Honestly, Deboer hasn't even won less than 10 games at any school he's head coached at...and that's saying a lot considering that the 2 latest schools he inherited were both 4-8 prior to him becoming HC. Obviously we as fans need to give Deboer time to settle in, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bama makes the playoffs this year

You just described the problem with Kelley, when he faces a big game he chokes. He tried to choke against Bama in 2022 and they got lucky in OT.
Bama is going 9-3, Texas is going 9-3, Ole Miss is going 10-2, LSU is going 10-2, UGA 11-1

I think 9-3 is a very reasonable expectation for Alabama this year with a chance to be better. 8-4 will be kinda disappointing baring injuries.
LSU has arguably the best OL unit in the nation. Blake Baker coming in can right the ship, 9-3 is no way the ceiling. Getting Bama, Ole Miss at home and you have a chance at 11-1/12-0.

When another coach in the CFP tells the media that they prepared for the second game more than the first game, you are not a good HC. Dabo straight up told the media that they prepared to play Bama for a month and then treated ND like a regular week. Look at BK on games he had to win, it was pretty much a bye week for the team they were playing. If you cannot win big games, ever, with the talent you are getting then something is wrong with you as a HC. Do you want a HC to be able to get you to the playoff and BCS championship game and then get blown out in embarrassing fashion or do you want a HC to win at least one game that was a must win in there career?

This entire process was completed within 48 hours of Saban's retirement, and if you think there was enough time to interview multiple people, you simply don't live in reality. Saban had his eye on Washington as far back as the end of 2022 when he pursued Grubb for the OC position.
