Jordan was just simply poetry in motion 😅
True that
Especially slow motion.
An unstoppable attack dog. A force on both ends. A guy you knew could bail you out at end of games. Someone who could show you something new almost every game. A guy who almost never missed a game. Didn't pander for mgmt to get "this guy or that guy." A guy who could make that last shot from anywhere on the floor. The best? I and countless of other's believe so.
@@Amick44 without a doubt
@@Amick44 uh I mean he definitely lobbied for Dennis Rodman 😅
Never compare era's, but the fact that he could fight off the muggers every night....... GOAT
Uh .... if you never compare eras which I agree with, then GOAT is a meaningless construct.
This is why with honestly the exception of maybe 10-15 outliers who have been playing or played over the last decade, none of these kids would be scoring as much dealing with all that physicality. Load management? Lmaooo These kids would be crying.
@@strategicsage7694 That is true. When debating who the GOAT is, eras would have to be compared, not only because the GOAT candidates are all from different eras but the different eras themselves add needed context to make an objective evaluation. That's why when people count rings as the sole criteria, it falls way short. I don't by any means dismiss Russell as a GOAT candidate but his 11 rings alone isn't nearly enough to end the debate. 11 rings in 13 years became pretty much impossible starting in the salary cap/free agency era while expansion from 9 teams in Russell's era to 30 just added to it. Rings matter but they aren't the be-all-end-all. So the 11 rings make Russell a strong candidate since he had a big hand in all of them. But his rings are just the start of the Russell argument, not the end of it. No one since Russell's era spent their entire career in strong title contention like Russell did except for maybe Magic and Magic would've won 8 or 9 of them except for his run of titles coinciding with the Bird era in Boston. Russell never had to spend any part of his career outside of title contention like everyone else has.
@@madcapper6And NONE of them past present or future could stop
#HisAirness 💯#TheGOAT
you're wrong, comparing eras is as important as deciding who the GOAT is, and that's MJ. The modern NBA now is soft and more about 3 point shots, no fouls, all free lanes, no guarding much.
It's like not comparing Ali's era with today's era, where today's HW boxers are just soft and slow.
After seeing it live growing up, you are still amazed all these years later at what Jordan did on the basketball court
Yes, i am...
Straight Facts Bro!
Yes sir
yup some of my earliest memories are setting in front of a big floor modle tv with that awful wood panel on it watching Jordan do at the time to a kid looked like magic on the court.
Yeah this really shows MJ being d best while taking contact like they were nothing in contrast to todays Flopping. Tsk tsk nothing against Lebron but he dont compare to this man
I barely pay much attention to the NBA since Michael Jordan retired. Most of today’s players would cry about what Jordan went through to be great. Jordan didn’t leave to form a super team with other all stars and mainly had one all star as a Bull, and that was Scottie Pippen.
I didn't even type anything yet... lol
Tbf, you have to also consider the level of competition MJ was against.
@@jrtmendoza yes! The greatest competition created the greatest player
Me too. Only the playoffs matter to me now
Later we have give some credit to Rodman and Kukoč as well...but MJ the goat
“Tell me if you think this is a foul, folks?” Laimbeer literally hammered his forearm, lol.
it wasnt pure basketball back then. a strong and nasty enforcer could definitely influence the game kinda like hockey used to be too. thing is, Laimbeer didn’t have to do all that shxt he was actually good but that was his personality regardless. Probably the dirtiest player ever in the game. I think that was a response to him coming from a good home with all the advantages. He was playing against guys who came from nothing and were literally sponsored by hardcore criminals, drug dealers and killers from when they were middle schoolers. I guess Liambeer felt like he needed an edge idk
@@poindextertunesthat was pure basketball dude, basketball was made to be a contact sports that's why today there are many euro players make it to MVP candidates because they still have that contacts sports in basketball and playing in NBA makes them have easier life on the court 😂
