I have a cheap $400 Walmart Tamarack pro with a framed seat and wearing a old Cabelas anglers PFD. 9 hrs on the water I'm still comfortable. I can't imagine a Bonafide can feel like. I always have the back rest vertical.

The seat in my OldTown 120 Auto Pilot is the most comfortable seat I have, anywhere. I can set for 8 hours no problem, no extra cushion. It's more comfortable than any large padded chair on a fishing boat.

Great video! I definitely need to add the kayak kushion but you are spot on with keeping the straps tight! My first several times out I would have my seat leaning back and was always in pain until I adjusted it to being more straight!

Chad, great video topic. Instead of the gardening cushion I used some 2 inch thick Polyethylene closed-cell foam that I got on Amazon for another project. It worked great and you can cut it into whatever size or shape you want. It comes in sheets that are 54” X 16” I either 1” or 2” thickness.

Great advice, as always, Chad. I was gonna touch on one thing that I do to my seat, and you sorta touched on it, and that is the space under your seat base, that air space between it and it's tightening straps. I went online and bought "Kaizen Foam", about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inch, and cut a piece that fills in that entire area. That helps get rid of any sagging that may occur and creates a solid contact between the pad and the straps. It really firms up the seat, and like you said, once it sags, the side bars start to push on your hips, creating discomfort. Same goes for the front frame bar behind your knees.
Sitting up and not reclining, like you mentioned, also gives you better. Casting ability. Many times, I find myself scooting forward in the seat, away from the back, to make casts, and it helps make sure I'm in a better posture to make those casts. Do that for a while, then try casting while leaning back, and you'll immediately see the difference.

The RVR seat is the worst of all framed seats I’ve personally sat in. I was able to redo all the straps, they’re were laced from the factory in no particular order or fashion. It bearable now. I will be adding a pad of some sort under the seat as well. I’m only 175lbs, so it’s not like I’m really putting that much stress on the thing.

I switched from a Kayak Kushion to a cushion with the cutout for tailbone relief. It has helped some but it is not meant for outdoor or marine use. LOL.

I would just add to be careful with having your seat back vertical. It will have the tendency to fall forward when you stand up. I keep my seat pretty vertical as well and I do a lot of standing while fishing. On more than one occasion I have went to sit down on to the backrest of my seat because it folded forward. I’ve had some close calls where I thought I was going overboard. 😂🤣

I had The same issue with the metal slotted pieces that the straps hook thru. I placed about 3/4" spacers to move them out on both sides. One other issue on the seat is the alum. Rivets on high stress areas that after about 3 weeks completely imploded. The fix was to install SS bolts in these locations . I spend many days and hours in my yac and I'm a big guy so something just as simple as readjusting your seating while sitting back down puts a lot of pressure on these major spots. At minimum they should have used SS rivets. This seat takes a beating while moving around so brace it up where needed. It's ok for the guy who fishes every now and then . But I tend to move a lot and fish very aggressively with my equipment. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏

First, the definition of a boat is a small vessel propelled on water by oars, sails, or an engine. Most modern fishing kayaks are closer to boats than kayaks. So, aside from being wrong, don’t be rude. Second, it’s my channel and this how I share my content so I will call it whatever I please. Thanks fir watching and thanks for the comment. Maybe try the dictionary first next time. 😜
