I enjoyed your clear information. Question for you... I came across a video saying that stretching actually aggravates the already aggravated fascia, prolonging the pain/ symptoms... it kind of makes sense, but every other resource says stretching is the way to go. Could you please put my mind at ease that I'm not "worsening micro tears", or some such?

Hi Kelly! I suppose the best thing we can advise is that the latest evidence with a systematic review says that stretching is the right thing to do! This would absolutely be the basis for me continuing with stretching. The link for the systematic review is in the video description below if you wished to read it

Thank you so much for the video !
Just a quick Question re. loading and activity modification - what is the best advice?
Should we be advising to not engage in activities that irritate the PF above a certain VAS?
Great videos - thank you again!

Thank YOU so much Rosa! Research suggests that operating around a 3/10 pain level if not too over-irritable is a good place to be. Ultimately, some activity is good, but as you said, making sure it doesn’t over-aggravate…… but that doesn’t necessarily mean they can’t do the activity, they may just not be able to do as much…. E.G. rather than “stop walking altogether”, it might be “what if we try walking for X minutes on softer ground”… hope that makes sense

How do we feel about massaging/‘release work’ on the fascia in clinic?

All is fine but can rolling is dangerous and it’s temporarily numbs and pain comes back, I found rolling pin better.
