Please consider looking at the life of Jesus and all he said and did in the books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible. To me He is actually the ideal man, not just theologically, but actually. Jesus is really a real man in the sense that he led, taught, inspired, gave without expecting things back and modeled kindness without being a wimp or a coward, yet forgave and led people to freedom - and most importantly, He laid down His life for people. He is the long awaited Hero, the real one that all things and stories point to. A read of the Bible reveals the Jesus, truly, is what true masculinity actually looks like. 1. Define icon/ideal of masculinity
    For example, Gary Cooper
    - Soft spoken, didn’t talk a lot, not aggressive or pushy, knew who he was, knew what he wanted, knew what was right and wrong and stood for it, didn’t assert himself, but when pushed extremely strong inside, balanced
= have a sense of control of who you are
    - True inner strength is quiet and calm
    - Having extreme quality like bragging how great they are is a sign of insecurity
    - Don’t talk more than necessary
    - Let action do the talking (Your achievement)
    - True strength is able to take criticism
    2. True masculinity has respect for women
    - don’t feel need to insult or push them around (Chivalrous attitude toward women)
    - Inner security/ confidence seductive and attractive
    - Ranging and panicking and yelling and angry show weakness
    - Sign of success is not just making a lot of money but also longevity
    - To become master of what you are doing
    - Do not have to go and grab things to prove you self, it will all come to you if you have the inner strength

The older I get (29 years) the more I realize just how crucial mental health is. I feel like, within each of us, there is this inner light that desperately wants to shine through. The light that makes us more confident, kinder, and gentler. The difficulty is figuring out how to uncover it, especially when life keeps introducing all sorts of pain to stop you in your tracks. I'm still struggling, trying to figure it out. I'm catching myself more and more whenever I get dark thoughts or think horribly about another person. "That's weak. You don't mean that. That's not the type of person you want to be." I'm on the right path, I think, but the progress is so slow.

    • @cheesemaster6463
      @cheesemaster6463 Před rokem +42

another thing with showing that light, kindness and love being confident and gentle, is that it makes you look weak in the eyes of the evil and disturbed. And currently every second person is filled with earthly and shallow desires that can only be achieved being cunning, egoistical, drive and insane desire to out shine everyone else and to delete competition. Between your primal animal urges and being a intelligent human being, and a good heart and soul, its all being throwin into chaos. So sometimes you by accident become someone else. Being confident only is respected when you have something to offer and love yourself but also know your worth. Problem is worth is in the eye of the beholder. So showing gentle, kind, gestures and being confident seems like repulsing to them, since they have probably insecurities that they think ur trying to abuse, causing your inner light to backfire.

I am tearing up as I write this. I am grateful to her as we all are, I am sure. I am reading Art of Seduction thoroughly jotting down my notes on the margins of the pages. Thank you so much for this video as there is too much noise regarding men's self-improvement. As a woman, I root for men and the fact you are seeing that young men my age (I am 1995 borne) feel directionless and are addressing it speaks volumes. Your voice in this space will bring some real sense of calm, strength and guidance to a lot of young men (and to young women like me). It's the same stuff I keep getting from everyone: "the only true good is virtue", which is true, but doesn't address the deep, pervasive alienation I'm immersed in.
Like, sure, all I can do is to keep going, but that doesn't address that I'm expected to live in a cold, uncaring world that is constantly conspiring to destroy me, and that I have to do it completely on my own, without any respite, brotherhood or filiality.
It feels disingenuous in the sense that it feels as if people are just telling me to shut up and go back to my nintendo (or back to work). As if I'm expected to be nothing but a secular, soulless golem of the industry. This is why everyone has this thousand mile stare now.

I agree 100% with this message, especially about sustaining and maintaining your power and wealth instead of being a one-hit wonder. As a Strategist in life, this is one of the most important aspects I can think of because it doesn't matter how much resources I have today if it can all be taken away from me tomorrow.
Thus, to be proactive and make decisions yesterday to create a better tomorrow is an absolute must in life, as well as having a long-term plan in terms of your job and career. Trust me on this one because I've been in the rat race for over 20 years earlier, and I've always ended up with little to nothing. I'm 38 years old and I STILL don't own my own house, so that says it all.
So no matter how many great job opportunities that are out there, they simply don't concern me unless they are both sustainable now, as well as in the future. That is the ONLY way to sustain what you have at all times. Also, saving and investing your money for the long-term to achieve financial freedom is also a must that everyone should take seriously.
By combining these two approaches and strategies in life, you will be MUCH better off in the long-term than to just grab whatever is right in front of you. Also, don't EVER think about having kids unless you are 100% financially stable or you will mess up your life. I've seen this happen to people throughout my whole life and they end up stuck and literally have to say YES to everything and everyone to survive, letting go of all of their personal power, freedom, and dignitiy in the process.
I promised myself all my life that I would NEVER end up like a sucker like that because like Robert Greene has pointed out in his own books, humans usually don't change their behavior unless they have to. Thus, humans also "don't care" unless they have to. It's not all that black and white of course but it is much of reality.
So yes, be strategic in life, make good and smart long-term decisions, and never flaunt your wealth to anyone unless you want to stirr up more hate and envy than necessary. Because believe me, that will come your way regardless whether you like it or not. Best to keep a close inner circle of trust then.

I found you through my subscription to Jordan Peterson's content and this just compounds my interest in what you have to say. It is so valuable to wield your manhood the way knights were trained to wield a sword, with the knowledge that you must practice long hours alone and with peers to avoid needlessly hurting self and to embody codes that prevent needlessly hurting others, protecting the weak, and the like. It always comes back to an "old fashioned" simile/metaphor but that's because they hold validity, men need to be defined as necessary, civilized, but powerful when necessary. As some others have said, the complete opposite of what many of us "coming of age" men were told either indirectly or directly by many growing up. Liked and sub'd, thank you for what you do.
