- Today I take you shopping at the world's largest weekend market in Bangkok, Chatuchak Market in Thailand. It's massive and it's been 10 years since I visited this market so I will be redisovering it as well. With over 35 acres and over 15,000 individual vensdors spread across 26 sections, this is the largest weekend market in the world. This market has everything from clothing, to watches, jewelry, luggage, small electronics, food, housewares... etc. You name it, you can find it here. Join me as I show you around the biggest market in Bangkok. Yes, there will be some food! I even got to interview Lash who makes custom painted shoes, they were superb! This market is so massive, and of course I got lost.. several times. If you come to Bangkok, Thailand, make sure you stop by Chatuchak market (aslso known as JJ Market).

You made me smile while you two spoke Russian , so touching . I could feel how wonderful I'll have if I find Thai people and speak Thai in the middle of the market in Moscow .
Yes, you totally understood. It was a great experience.
@mrraiarj -- Thank you for your kind words.
We Thais love Russians and Russia as they are always friends to us Thais and Thailand probably over 120 years now. They are nothing but good friends to us - never interfere with our internal affairs and never stab behind our back unlike some countries that call themselves great friends of Thailand but they do some shady things to us. I wish this man nothing but success, happiness, good health and make lots of money!!!
Thank You so very much for your support!
@@LifewithSerg You're welcome. Thank You back. Love your positivity. Culturally we Thais and Russians are so much alike. We're old fashioned countries and still have those good old fashioned values. We're all about family and very spiritual.
I'm an old man, almost 80. I used to have western friends. I took him to this market. He liked Thai products, bowls, plates, cups. He bought a lot to take home. He said that he would put them in a display cabinet or a sideboard. And when his son and his daughter get married. have a family He would share these as gifts for his sons and daughters to use in the family. He really bought a lot, he really liked it, the price was not expensive.
That’s great! There’s so many things at this market.
@@LifewithSerg if any place There are many things you want. You don't need to go to many places. Thai people use the word here since "Pestles on warships" reads "sarg ga buea yun ruea rob" means Pestles to warship. Because every Thai person must have Mortar&Pastles are available in every home. May you have a happy travel. Travel to profit life.
Blows me away that Bangkok has enough ppl to support all these markets and food halls massive population put it on my google map need me a guns n roses tshirt
I was shocked to see the majority of this market open! Yeah, it’s definitely worth checking out, but it’s also very easy to get lost in there.
Great market and love seeing you make friends everywhere you go!
I try!
Fun to see the market again.
Here's 2 tips for visiting.
1. The nicest washroom is in the newer building. It was clean, modern, air conditioned and free.
2. When you're exhausted, find someone with a massage sign. They'll take you to one of the shops where they've hung plastic across the opening and installed comfy chairs and air con. I think I paid 200 bhat for a foot massage. It was heavenly.
I had the best Mango Sticky Rice in that market.
Great advice.
I love this market so much, so awesome.
It’s so huge!
ตลาด จตุจักร เหมาะมากสำหรับ นักชอปปิ้งครับ
It is a good market, but I really think it’s mostly for tourists.
I loved this vid more than others. You showed the other part of market thats worths visiting, even if not shopping.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video Serg! I love visiting that market, it’s huge! You can see some weird stuff there as well.
So massive. I got lost. Lol
we love this market. Chatuchak is always.
There’s so much stuff in there!
Nice market bro. I would die eating crispy pork, its wonderful.
Yah it’s sooo good!
I know what Chatuchak doesn't sell. The shirt that Serg is looking for, that's what. Ha ha ha.
Seriously. Wrong market for me. But it’s been so long, it was good or go back. Like a 10 year anniversary. Lol
Serge , i recommend a place Called Mega plaza Sapanlek ….not so many Foreigners go there… tons of toys n stuff …Thais people called this place Madarake of Bangkok …. Btw all the shop in this building open late round 2 or 3 in da afternoon …. Dope 🎉
Been there already. Made a video. Lol 😂
Went there twice when I lived in Bangkok.
I’ve been here three times in two years. Each time with someone visiting. I really dislike that market. It’s just for tourists, IMHO.
That kabab guy is the best in whole market 👍🏻
Yes it was good!
Hi Serg a really very interesting Market Video. The Market is really enormous.
Have a nice day.
Yes it is giant!!
After watching this shopping extravaganzas video, I'm tired and need a nap.😴 The place is amazing & ginormous! Good luck finding shirts that fit.🙏
It’s a massive place man. You’d love it.
great video, enjoyed this one a lot. fun to walk thru these markets even tho i try to be a minimalist lol. very cool to hear you speak russian. wish i was more fluent in my mother tongue
There are so many really cool markets here
Great Market in Bangkok, a really must do for a tourist on a Saturday or Sunday..... but go early though, It gets very busy during the day.
Yep. Great place for tourists.
Great market that is, so much variety there but my feet feel sore watching your video lol awesome video!
It’s an ok market. Too much new junk. Not for me. But it was my 10 year anniversary of visiting Thailand, had to do it. Lol
@@LifewithSerg yeah ok must be a lot different now haven't been for 6 or 8 years now
Nice sneaker! 👍👍👍👍
He has a great business. Very talented.
