- Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC Ending - I did my best to spare Reed but you can't escape the plot. Gorilla Arms did the trick. This is one of the endings in Phantom Liberty. You will only get this ending via the Killing Moon quest where you have to side with Songbird aka So Mi.

its supposed to be a serious scene but the punch was hilarious lmao
Bonk
It was a serious scene with a serious punch
how do u able to punch him? mine always draw revolver and shoot....
@@TheFattyBoiHe probably faced that scene without any weapons in inventory and only with Gorilla Arms.
Bro punched him so fast he stopped his heart.
Bro gave him the five point palm exploding heart technique 💀
lmfao
Not having a heart rip with those gorilla arms should be a crime tbh
Kek.
That would actually fit in with this game a lot
@@Aristocratic13 I definitely would have loved more hand to hand finishers. Those pose the potential for the most variety in finishers rather than just giving us super slam and super throw lol.
"I..........I thought you were stronger..........."
hah, i got that reference!
Can’t wait for season 3. May even start reading the comics.
Im pretty sure Reed wanted to die anyway. Counting down to 3 is just his way of basically telling you to do it. He was the only one out of himself, Song, and Alex who had no ambitions and nothing to live for. He was a ghost walking and clung to his regrets.
Plus in all but one ending reed most likely doesn’t live long. Agree with him fully for him to live or have compassion and reed dies be it by your hands or most likely suicide by the end of the month
wait reed commits suicide? is that if i betray and kill songbird (mercy kill)?@@kevind3974
Also think he, in a way, wanted V to save her. He came without any backup, not even a sniper. What kind of rookie mistake that would be...
No, at this point his main goal was still to get so mi, and he also never knew what V was capable of ( FIA don't have much info on what V did/ his feats, except konpeki plaza heist ), reed really thought he could beat V the whole time
Dont agree, cos if Reed really thought like that - he`s just silly and bad agent. He defenetly saw Vi destroying little FIA army to get access to train. And he really thought he can handle it solo withoung support/chrome? No way man@@k4dow
Man those upgraded Gorilla arms sure pack a punch !!!
Did a complete run only with them (and some throwing knives), including the lead-up to this mission (so the battle at the train terminal in the airport).
Yep, they do :D
Cereberus
Jokes aside, I don't like their relic upgrade (mainly because everything dies before they're charged lol) but yeah gorilla arms are the best imo. Those things are real good and they ain't as hideous as mantis blades. Plus I just love punching my enemies.
You broke his heart, man :(
😂
Now that’s some next level emotional damage! LOL!
Gorilla arms the non lethal option. Because punching someone with enough force to stop a truck going full speed is considered a warning in Night City.
I silly. I play with gorillas currently on very hard. Those things shred people to pieces somehow. It's hard for me NOT to kill someone with them.
makes sense since every would-be-assailant in night city packs more subdermal armor than an armored truck
@@monkyk1ng There's just one "but". Armor does not protect internal organs from the kinetic energy of an impact. Even if we are talking about Smasher, his brain is still organic. This means that a strong enough blow to the head will be lethal. The fact that the armor withstood the blow and did not allow penetration does not negate the fact that the brain turned into tomato paste and the internal organs received multiple ruptures or tear off completely. It was for these reasons that in the middle ages people used crushing weapons against armor, which killed despite the fact that there was no penetration. The lack of penetration of the helmet will not help much because the skull under it has shattered like an eggshell and there is profuse hemorrhage in the brain due to torn blood vessels. So, technically, the most dangerous hand implants are gorilla arms.
I'm not sure about gorilla arms, but any other blunt weapon outright kills NPCs in about 30-50% cases, despite the game stating that blunt weapons aren't lethal lol. Never trust them desctiptions
I mean, he clearly faked his death there. Dude is bleeding from two places and neither one is where he got punched.
