Nice looking storage options! Always good to see more competition in this area. That swivel cup holder is genius lol. 🤯
It's as if they read the reviews of the packout and looked through all the popular aftermarket products when designing the modbox.
That's exactly what we thought!
the rotating cup holder sold me hahaha
It's a game changer, honestly! You don't have to worry about sloshing half your drink out the top of the cup just because you have to move your stack elsewhere!
Badass!! They truely put innovation into their Boxes!!
A Klein and packout tool box would be cool
Wouldn’t it be amazing if they just worked together.
Locking system looks pretty close to milwaukee. It's nice to see something comparable to the packout. I hope this will create a modular tools storage race.
That's exactly what we're hoping too! Healthy competition is always good in these kinds of industries, and leads to incredible innovations that never would have been thought possible before!
Closer to the Craftsman trade style, one-handed unlatch.
My question is how would it handle Rob and Sarah's Belts and Boxes hammer drop?
Well that's the $320 question! Sounds like we'll have to get with Sarah and Rob and run some experiments!!
@@OhioPowerTool after Rob recovers from shingles
I'm still waiting on a rolling drawer base or cabinet base option or a simple dolly option.
It is such a drag having the largest box with a top lid on the bottom of the stack.
Ideally, I want to keep the tools in the stack. I don't want to have to move the tool boxes over and over again trying to get into the bottom.
A job site friendly drawer stack would be perfect. Sadly nobody makes that yet.
Totally agree. 2 or 3 drawers on the bottom unit would save me a lot of work.
The red brand has drawers in their packout system
@@57z but they don't have drawers with wheels and a handle. That's the point.
@@cobtheconquerorgotcha, I see now that's what you said. Yeah that would be an ideal option
I’ve got a few of the Milwaukee Packout boxes and they’re great. I haven’t got more because the don’t fit in my Weatherguard high side truck boxes. They’re about 1/2” too big. These Klein Mod Boxes are just that much smaller so I can get them in my truck boxes. I think I’m gonna get some and sell the Milwaukee if they work out. If I worked out of a van it wouldn’t be an issue. Hopefully Klein has a hit with these and offers more later like Milwaukee.
just ordered mine cant wait to get it
Glad to hear it! We'd love to hear how it turns out once they arrive and you get some use out of them!
Pay attention Milwaukee!!!!
These side mount extras are exactly what we are looking for.
In a perfect world we would have festool sustainer versatility and forward thinking engineering combined with Milwaukee durability.
I went to my local Lowe's to check them out, made in China, You can buy different accessories for inside or out for the boxes.
That's cool
This is cool
Great video. I started with Rigid due to budget restraints. Now I use Milwaukee, but I recently started to buy the Klien. Why? Because Milwaukee is kind of just a big red box to transport power tools. Other than just a tray in some cases, you get zero levels or organization. I'm not too financially bound to Milwaukee pack outs so I can easily make the switch over to Klien, which is a way better, trades friendly system.
Am I missing why Klein or any of the competitors don’t just make a telescoping dolly that has the clips so any box can be the base of your rolling box?
That's a great question! It'd be a smart move and a great way to really customize your setup; hopefully someone that makes those kinds of decisions has a similar idea and we can get something like that in the future!
Because then you wouldn’t need their whole system to equip it.
@OhioPowerTool what about warranty. I have the Versastack and I just had some boxes replaced fairly quickly. Called Craftsman told them how many and what was broke and ta da
Sorry for the late response, I reached out to our Klein representative and he stated "It is a limited lifetime warranty, normal life being ~5 years", I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions!
I have Milwaukee and that looks badass
As an electrician I love Klein but they’re just way too late to the game on this one. I’m in too deep with packout to pivot over to this set up now. But it looks cool, let’s see if they expand it into cool stuff like the drawers and such.
Sometimes being late gives an opportunity to capitalize on pain points of competitors. Being first isn't always best! Thanks for checking out the video and comment Joe!
I’m a level 2 electrician and this is definitely the modular pack out system I’m going to be using in my career not everything Klein is of great quality or effectiveness but this is one of their products I definitely will be spending some money on.
@@brandondemerchant794I'm split because as an electrician all my power tools are Milwaukee, but all my electrical hand tools, etc are Klein. Milwaukee has more boxes, Klein has more attachments/add-ons.
Klein may be bright orange, but Milwaukee pack outs are a big red "steal me" box you roll around onsite. Worried about a packout getting stolen cause of that.
Currently have a cheapie Husky crate with all Milwaukee tools inside, hasn't been stolen since 😂
Some times it is not best to be first....Klein has the most accessories available.
I want one
I know where you can find one if you're looking 👀😉 www.ohiopowertool.com/brands/klein-tools/klein-modbox-bags-coolers-storage
I'll get some Klein stuff looks good
THis is kool but I live and die by the packout drawers. Bring that to the market relatively soon and then I will probably be very interested.
Fair enough! Maybe it'll be something that Klein introduces with the inevitable second wave of their MODboxes!
@@OhioPowerToolIt's actually announced on their coming soon page!
How does everyone with these pack out kits store tools at the job site? Does your employer have several large gang boxes or do you take all your tools home every night? All our guys have small rolling bags or backpack style tool bags.