I will make sure to visit next year when I come back to Thailand
It’s definitely worth a visit!
2 more weeks and Iam in Thailand for a month holiday, can't wait. I've been in Thailand 4 times, and I always eat Thai duck on orange sauce.
Oh yes! The Thai duck is delicious
I would suggest you search for the products you are looking for on Instagram before you go to Chatuchak. Most shops over there have an Instagram account to showcase their products with the address of their shop. So it should be easier for you. 😁
Chatuchak market doesn’t really have what I’m looking for. I think I’m better off going to vintage market.
@@LifewithSerg ... Not really. You have not yet explored the vintage shops situated in the middle of the market. You in fact can find every single thing there.
The hand painted shoes are awesome, I probably will go back and check out the whole market section by section if I have chance to visit Bangkok cause I had been there years ago.
The market is HUGE! Just so much stuff. The shoes are super cool!
The shoe store owner reminded me of a creative idea my son had come up while he was 8 and had painted shoes for his friends with those Pokemon characters.
Yeah great idea!
I didn’t last 2 hours. This place is enormous. I was exhausted. You are right about many shops not being open at 9am though. Love your videos…keep them coming 😊
Yeah Pat, it’s an enormous market. Honestly it’s very repetitive and I think it’s great for tourists. I’d much prefer the vintage market across the street from it, or the Pattavikorn secondhand market.
Went there in October with my gf. Was great
Yah it’s a fun place to visit.
Nice video Serg.
My favourite food in Bangkok is Mango Sticky Rice, chicken noodles with more spices. Fishballs that we get on the streets and ofcourse Coconut water with whole round peeled coconut that comes out of the icebox. Heaven!!!
Mango sticky rice. Mmmm. Haven’t had it in a while actually.
@@LifewithSerg that's my staple food while in BKK
woohoo dopamine :D thanks Serg!
You bet!
One little small but VERY IMPORTANT thing when you visit Asia especially the province farmlands (sm, set back, villages) and fishing areas: bring your clothes and shoes (2-3 pair shoes). It is very hard near impossible (unless in very large cities) to find big American clothes. If you are a smaller person well you will probably be fine. Just relax and enjoy Thailand!!😃Most of you probably have already considered this important point. When we are excited to travel though some of us may overlook same. Thanks for considering my expat community "people tip".
sm tip extra:always keep precious stuff in your carry-on bags.Point taken😏 thanks again, gang
Good advice.
Love your relax style vlog, really nice seeing you enjoy many things and got lost, Lol
For your food question, in the past I love Pad Thai the most because near me had the best Pad Thai ever and I ate there every week even after 30 years still can't find any where that good, sadly the shop already close 20 years ago.
Now I go for Kow Kar Moo(Pork legs with rice), its a hit or completely miss but still very good, love with more fat. I always try one every time I went to new place.
Oh wow. I’ve never tried that. Will have to try it for sure.
One of the rules of Chatuchak is that if you find a store you want to buy from, buy it, because you may never find it again. Sorry Sergei, Thai people don't know much about Joy Division. The band of our generation has been around for decades. Enjoy your life my friend.
Love will never tear us apart!
I’m thin XL, i just get whatever fits even if it’s baggy
Nice
I want to see you try a Thai bus one day! either the hot bus or air-con bus. Hope to know a perspective from US tourist like you cause our public bus are so far behind in Asia.
You really want to torture me? 😂 555 yes, I need to try.
Nice t-shirt 🤘🤘🤘
Love will never tear us apart… again.
All my best vintage Hawaiian Shirts have come from JJ Market.
Yeah it’s a good place for those shirts.
sorry to see it didn't work out the way you wanted. I still enjoyed the video......Matt
It was still a good time. 😊
Been there a few times and yes got lost also. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
It’s a zoo. Lol
The highlights in this market is pet sections especially aquarium zone which is considered the biggest aquarium fish market in the world. Sadly you didn’t visit.
It’s too big. Next time I go I will find the pet section
If I can I will try to go there as well too much to do in onky 3 weeks lol
It’s ok. All new stuff, good for tourists.
your videos make me smile in a time full of sadness
So happy to know I am able to bring you joy. 😊
@@LifewithSerg thank you! keep up the good wk steady climbing to 30k subs
@@LifewithSerg תודה רבה!
Sawasdeekrub🙏
Welcome to thailand💖
Thanks.
🤩🤩🤩...Thank you for sharing good stories through your video , I rooting for you...✌️💗💗💗
You’re the best!
@@LifewithSerg ...you too...👍💖💖💖
I suggest you go to Mabunkrong Center to buy your T-shirt
MBK, Been there many times, and picked up some shirts there. However they don’t quite have what I’m looking for.
Crispy pork Pad kra pao is the best. 🫶🏻
Omg yes!
Hey Serg, do you know if the guy that sells the painted shoes does custom artwork on a pair of shoes if i bring my own. I love his work but im a nike kinda guy, not so much into the allstar looking shoes.