Reed: "I hate to break it to you, but you're not Morgan Blackhand"
V: "No, I'm V Blackfinger"
I think him going down like that makes sense. He’s being out of action for the past 7 years. He ain’t that super spy agent he used to be no matter how much his trying to convince himself and us for the opposite. Even throughout the whole DLC it’s always V and Alex who do the dirty work. The most he has done was snipping those Maxtac officers from ths rooftop and still managed to get injured during that mission
This makes a lot of sense. You even take out all the opposition when getting into the Black Diamond.
@@Aristocratic13 Except the one guy he snaps the neck of after punching through the wall he's leaning on.
@@vyse102He used the surprise factor to his advantage tho. Seriously “Firestarter” ticked me off so badly. He comes with a half ass plan, ignores all of V’s warnings and then sends V and Alex into the dragon’s den whilst he takes the backseat as usual.
I don’t want to waffle the same comment but there’s easily a non-psychological explanation for why he went down like that and it is pretty realistic in a world of complete fantasy.
@@shuckyducky7974Only that CDPR aren’t really the types that will just do smt randomly when it comes to their story telling especially not in this DLC. Reed isn’t as great as he thinks he is. Look how he handled firestarter or how done Myers is with him regardless the outcome
“I killed a man. Vith zis thumb”
Ah,Ratatouile reference. Culture of man,i see.
Now now, this brought a fine smile on my face before sleep.
Have your crown,king👑
Just put a thumb in it !
You can hear the pain in Reed's "two." He can't even bring himself to say "three."
Even when he does pull his gun, his face still shows he truly doesn't want to kill V.
I did the same thing, hoping it would just have just knocked him on his ass and not kill him.
And then you'd have no guarantee that Reed or the FIA wouldn't come looking for you to tie up loose ends.
@@Trussme96And what are they gonna do? Shoot V? HAH
"sorry but you're no morgan blackhand" *dies in one white overture bullet
the fact that reed in other ending tells V that he doesn't need backup to beat him and he's not morgan blackhand and here he does from a single punch
If that was Don't Fear the reaper V then Reed would be shitting his pants. Like, not everyday you encounter the man who: stormed arasaka Tower, killed Adam Smasher, destroyed Mikoshi and ruined Arasaka as the biggest corporation ever single handedly and dying.
@@notthedeadweightwtf does reed actually say if you get that ending?😂
@@VaughnGriffith-dy3ch Nothing. Unfortunately, the game continuity doesn't allow you to trash Arasaka then go to Dogtown and play the campaign there storywise. It resets you to before you meet Hanako at Embers.
@@darkjesterxiii still think thats a stupid game decision tbh you should still be able to play the game after its done
@@rangopistacho6928well he does send you a message in the credits if you let him live and completed that ending but he doesn’t say anything related to v becoming the only living legend of night city
V went from merc to full Omni-Man, punch right through Reed's body!
Reed is just like Takemaru. Reed = absolute devotion to FIA; Takemaru = absolute loyalty to Arasaka. Even despite the fact both organizations tried to kill them they still remain loyal and devoted. They both deserve the Darwin Award because if you don’t grow, change, or evolve you will eventually become extinct. And depending on your play-through both of them can possibly become extinct. In my opinion, Cyberpunk whole philosophy is centered challenging the system, rejecting established norms, the balance of technology, and raising a middle finger to [corrupt] authority. Reed and Takemaru seem to be antagonistic despite being a ally. I think that’s why Johnny don’t like them.
One last thing. Not to get too political but my close friend works at Apple. As of now Apple are trying to relocate as many of their employees to Austin, TX. Some think it’s because of the tax cuts they get out there so they are relocating a lot of assets there. Anyways, they are not really giving salary increases, travel compensation, or any other business means to adjust to the higher standard of living out there. Apple doesn’t care, why should it? It’s just another Arasaka or Militech as far as a business putting profit above all else.
yep very true.... except the Darwin award part... Darwin's awards are for those who do extremely stupid shit, not failure to evolve
I never hated Arasaka more until I finally ran the Devil ending and hearing Hellman call Misty’s Esoterica a shithole. Wanted to throw plans out the window and cut him unto shredded cheese right then and there. They’re a gross exaggeration of the rich and wealthy that have deemed the middle class and below obsolete and insignificant outside of personal gain and exploitation. Militech is an equal evil, supplemented by the support of a nation and its government. This is why Takemura will fight alone this time around when Saka ninjas come for Hanako (;
You can take the rat out of the corp…
Who is Takemaru lol
@@cyberdoge1857 he’s a comedian
Takemaru-san
I love how he says spare him the lines from Bushido 10 and then has a death scene straight out of Bushido 10. 🤣
Cyberpsycho V explodes Reed's heart via lovetap.
