find one. I bet there's 200 Rebels for every 1 Nighthawk. The Nighthawks wouldn't sell. I wanted a CX500 Standard but, what sold here was the Custom and bought 2 of those before I found a Standard. If the Voge 300 Rally comes here, people will gut the exhaust and toss the airbox for a pod filter. There is a reason we can't have nice things.