I’m sure he would. Contact him on Instagram, I put his contact info in the description.
Hi Serg, what backpack do you have in this video?
It’s an Osprey Quasar. It’s the same backpack I used on my Koh Samui motorbike tour. 28 liters.
@@LifewithSerg awesome, thanks!
Wondering when you will make clip about JJ market. Here we are, huurreyyy! (^_^) JJ market is good gigantic place to get lost indeed!... If coming again, it wont be the same next time. There are toys section too... as well as furniture zone... plants and animal zones... etc.... to name but a few. (*_*) My fav. is the book sections. If keep searching, you can find some rare books there... Also, this market is a wholesale price-based.. So very cheap and better to buy lots for bargain. Anyway, I hope you can get back again and find your T-shirt.... /Thaks Serge for making the lost episode at JJ market.... and enjoy! (^_^)
I keep putting off going there until the 10 year anniversary. So this video was the tenure anniversary of the first time I visited this market. It’s extremely large! I must admit, it’s not my favorite market, as most of the items there are mass produced. However, it’s a great place to go and look and get lost.
@@LifewithSerg indeed getting lost and meeting new friend there. Sorry it is not your fav. But Thaks sir for your clip! (^_^)
I wonder you may end up buying shirts from your regular shop at MBK again. Lol
Ha ha. I can’t find what I want at MBK. Need to find a new place.
02:17 I don't like crispy pork.
It’s definitely not for everyone.
The air-conditioned section u mention is owned by private company and it sits close to the original Chatuchak market that is owned and run by the official Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) which runs Bangkok. Now we have two Chatuchak markets run by BMA, Chatuchak 1 at Mochit (the BTS STATION) and Chatuchak 2 at MINBURI in the eastern part of Bangkok. There are several markets by the name of Chatuchak. Very confusing for even locals. Make sure if u want to go to Chatuchak or JJ market. At least I found 4 markets by the name of Chatuchak.. Chatuchak Sai 2 .. Not only say Chatuchak market but must. mention the area it locates. The original one is at Mochit and tge second one at MINBURI. Chatuchak Sai 2 market is in Thonburi Area and it is now the most famous market for seafood. Lots of locals shop for very fresh seafood there and is very affordable.
I had zero problems finding it. It’s such a massive market.
If you are looking for a bike. I have a mountain bike with a 16-gear mechanism for sale. The frame is large enough to support a big guy. it is quite new, about one year, and it is rarely use because I feel it is too high for me. I bought it for around 4,500 Baht, but would like to sell it at the price of 3,000 Baht. My location is Kingkaew Road near Suwannaphumi airport. I will be available to meet you after 23 December this year.
If you go to my CZcams “about me” page, my email address is there. If you could send me a little bit more information about the brand and the model, that would be great.
@@LifewithSerg call me
I don’t have your phone number. Send me an email on my CZcams contact page, or contact me on Instagram @lifewithsergey
Serg, interesting...how to get business or work visa to live so many years ..like he is living and doing business in Thailand
I’m not sure what kind of visa he has. That’s typically not some thing I ask people.
9:15 I know this very talanted boots designer, he is from Russia, btw
He’s actually from the republic of Georgia, and then he moved to Russia.
@@LifewithSerg Yeah, I know
🤯 🤯 👍
👍😊🙏
i want to see the exotic pet shop . where it is?
It’s somewhere in there, but I’ve heard from other people that some of the animals are not kept in the best conditions. That is why I did not want to show it on video
What is the timing for this market? Is it open in the evening?
Google it for the full schedule. I don’t know.
35 acres? Unreal.
It’s insane!
😮🎉❤
Thanks!
Please speak slowly in English. we love your seeing Thai places.
This is the way I speak. I have to be genuine.
The purpose of urinal+sink is to save water. 2-in-1 cleaning. 😊
Have a nice day. 👋
It’s just something I have never seen. Lol
W🥰w🥰w🥰w
Yessss
ฉันอ่านคอมเม้นจนลืมดูคลาดไปเลย😂🙏🙏
Ha ha. Thanks.
my first time seeing that urinal+sink. i didn't know it exists here in thailand.
Me too!! So strange.
I saw a Christmas tree @ 11:23 😲
A truly great Market Serg ! I would set aside 3 days to explore it minimum.
Yah it’s giant! I probably covered 40% of it in the 3 hours I was there. Lol
Do you believe this market moved from Sanam Luang 40 years ago first time sellers don’t want to be hear because it so far look at this day.
It’s packed!
Where is your wife, bro?
Wife?? Lmao. No man, I’m single. Happy life.
@@LifewithSerg Yes, you are a very presentable man, so I thought that you have a wife, but she is waiting for you at home xD Sometimes, it's better to be alone than with a wife and girlfriend, I agree.
Mr. Serg, please don’t buy any diet books…making videos on CZcams will make you in a good shape. ;)
Ha ha. So true. 😊😂🤣
Wow
Very cool
Chatuchak is very large. You may need to walk 30 km a day for 7 day consecutive to pass all shops.
I think you are right! I feel only covered about 10 or 15% of the whole market