We lock and chain them up, but you’re right some job sites you have to bring them back everyday.
how does the handle work????
There are clips on the side of the box by the base of the handle that can be undone to then remove the handle for better storage. I hope this helps!
Just ordered the mod box accessories. How long do these take to ship to Florida. Thanks
Hey Mike! It typically only takes a couple of days for us to get orders out to Florida, but if you'd like a more accurate timeline specific to your order, you can email our Customer Service team with your order number, which should begin either with an SO or 731; their email address is cs@ohiopowertool dot com!
@@OhioPowerTool Awesome! Thanks very much for such a swift reply.
@@OhioPowerTool I got my mod box accessories and there great! Thanks for the really good customer service its much appreciated!

Now how does it compare in price?
About $320.00 plus tax?
Rick's got it right! The Rolling Box runs around $150, and the two smaller boxes are $90 and $80, respectively. Right around $320 for a subtotal, and then whatever your tax percentage is would get you out the door!
Same as Milwaukee, but has more options at this time over RIDGID or Craftsman
I bought them and there way better than packout.
How much does it cost? About $320.00 plus tax?
That's right on the money! Your subtotal would be $319.94 if you want to do some quick math with your tax percentage to figure out what you'd be spending out the door!
Still not available in Canada smh
We are sorry for this inconvenience.
The outside attachment just seem like they would get in the way.
You would think, but the slim profile on the side rails themselves lead to slim profiles for the attachments; it'd be no wider than your hard hat hanging off the side!
Anything that won't fit thru a 3-0 door is a deal breaker for me. All those side attachments might be really cool, but I could never use them on a job.
@@lww8208I don't think it's as wide as the Milwaukee pack out, so it should fit in theory. I have a husky packout that's considerably less wide and it fits in every doorway.
Do as I did and try it out in the store., I loaded with Klein tools on display.
Is it waterproof?
They aren't exactly waterproof, but they are made of a water resistant material that helps to keep any water or moisture out!
Where are they made and who actually makes them for Klein?
Sorry for the late response, I reached out to my representative and they stated Klein ModBoxes are manufactured in China
China, same as who makes for Milwaukee, etc....
What I'm most happy about is that noone mentions festool systainers in these comparisons. I had them all and they are absolute trash
Milwaukee is back in the barn with the triple crown win and the others are still in KY trying to get their saddle on. 😂 I love my Klein tools but Packout holds them 😎
Dewalt, if you're watching, make a drawer rolling box, which will make all these boxes obsolete
Whoever cooks that up first will definitely win over a lot of people; hopefully it's in the works!
@Ohio Power Tool You're right. I didn't understand Flex and Klein coming with stacked boxes they should have come out with the rolling drawer system they would have killed, I don't know about you boxes are loaded to the hilt and weigh a ton
Believe Ridgid is releasing one sometime this year 🤷🏽♂️
DeWalt (Stanley/B&D) is a supplier to Klien,
Just don’t see the point when they cost the same as Packout.
Some people are team Milwaukee, some aren't! Overall they are pretty similar, but they've got some differentiating characteristics--just like any of them. DeWalt, FLEX, Festool, the list goes on now!
yet another tool system that completely failed my simple test ( at first glances) :bottom that has protrusions is a big no no for me. (somehow they all seem to have that issue except ryobi) these protrusions prevent the boxes to be stored on a grilled shelf (like commercial shelving) smoothly as they will bind in the gaps of the grill. Most of them also don't have a flat hinge side either, same issue here storing the boxes vertically) also the sizes of boxes seem to not be designed around tools but rather specific arbitrary sizes.
A copy of Milwaukee pack out.

Clearly piggy backed off the Milwaukee box set , and just improved on the flaws that Milwaukee hasn’t fixed .
Anyways still pretty dope though .
And competition can only improve the market overall; because of this, one of the other modular box manufacturers will come out with something cooler, and then someone else will make something cooler, and it'll just keep going and we'll just keep getting cooler and cooler stuff!
Those wheels are trash
That is unfortunate to hear! Hopefully we will see an improved version with the next release of these ModBoxes!
has a release date been established yet?\
Not a specific one, sadly, though they did say sometime around the first quarter of this year, so hopefully we'll be hearing something soon!
Go to your local Lowe's.
Klein tools = Dewalt
Each brand definitely has some similarities but there are a few standout features as well. Of course, once one item works for a brand usually each will follow to have their own spin of it :)
DeWalt (Stanley B&D) is a supplier to Klien, China made means supplier/vendor item. And even then anything S, B&D is sourced out to foreign suppliers.@@OhioPowerTool
No drawers..do they not listen to customers..
Sounds like they'll just have to release a second wave of MODbox!
There are drawer units out there, specialized to hold wrenches, screwdriver or pliers.......
nobody cares about boxes anymore. Give us drawers, it's way more practical.
Drawers definitely have their benefits, and who knows; maybe it's something Klein will have coming out with their second line of MODbox hardware!
@@OhioPowerTool they should have learned from everyone else and produced drawers from the get go
It looks like they've definitely taken some lessons from the competition with the inclusion of some of the neat features and accessories, and only time can tell what the future may hold! For now, we'll just have to content ourselves with the boxes, which are still exceptional in their own right!