..with both hands
...and Jordan didn't even complain to the refs. Dude is different.
Before I could appreciate the shear magic of Jordan, there was a time that I couldn’t stand him, but hear me out… I got into basketball at 11, living in Utah. Of course the Utah Jazz were my team. I was a diehard fan of Jerry Sloan, Stockton, Malone, Hornacek, Ostertag, Bryon Russell, Carr etc… The season finals of both (1996-97) and (1997-98) saw the Utah Jazz facing off against the Chicago Bulls and the legendary Michael Jordan. They were fan crushing losses, but looking back now, I recognize how incredible it was to watch some of the greatest players of all time, battling for their place as champions, in what I believe to have been the greatest era of NBA history. 🏀🏀🏀🏀
I was a Bulls fan (WGN on basic cable+no local NBA team= Chicago as "home" team) but I feel for Jazz fans. Those were the absolute best teams Utah has ever produced. Unfortunately, they had to be during the second Bulls three-peat when they were one of, if not the greatest team in history. There's no shame in how hard those Jazz teams pushed Chicago, they really went toe-to-toe with one of the greats and almost pulled-out the win...
@@phonebem Couldn’t agree more. Those were some amazing games and two great teams. I remember being on the edge of my seat, every game. Good memories my friend 🏀🏀🏀
People really forget just how good that Utah team was. Malone was a dominant big man ( perhaps the best PF of all time?) and Stockton was the best PG in the league (also maybe the best ever?). Those guys are among the greatest to play. I remember the playoffs back then and every single game went down to the wire. The difference between winning and losing was miniscule, usually just down to one huge play in the final minute, game in and game out. When the Bulls went up against Utah in those last two years, I remember a lot of us here in Chicago were all quite a bit nervous and we weren't sure that the Bulls could beat them. Bulls fans had a lot of respect for that Utah team and personally I think it's the best team the Bulls had to play in the finals.
@@MS-on9dy Totally agree! It's a shame Sloan, Stockton, and Malone never got rings together. But not at the expense of Chicago of course...
In a lot of ways, those Jazz teams should be included in the Bulls/GSW conversations because we know how they matched-up against Chicago.
@@MS-on9dy wow, thank you sharing that perspective. And yeah I agree with everything you said. I knew, at least for those two seasons, that Utah had something special, like never before, but I also knew the Bulls were the one team that would push those finals games into a level of performance that would allow no mistakes. Regardless of who won, those were two season finals that I’ll never forget. Both teams gave everything they had. Those of us who old enough to watch those battles of two NBA titans were a part of something special. 👊🏀🏀🏀
Jordan averaged 37.5 against the Pistons during the Bad Boys era. Then there were games he got hot.
Ok Zeke
Lol.
Laughing with tears in my eyes. So true :)
😂👍🏽
I rarely comment on CZcams videos but growing up I idolised MJ, I've never seen an athlete so graceful, skilled and determined as Jordan. It was a pleasure watching him play. He had this way of making every move, every shot look special, like you would never witness such a talent again. He was a rare mix of talent, determination and absolute killer mentality.
Thanks for stepping out of your shell! I was 21 (1991) bartending watching the game on TV. He went up for a shot in the paint with 3 defenders waiting. He was going high and strong with probably his tongue out. Thought he was going to dunk and then he slipped the ball to his left and puts it up off the board. That's when I knew. Have a great day!
You hit it: athlete, graceful, skilled. And winner.
All his moves were planned out for the kill. Not an ounce of wasted energy or wasted dribble. Everything was calculated. Add that in with his skill set, athleticism, and will to win and compete. You get the GOAT.
Not to mention athleticism still unparalleled today (maybe Vince), in my opinion.
you must of stopped watching basketball after jordan retired little betty. cause kobe was better than jordan.
and lebron is the goat. debate with me so you can become my next victim.
Michael Jordan is my favorite basketball player of all time.
He is the best player to ever play.

