      Actually, Jeralt had a blood transfusion from Rhea and Sitri had the Crest of Flames from Rhea's science stuff. Crest of Flames is Sothis' blood, who is Rhea's mom, but also Rhea is technically Byleth's aunt too? Wtf

    • @majorplothole2620
      @majorplothole2620 Před 2 lety +152

      *doing math*
      Okay. So we have Sothis, who is Seiros/Rhea's mom.
      Jeralt - gets a blood transfusion from the daughter, making him.. what? like her son or something? or a twin?
      So then Sitri.. gets the crest of flames because of the heart that was given to her, through the mom.
      SO. at best, Sitri's Rhea's Sister, and Jeralt is Rhea's kid now. So, Aunt/Nephew action best case scenario. Worst case? Mom/son. if Jeralt is instead Rhea's brother cuz of the infusion and not son.
      If it's mom/son you're looking at Rhea being Byleth's aunt, and if it's Aunt/Nephew action then I guess Byleth is her grand kid? but also her niece or nephew....
      Man. shit's more complicated than game of thrones...
      Either way, it's technically incesty. and I say incest, cuz who the fuck are we mere mortals to say what is and isn't incest/wrong when it comes to 'gods'. Zoroastrianism used to believe that (if I'm not mistaken or over simplifying) that their ruling class was directly related to the god(s) and therefore it was imperative they keep the bloodline 'pure'.
      From what little I actually understand of that religion's history.

      @@majorplothole2620 Yeah Nabatean blood transfusions are weird because, from what we know, they change human genetics, but we don't quite know to what extent. Jeralt's lifespan was increased by a long ass time (like, Alois mentioned Jeralt claiming to have lived over a hundred years.) So then how much of Byleth's genes were influenced by the Crest of Seiros? Same with the Crest of Flames, is Byleth's resemblance to Sitri partially because of them both being born with Flames genes? Considering that Sitri was a literal science experiment, we don't have a clue.

      She seems to be a divine dragon to be exact. Divine dragons are a special kind of manakete (just to get it out of the way: manaketes are shapeshifter dragons that appear human most of the time, which is demonstrated best with Rhea), that have some control over space and time (best examples of this I can think of right now are Naga and Gotoh, which are both from the Archanea saga).

      Not to mention due to having some close ties to the Mobage game FEH(With some inaccuracies), Sothis is the only Dragon immune to dragon slaying. Not even Naga is immune, which says there's supposed to be something unique about her.

      It is not known whether Patricia (Edelgard's mother and Dimitri's Stepmother) was involved in the tradegy of Duscur, it is only known that her body was never found.
      Now this could have two reasons:
      1) Patricia may have been an Agarthan, like her brother Volkhard (Thales). We can't really say for sure that she was an Agarthan, as they tend to impersonate people, mostly those who have vanished/been absent for a while (Like Monica and Tomas).
      Volkhard is similar in that regard, as his behaviour suddenly changed at one point without any indication as to why it changed (He regularly donated money to the church but it abruptly stops at some point), so it is possible that Volkhard was at one point replaced by Thales. This could mean that Patricia is human, unless she was also replaced.
      Now to the point why there was no body: She may have died in the Tradegy of Duscur, but Those who slither in the Dark may have retrieved her body before anyone else could, either to sow distrust, making in seem like she was involved (if she was human) or to hide the secret of their identity, as Thales saved Kronya from Byleth for the same reason.
      2) She may be alive, but then there would be no reason why she never reunited with her husband and her daughter, so I doubt that.
      Note that these are just theories and in no way confirmed.

    • @BlackfangDragon
      @BlackfangDragon Před 4 lety +205

      Seelenfisch She was. Those Who slither in the dark(big tiddy addition) set everything up to go bad in Faerghus.
      Amongst other things she:
      Kept Patricia isolated to depend on her.
      Kept Lambert from having any personal time with his wife.
      Had Arundel being around kept a secret from Patricia.
      Arundel kept Edelgard a secret to protect her, Cornelia knew but Lambert didn't.
      She did all this by using the fact Original Cornelia was Patricia's BFF and brought her from the Enpire to the Kingdom in the first place. Then she got killed and Slither'd in the process.

      The crest system, as is, basically incentivizes rape (consider Miklan's abduction of women- it's not explicitly stated, but one can imagine what it's for) and all sorts of other abuses- it creates both a sort of caste system, and also is part of the church's "divine right" equivalent- which has led to plenty of its own problems.

      @@sarahluise3153 By the time the War of Heroes was over, crests were already an established part of society. Seiros couldn't just denounce them and tell them that their crests came from the blood of her entire race. That would only incite more conflict. Instead, she was forced to appease them by hiding the truth. In reality, Rhea wishes that she could end the emphasis on crests and heroes' relics, but the church does not have to power to make such sweeping societal changes as that. Also, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" is an extremely flawed line of logic. TWSITD is not an ally to anyone, and they see humans as nothing more than beasts. Edelgard stands no chance against them without Byleth, and even with Byleth she'll take heavy losses thanks to their nukes and advanced technology.
      Edelgard makes it seem like the Church could just poof the crest system away if they wanted to, but reality is always more complicated than that. There is no simple answer to a complex problem. Eliminating crests would not solve the societal problem of noble bloodlines being favored. Similarly, any government based on "merit" will easily fall to corruption in several generations due to the fact that "merit" isn't something that can be measured in any way. After Edelgard's death, her empire will slowly rot away as powerful people inevitably start appointing others based on nepotism and bribes.

Monolith for exemple if a full fledged first party dev of Nintendo unlike IS and HAL and they still make Xenoblade, which like the other Xeno games is pretty much just an excuse to make the most reference to christianism possible while commiting genocide and finding a way to get unethical human experiments and giant robots involved.
      That's not really something they would tolerate if they wanted to get an E rating on every game, especially in NA which usually only tolerate religious references if it is not made explicitely christian.
      By the way a funny tidbit, Kirby Star Allies was censored in North America because the story made too many reference to "God" to get anything bellow T if they refused to censor, which is not optimal for a Kirby game since it pretty much relly on the fact that it is accesible to anyone to sell, which is why the lore is mostly in the background.

      @@sonogrande7628 did it? Because as a start the church preaches against the abuse of crests. Visit the library and read the book of Seiros where the church explicitly states that men using crests for personal gain is what made the goddess leave. Which btw Rhea and all Naabateans loathe the crests and the Hero's Relics considering both only exist via the corpses of their dead family members. Crests are the creation of man you are chiding Rhea for a problem she didn't cause unless you wanted her to genocide all the children of the 10 Elite which actually would've made her the monster Edelgard accused her of being.
      Not that it matters because Fodlan was already trending away from Crests. Of the 24 students within the Three Houses only 3 has major crests and of those 3 only 1 has his Crest naturally, Felix. Houses Galatea, Bartrell, Hrym, and arguably Gautier were already fading with time. None of Ingrid's brothers or sisters had crests, Sylvain's brother didn't have a Crest and neither does Sylvain's children. King Lambert was already making reforms to steer power away from nobles before he was assassinated and Dimitri took on his values. Sylvain, as Margrave Gautier, ends the land dispute with Sreng and dependance on crests within Faerghus if he survives the war. Rhea had every intention of stepping down as Archbishop and just giving the position to Byleth, someone Edelgard is obsessed with. None of this war was necessary.
