      I’ve traveled to many countries including Thailand over the last 30 years and I consider Thailand very safe as far as crime/ assault, nothing too worry about if you just use normal precautions you would use anywhere. Danger in Thailand comes from traffic, watch out for erratic riding of motorcycles on footpaths, traffic not stopping for pedestrians on crossings etc.
      Also watch out for poor conditions of footpaths otherwise you could take a tumble. Apart from that I recommend Thailand 100% and am sure you will have a great experience.

    Totally understand your vantage point Serg. It's much more comfortable to look after our own health and happiness than to spend time pondering over politics and even just what others think of us in general. I'm in that mentality now as well. After decades of caring too much about how others view me, it's now "ME" time instead of political correctness 24/7. Thanks for your fun walks. It's coming up to Fall Season. Have ypu ever thought of visiting Chiang Rai or Mae Hong Son in tge north during Winter here? If so you do have to plan (and reserve accom) ahead of time month or more. It's beautiful up there during Winter with flowers, tea plantations, rolling hills, and best of all, 15-25 degree Celcius weather. Would love to see your videos up there if you do.

      Yep, you understand exactly my rationale.
      I’m absolutely planning to go to Chiang Mai soon. My plan is to spend a week in the city, and do the Mae Hon Song motorbike loop. I will definitely documenting all of that.

    I'm a City boy, graduated from Riordan. Dad was sfpd. And I know a few still working so I'm sure we know a few of the same people. I started going to Thailand in the late 80's.
    I'm still working on Cali but I have a Thai wife and will be retiring there at some point soon. And you're right about our govt. Not the same country anymore. Great move to make the change. Definitely look around the country more.
    Wish you the best 👍👊🙏

    Great summary! Very inspirational. My sister is trying to motivate me to join her and buy a place in Thailand. My Dad has a couple of med problems so Thailand is great for him also since I read they have excellent medical and dental care.

      They have excellent medical and dental care here. My experience is with hospitals and doctors here has been on par, if not better than in the US. Renting makes a lot more sense here than buying for a lot of people. Make sure you do your research to see which is best for you.

      Just know when to go outside. I once got a persistent flu in the north winter. I didn't feel better until I drove back near Bangkok. That's why I love warm weather more than the cold. You'll know this when you're weak. I prefer cold weather when I have to do hardware work only.

    Thailand is a paradise for everything, whether it's food, tourism, beautiful nature, peace, shady, people are friendly to foreigners. But don't go on a night out, bad people, lots of drunks, bad habits all the same. Including women at night. Looks beautiful. Not everyone is good. Love from Chiang Mai.

    From your service in law enforcement, are you entitled to a retirement pension? Similar to a servesman in the army as an example ?
    I also agree with you on alot of what you you said. Makes sense to me. 👍

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, but every agency is different on the size of the pension. They’ve cut back on the amounts very heavily over the last 10 years.

    My brother, I think Thailand lives a relatively slow, independent life; people are friendly; they do funny things; there are no terrorist incidents; there are no earthquakes. At most, it was raining, waterlogging, and slow draining, which the candidates for governor It's competing to tackle this problem. I think it's a very livable country.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  Před rokem

      Well Thailand has definitely had terrorist incidents here. This is why there are almost no garbage cans anywhere anymore. But I completely agree with your overall assessment. These are the reasons why I live in Thailand now.