I see this as a nice ending for him
Reed was useless for NUSA, I mean he was just a tool, disposable for them. Even during the Tower ending we clearly see it
During the other endings were Songbird died. He speaks as if he wants to die to.
So killing him is setting him free. Not only from his job but from himself
Cause he even hinted that if NUSA doesn’t need him and fires him. He will still behaves the way he is now cause that’s all he is. So killing him is the best outcome
Also I love sending Songbird to space. Cause it is a big FUCK YOU to NUSA and the president for being assholes to reed and songbird and all the mess up and dark stuff they did in the past.
Like even if we “Help” them they see us as tools, they are using Songbird body (if we bring it to them) as a test subject for the blackwall and they barely give a Fuk about Reed.
So yeah… sending songbird is the biggest Fuck You to them
Songbird is also a btch to you, no ? She constantly lies to you. She doesn't really help you.
Sending Songbird to the moon is just good FOR HER, her entire plot is doing things for herself out of absolute egoism... but hold it: it's not because she's evil, it's because she's tired of being a tool.
The issue with that? Every single choice So Mi makes is wrong. She even tells you that pretty often in most endings... and going to the moon is wrong too, she's selling out apocalypse-level technology to an unknown party. It's another war, or wiping humanity off. She ALMOST does it with the Cynosure ending, where she's 99% of the way into becoming the conduit for the blackwall breach that wipes humanity.
@@Galf506 yeah but for those players who don’t know which is good
Even if it is pretty obvious
Or don’t care for songbird or Reed.
At least they have the option to either side with NUSA or fuck NUSA
And sending her to the moon is the best way to fuck them over
And technically like you said is also nice for her
And as a extra it is nice for Reed… he wanted to die a long time ago. So killing him is sad but also nice for him, cause he is free
From himself and his duty
No matter what we said he wouldn’t stop doing his job and he knew he hated it
So killing him is a nice way to end it all for him
@@Galf506The point is that she was a person who was turned into a living weapon, and she did everything in her power, right or wrong, to escape that. You can agree or disagree with her, but can you ultimately blame her?
eh i mercy killed her ngl only reason i betrayed her was so i could make the canto mk6@@gavo7911
Makes sense. if you punch a wall with those gorilla arms the concrete actually shatters. Imagine getting hit by one of those jack hammers in real life.
Random mooks on the street can take more than a single punch, I'd think a Super Spy could take more than one as well. Whoever thought level scaling was a good idea is an absolute moron that clearly never play Oblivion.
Funny thing is they are still somehow non-lethal.
@@DragonKnightX12yes, they are. It's only cyberpsychos who're getting knocked down, but they collapse like that even after a damn suicide quickhack.
If this made any sense, then after the impact, Reed's chest would either have had a hole through it, or part of it would have been completely torn off and turned into a layer of tomato paste on the floor.
While this ending is quite dramatic... It's also utterly narrative breaking that Reed can't even take a single shot.
especially with all the threats reed makes, saying how he could handle V without backup.
@@Sebastian-tf2gu Praised to hell and back.
The writers never met with the gameplay designer, or the quest designer.
This is how you make a videogame.
A masterpiece of our time.
@@Sebastian-tf2guif you hesitate, he zeroes you.
Also if you take the elevator when escaping the stadium he one shots you.
