North Little Rock, Arkansas - January 12, 2023 - North Little Rock Police advised the Arkansas State Police they were in pursuit of a stolen Kia Sportage. The driver of the SUV lost control and spun off of the roadway where he struck a tree. The vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames.
EDIT: Trooper Little's video has no audio. However, there is audio and radio traffic available from other sources. On my video, which has audio, one can hear the Trooper call the pursuit with the stolen KIA, the crash, the fire, and the unfortunate realization that the driver is still in the vehicle and is 10-7 (the 10-code for deceased).

"The Bell Curve" by author Charles A. Murray.
Is the police car a Charger or something else?
To be fair it was a pretty clever move he pulled to ditch the cop, but instead of hitting the brakes he kept going at an insane rate of speed. He could've been on his merry way after shaking that cop loose had he simply braked after he cleared the highway onto the offramp. No idea why he thought it was a good idea to take that turn at that speed... guess you're right after all, dude wasn't too brilliant
I saw a Juke outrun 2 THP explorers about 6 years ago near Jackson TN headed towards Memphis on I-40. I didn't know those ugly Jukes had it in them. I pulled off the first exit in Jackson to take on fuel and saw cruisers running back and forth, helicopter in the air .... I could tell they lost him and it blew my mind!
I feel worse for the trees, animals that live in the trees, and birds than I do for the car thief. I wish all stolen car pursuits ended this way when police go home, thieves are six feet under, and no need for court or jail.

He's got no one else but himself to blame for what happened.
The lucky ones never get them back. My son in law had his stolen and when he got it back. It was trashed. And so many have been stolen that it was 4 months to get the parts to repair it!,
WAY WAY BETTER for the owner to have it end up unquestionably totaled like this.
There'll be ZERO arguing with insurance, and they'll be back on the road driving a replacement sooner.
What u two don't get is, he was still unlucky enough to get his vehicle stolen.
Did y'all ever think of the crap he had to go through having no vehicle for a while because it got stolen?
Did u ever think that maybe there was something of value (both money wise and or sentimental wise) in that vehicle.
Maybe even something that can not be replaced.
Or what if that vehicle was from a loved one who died.
And the vehicle itself could have ment a lot more to the owner.
To u it is just a vehicle.
But u don't know the story behind the vehicle.

@@2511jeremy Back in the 90s, I had a '93 Mustang GT. I drove to Las Vegas from L.A. and there is a several mile stretch of Interstate 15 that comes off few thousand foot mountains down an incline leading to the state line. You can see several casinos and attractions from over 7 or 8 miles away seemingly growing out of the desert floor you are descending to. I got the urge to floor the car under the misguided notion that the CHP could NOT follow me into Nevada (they can). I probably hit 140 top speed in 4th as 5th was really just a cruising overdrive (I think I had a stock 2:73 to 1 rear end which was later changed to 3:55 and improved the situation in 5th). At any rate, I could have sworn I saw a police cruiser trying to catch up to me, and I took the exit leading to the Nevada town of Primm. Barely a curve, but with me still over 100 and looking intently back for a cruiser (it was actually a guy who I had passed on my run who tried to catch back up--and this was before the days where people carry cells) I nearly wiped out on a very slight turn that was more of a slight 'S' than any kind of curve. I was watching my mirrors and looking back over my shoulder WAY too much and even that slight bend nearly caused me to wreck.

As being Fire-EMS trained and been to multiple car accidents, I can say that people that decide to take off and endanger other people doesn’t mean they have to go out in a shitty way, basically die. But I always say this, if you’re gonna do stupidity and idiotic acts, you earn life changing lessons or consequences in a bad way. Do stupid things, you get the consequences for the actions. I certainly would have tried to get the guy out but I’m not risking my life for an idiot that risked multiple peoples lives on a highway. As always, the guy is still human and was a person. Having witnessed a fiery end to a Truck driver who rolled his 18 wheel dump truck. Hearing the man scream that he needed help and was trapped in the cab and was engulfed in flames rather quickly and there wasn't anything myself or the other drivers who stopped. That sound haunted me for months, I was so helpless and wanted to help the guy but the flames were intense, we couldn't get near it. I do wish truckers would slow down and drive safer. One dump truck guy killed a mom and 4 kids.
@@cattnipp It is sad that happened, but it isn't always the fault of the truck driver when involved in an accident. So please do not jump to the conclusion that the trucker is always at fault because we are not.

i'm sorry that bystander had to witness that mess
Couldn't happen to a more deserving individual. How many other people's lives did they put at risk?
At least the Cops get a FREE PASS!
Play with fire you get burned
“Only you can prevent forest fires”
Smokey Bear
'He blew his mind out in a car , he didn't notice that the trees were there '
Why would you ever run from ASP smh
It’s fun

got to admit, that lane change to the exit was a good move, it's the 3 seconds after that move that didn't go well.
what a sad sad ending to a life for a non -violent crime . we should all pray for his soul and family .
no great loss. just another car thief holding a private bbq. stay safe, officers!
Those poor trees!
And kids, the lesson today is take Hyundai and Kia very seriously when they report $2billion is financial loss due to engine recalls and catching fire. That's not the car you want to be driving in a high speed chase. Perhaps a make/model that doesn't have an entire history of engine fires. You're in Arkansas. We see how much you like your Chargers and Mustangs. Stick with those.
What an awful way to die. Bad decisions often have horrendous consequences
It couldn’t have ended better.
No innocent person was hurt.
Thieves are scum. And sometimes they get what's coming to them.
where was the fire dept. dispatched from California?
Canada i think?......
I feel sorry for the tree.
that fool won't be stealing anymore cars, got what he deserved. I feel bad for the owner of the kia that lost their car.
Living in NYC, it's strange to see that the FD still has not arrived yet over ten minutes after the call went out. They must really be in the sticks...
Word is bond b
Rather live in the sticks than that over priced shit hole

According to Google Maps, the nearest station from here is 4 miles away. This was just on the outskirts of Maumelle.
