I used to replace Residential steam boiler Probe style LWCO probes due to corrosion on the porcelain.....
Is this an issue with Commercial Probe style LWCOs?

Is it possible low conductivity could cause a probe type LWCO to trip?

Great video. How do you test/check and perform maintenance on the secondary probe type LWCO?

I’m still learning but I’ll try and answer my best for you.
Pull the probe, clean it off with a scotchbrite pad, check inside of the housing to see if there’s any mud buildup, clean it out if there is.
To test, drop the water below the probe level, auxiliary lwco should be a manual reset, wether on the burner control or physical switch on the probe. Try and operate the boiler, if it doesn’t operate push the reset button and observe for operation. If it works after reset, test complete.
If you do have a situation in the field where you’re wondering how to service a device; look up the manual by model number, no better instruction than OEM manuals.

I don’t think it is accurate to say the water acts as an insulator, in fact it is the opposite. you go on to say the water takes the heat away from the tube to keep it cool which is correct.

I still can't over it . They value union pigs over service technicians . Absolutely insane values
