Brother and sister in Christ, you are very correct that speaking in tongues is not what determines whether or not we have the Holy Ghost. It’s so unfortunate that so many people are pushing this false doctrine and confusing many Christian! God is not the author of confusion and he will teach us all the same truths when we do the following: walk completely humbly before God, in love and obedience. This is why so many different and confusing doctrines are being preached. So many are walking in disobedience and pride. So God is resisting them and not teaching them the truth of the gospel as he resist the proud but only gives grace to the humble. So they are forced to lean onto their own understanding, which is a very dangerous place to be. I want to share something with you that God showed me in the word that proves exactly what you’re saying to be true. In 1corinthians chapter 14:5 Paul says “ I wish (Greek definition for would) that you all spoke with tongues.” Now if I had my children standing around me, and I told them that I wish they all were my children, they would certainly think I was crazy. And they would ask me why do I say that because we are all your children. But if I had a group of children standing around me with some of them being my children and some of them not, then I could rightfully say I wished you all were my children. It’s the same in this verse where Paul is addressing the body of Christ. if everyone already spoke with tongues, then Paul would not be making sense to them by stating that he wished they all did. But because everyone didn’t speak in tongues. It was right for him to make that statement. This is one of the many scriptures that testify against the false doctrines that are being pushed today concerning tongues. We are not entitled to the gift of tongues as many people claim. But God is the one who decides who gets the gifts and when they might get it. It’s very sad how so many professing Christians are confusing themselves and other Christians who are seeking more of God with these false teachings of entitlement! I encouraged anyone who watches this video to approach God with complete humility, walk in love and holiness, and God will teach you of himself.