Pretty weird though that you each can only tank one shot...
most enemies die in 1 shot though
it's probably why the devs made his Iconic pistol a special tech pistol that fires all 3 shots at full power when charged
I realised that this entire time, Reed has a conflicted, painful and regreat face
If you finish the phantom liberty quest line and replay the final mission from the original quest , go with Panam for help infiltrating Arasaka tower you’ll get a dialogue with alt about songbird 😮
Even u hit his leg he will get a heart attack, what a potential football player
One punch made Reed kneel down and rethink about his life choices lmfao
Bro forgot to put on his best armor set before the fight 💀
Man i love seeing content of a game i started less than a week ago!
im pretty sure you cracked a rib
The way he drops to his knees perfectly mirrored Roy Batty. Whole shot feels like a spiritual successor to Bladerunner
That had to be a really powerful punch.
So he just becomes a one hit kill in this scene from any attack
Gawd love johny's final dialogue
Remember when Reed said V's no Morgan Black Hand and he doesn't need help taking him down?... I think he'll need a small army taking V down.
Only thing effective against V are cutscenes. Few moments before confronting Reed V just went through NUSA SpecOps.
@@SuhovAnd also some very skilled netrunner because V is fully chromed even in mid-game
@@skell6134 dunno, mine had only Kroshi and wiped the floor with NUSA combat netrunners.
@@Suhov Good for you, lucky playing without any armor ? XD
@@skell6134 I dunno, armor doing jack shit on very hard after 2.0 anyway. At 800 armor I died in three hits, without it in two.
the way he appears in this scene in the first playthrough is just a shock, this dlc is magnificent
Oh didn't know about this death anim, I shot him on the head and he just flopped over, sad ending for a stubborn old man hellbent on not changing his ways for the better, this was my first ending to PL and honestly I don't regret it, its probably the closest we can get to a "canon" ending as it would fit V's character.
Both So Mi and V is on the same spot, yeah sure she lied to you and honestly I wanted to dump her ass to NUS after that but then I just couldn't, we were too similar and one way or another someone has to at least have a happy ending.
Gave him the Dolph Lundgren Rocky IV impression!!
"If he dies, he dies."
One punch man😂
He's alive, he's just pretending
Death by mild shoulder punch. That's a new one!
lol when he just lightly taps him on the chest and Reed proceeds to bleed out. I was totally expecting a gun.
Damn, I didn't know it changed depending on where you shot him, in my play through I went straight for the head, and he instantly dropped, no fancy last words or anything.
it almost looked like you broke his throat with karate chop
“Too…damn..late.”
you just punched him once and he just died?!
Well, it seems that Reed had no will to live after all
He died of sadness 😢
Those are gorilla arms on a level 60 fully chromed cyberpsycho.
adult games adult consequences He said
"my blood he.. he punched out all my blood!"
V vs Reed like Bloodsport vs Peacemaker 😂
Reed:"How?"
V:"Smaller Bullets"
I have yet to meet one that can outsmart these hands.
I like how this has options. When I first did it I hit him right in the head, thinking I didn't want him to suffer any. Missed out on some dialogue
Random mooks on the street soak up bullets like nothing, Reed who is a super spy can't survive a single love tap.
Bro had a critical hit😭
Bro got hit with the hardest pressure point 💀
The strongest punch known to man LOOK AT HIS CHEST
That Gorilla Hand Cyberware is killer. One punch heart exploder. LMAO
Buddy caved his chest in 💀
My first time, I didn't even give reed a chance. I pulled my pistol and quickly put one in his head, and a second in his chest before the game forced me to put my pistol away. That playthrough V always honored first deals regardless of if a better one came. This playthrough I want to side with the NUSA.
man, sorta makes v look scary fast to go punching a man's heart out, breaking through their cybernetics and shit
Those arms are made of chromium and have in built hydraulics, you basically hit him with a hydraulic press.
Sir john phallustiff should be used for such epic standoffs
loyalty is a chain
reeds dyin in my every playthrough. One choice of dialogue says: V: song wont die(or smth like that) Reed: is that what you told jackie on the plaza?
Too far man. Youre dying
It's been 4 months since I finished the dlc but I still remember I was angry with Reed in that conversation.