@@galaxyknight7309 first of all basketball is currently ranked 7 in the top 10 most popular sports globally (see the below link for reference and it’s because of MJ). Second of all MJ has a net worth of nearly $2B…Greater than any former or active athlete in the world by far. His influence on Nike and other brands is far great than any footballer. He's one of the few sports legends in my lifetime that I didn't want to miss seeing. He was everything and then some on the basketball court.
Yes sir MJ was must see TV! Call in sick from work or school or anything LOL
I love the 2-handed dunks by MJ! Isiah & Dumars planned ahead of time about how they can prevent Michael's attempts to drive through the paint. Just by tackling him without remorse. Cowardly move they called The "Jordan Rules."
Based on today’s reffing, I think Jordan was fouled on just about every basket in this video!

When Isaiah talks about the play against the Nets, all real Jordan fans know what that play is. It's probably his most amazing play and that is saying a lot when it comes to Michael Jordan.

It remains the single greatest 2pts I've ever seen. To the day I've never seen anybody do anything like it. Ish Smith made a super crazy layup that is probably the closest thing I've ever seen to it.
Jordan doing that against the BAD BOY Pistons!!!! Back when Defense was still allowed!
Imagine Jordan in today's NBA that has BANNED defense!!? As other NBA players said, "It wouldn't be fair!!".
Todays NBA means Net Ball Association. 😂😂😂
2:21 Look on Chuck Daily's face priceless 🤣
I always loved that shot of him...😂. RIP Coach...
He was an incredibly inspirational athlete.
Michael Jordan never gave up against the bad boy Pistons no matter how hard they beat him down and pushed him around Jordan always got back up and eventually won becoming one of the greatest NBA players ever
Honestly, there were numerous chances to kill him in these highlights, Laimbeer wasn't any tougher or goonish than today's bigs...
He went to the commisioners office to win
@@trifolkel And you obviously went to the stupid office. Your favorite player never averaged 35 a game and won MVP, DPOTY, a scoring title and steals title all in the same season.
I grew up in Detroit and visited Chicago in my teenage years often. I enjoyed watching the competition between the Pistons and Bulls even before those epic battles with Thomas leading the Pistons and Jordan the Bulls. After watching MJ year after year run up against one of the most physical teams to ever play in the NBA. When MJ and the Bulls finally got past the Pistons the year they swept them in the Eastern Conference Finals, MJ would not be denied. With the exception of the two years he tried to play MLB with the White Sox he was the best in the NBA. I would not call him the GOAT, however, I would with much respect call him the best shooting guard ever.
@@trifolkel 😂
Make no beans about it, MJ was, is and will always be the 🐐!
Jordan's evolution of a player through the years is like some sort of optical illusion. I swear, when he was younger, he looked tinier and lighter. He really did look like he could float, like he could somehow defy gravity. Such a joy to watch.
Holding a pose in midair definitely makes it look like you're in the air longer. The sooner you begin posing (as soon as you leave the ground), the more it appears an unrealistic amount of time has gone by during the jump. He was so good at that.
MJ took everything they could throw at him and he just reminded them time and again he was in a different league. He was a frickin' freight train driving thru 4 or 5 opponents straight to the basket anytime he wanted. What an incredible guy in so many ways. Artist actually. Oh, yeah. Thanks for putting this together. Love your videos on MJ.
I've seen that second one, fast break reverse layup, so many times and just realized he was dodging a mugging by Lambier
He used to make me so mad because nobody could stop him. Now i realize i watched greatness. Nobody has come close
Nobody dunked on more people than MJ and Vince Carter.

That 6:09 up-and-under in mid air is just undescribable
Young hoop fans still don't recognize how cold this dude was. No one else like him.
Watching him gliding up the court, hardly touching the ground with his big strides, and jumping above and weaving around everyone else at the end as if he was the only one on the court privileged to the moon's gravity was like watching an action movie unfolding in slow motion--and the gravity conspiracy became factual when the replays were shown in slow motion.
LUV this content! Even the play by play announcers were better in the 80's and 90's. Love watching 30 years later MJ dunking on Laimbeer (and never get tired of watching the Pippen dunk on Ewing ... plus him telling Spike to sit down).
Rodman played for both teams but when he played for the bulls pippen was the better guard against centers like Ewing and obviously their team's big guys would only try to then guard him back and miserably fail. rodman was a tough guy too so the bulls had two of the five best front court guards.
They called him an asshole, they called him a tyrant, then they called him a leader, and then he made them call him a champion. - Randell Burton
I simply has never seen anyone else moved so gracefully like MJ.
Isiah Thomas' conversation with Dumars was probably about Michael's "triple clutch" layup against the Nets in '91.
Everyone is forgetting just how unguardable MJ was. None of these guys today would be able to anything to stop him either.
Pfft
No one in the league today could stop Jordan. I'm glad the noobs are showing their ignorance here. The amateurs are easy to spot.
in todays ECFinals I've seen players far away MJ's move...
I love what MJ does to that basketball

His Game is what made him the Greatest player of All-time.
No one has ever played like him...Best to ever do it Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
Isiah Thomas recently illustrated the perfect technique to stop Mj. I guess Michael made the adjustments
That Net's layup was the most insane this to see after Dr J's under the basket layup.
No other player will ever raise the game of basketball to the level MJ did. I was born in '85, recall watching mostly the 90's Bulls games. Love seeing these earlier years. Jordan the most competitive spirit to play the game, that's what made him so great!💪
I really enjoy all your videos... keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
3:57 is just insane! Not even three BIG defenders at once could stop Jordan.
Yea man and he dunked on all three of them 😅wow 😊
This was when basketball was at its best.
AND PEOPLE BE CRYING ABOUT HELP..LOOK AT JORDANS TEAMMATES WITH ALL DUE RESPECT 😳
MJ had so many unbelievably ridiculous moments/shots/dunks but what impresses me the most is his ability to close out passing lanes and split defenses while slashing to the lane. The man had an incredible amount of intuitive control and power over everyone else on the court it seemed. And he did it on a daily basis. It wasn’t luck. The man was one of one. No one like him ever in the history of basketball. And the way these players now are with horrible work ethics and maturity issues, for sure there will be no MJ in the future for a very very very long time.
MJ’s legacy needs to thank the Bad Boys for making him stronger and tougher mentally and physically. Detroit was no joke.
Hi from Canary Island (Spain)
Any doubtfull about MJ is the GOAT
You left out the iconic dunk on the game after the freeze all star game in 1985. The one with the clock ticking down and he comes from the middle of court and goes through the whole Detroit team and dunk. Amazing play.
Always a great video !!!
Congratulations brother !!!
That's one aspect of his game that people tend to forget now. Sure, MJ was amazing in offense. But his defense was also second to none. MJ must be the best defender in his position of all time.
Isaiah was talking about that triple clutch reverse layup by Jordan. That was a thing of beauty!!!
