Main Street is also home to Connecticut's largest Labor Day Parade which annually delights thousands of spectators and marchers alike, including the State's Governor. Newtown is also home to a popular, highly regarded school system which includes excellent public, private and parochial options. There are two town parks which offer swimming, playground and picnic areas, sports fields, basketball and tennis courts. For equestrian lovers, Newtown offers over 29 miles of maintained bridle trails. For golf and family fun, there are the Newtown Country Club and the Rock Ridge Country Club. Newtown has its own $2.00 movie house where recently released films are featured in an old-time movie theater ambiance. Newtown is ideally situated in northern Fairfield County, Connecticut. It offers the feel of small-town living combined with great restaurants and shopping within its borders.