Yeah Reed trying his NUSA manipulation techniques. The plaza would have a been a preem heist of old man Sebura hadn't 1 shown up and 2 Yoro hadnt zeroed him. Reed knew nothing, Jackie was hyped for it and knew the risks.
I remember on my first play through I wanted the new ending so I held my fist. On my second run through tho? I cracked him in the jaw with some zappy knuckles and actually shouted "KEEP JACKIES NAME OUT YO GOD DAM MOUTH"
Reed is weaker than Fingers lol, at least he survived his beating
This definitely played out more dramatically with me, because I actually did pull out my gun in a split second on “sorry man” and shot him in the chest.
nice shot v
v hit his chakra point.
On my first playtrough, I almost made the same, but first of all I verbally assaulted him, and I killed him with mono cable. Now I regret it, Reed is such an interesting character, didn't mean to die like that
I think he just pooped his pants and fainted. You didn't kill Reed.
Who're you!!!?
The goddamn Mike Tyson??? 😆
This is how it is trying to do non lethal with gorilla arms.
Imaginary technique: Gorilla arms
So basically, Reed join Donut squad with Ace, Rengoku, Kakyoin....
Realisticly there should be an option to incapacitate him without killing him. With a gun equiped with the "non lethal" module or something, or like you did, by just knocking him. It's a bit disapointing when tragedy are forced beyond in game logic.
They should never have added non-lethal options, they take away from the tragedy of Night City and break the narrative all the time. After I shot reed my first thought was "should I reload a save and use a nonlethal weapon" followed by "nah the game probably just ignores that"
Avon warned him about playing those away games.
Like I said numerous times best ending he calls you later if you shoot him. He acts like he doesn't understand but the face gestures in the holo makes me feel he was questioning himself while he said "I'll hunt you down"....yeah bro and what you'll be on my side later after I expose all the corpos! Y'all gotta remember pondsmith is getting old and probably wants to end his story before passing, then pass it down to his son ....j.s. all things lead back to BlackDog (look it up!)!
What the hell 😂😂😂 I was not expecting that
Damn, I didn't even know it was this dramatic cause I popped Reed in the head
Bro killed him with bullet from hands
Killing songbird while siding with reed is the best choice in my opinion
Huh, interesting. He has actual voice lines for dying if you don’t go for his head
Goddamn it... Black superman went down in one punch...
damn that's spiderman Mysterio way to go
V after with these gorilla upgrades became one punch man
Such a tragic scene but Idris's "two" fucking killed me
So thats what happens if you hit him in the torso. I’ve always tapped him in the noggin
Bro just roll a N20 with a punch.
Critical success
I did the same thing in my first playthrough
I liked Reed, despite everything but in the end he didn't take any of all the chances I gave him there
Reed is such a drama queen, lol. Going down from a little tap, lmao.
He dies like Roy, in Blade Runner.
how'd you draw the fist instead of that shitty revolver the game makes us use ?
Pressing ‘4’ on the keyboard selecting no weapons. He was wearing Gorilla-arms. If he was wearing Mantis-blades he’d stab Reed instead.
How my little brother reacts after hitting his shoulder 😂
I was expecting the explosive punch for some reason.
Panzer faust technique isn't joke
He really got killer billed
Tego Redzi nie przewidzieli xD
his reactions should be based on our slot 1 weapon that we use, also we use that weapon coolest finisher to end him. imagine if the dev is not lazy then added katana beheaded finisher to reeve and seeing his head fly into the air then rolled on the floor. the dev should also give us option to pick those decapitated head on the floor to be able to use them as throwing weapon so we throw them to the other enemies.
I think Reed faked his death so everyone could get away from the FIA without losing their lives. He might have been a loyal hound at one point but after seeing how his and Myers actions burned everyone on his team, he had to have realized that the FIA was nothing but a meat grinder.
What if you punch him with your bare fists? No gorilla arms
his death mimics the synthetic at the end of bladerunner anyone else catch that?
Wait I thought this moment was an instant death. It looked like a cutscene of sorts so I thought him killing you was scripted because I didn't shoot him.
He's being a tad bit dramatic after a love tap
