  • The Gesha/Geisha variety of coffee has famously taken the spotlight as one of the world's most expensive types of coffee beans. These coffees often taste light and fruity, often reminding coffee enthusiasts more of tea than coffee. Black tea, jasmine, peach, all tasting notes you may find in a Gesha.
But what led to this variety becoming so expensive and sought after? Is it actually worth the cost and the hassle to acquire? Join me as we take a look at the history of Gesha!

I recently got back from Panamá. While there, my friend took me into the Highlands and brought me to a coffee shop near Cerro Punta at the foot of Volcán Barú. They served Gesha coffee and had Gesha trees growing right behind the café. The coffee was amazing (and I of course brought some home) and the experience was the best I've ever had in the coffee world 🇵🇦 ❤️

Thank you! Gesha is a really interesting cultivar. Just tasted it (a Honduras one) with my favorite coffee (Kenia sl28, sl32) in comparison. It's really cool, it's very sweet but also fruity, unexpectedly interesting coffee from Latin America.

Geisha is Amazing.. but without the careful job of the producer... which is a cross between an farmer and an artist... the cup quality wont be there.... Ive tasted Geishas from the same lot that just the drying phase made a huge difference in the cup quality
