How would I make this container into a family so that I can use it in another project?

How would you do the short sides? When I do what I do for the long side it creates a chequered pattern on the roof

Hi Nina! You can import it using this technique (not a family, but you can place one project into another): czcams.com/video/l9QTGh5LraQ/video.html

I’m having trouble the levels of my structure, I can’t see it from the roof level plan and the roof is not showing up in the 3D View!

A few things you can try:
      1) make sure you are in a floor plan and not a ceiling plan
      2) Try going into your properties for the view and checking what your view depth is
      3) Turn on underlay in properties if / when you need to reference other levels
      Roof not in 3D
      1) check to see if you have a crop box on, you can turn off the 3D crop box in properties for the view and another crop box can also be turned off at the bottom of your model screen.
      2) click on the light bulb at the bottom of your screen to see if your roof is hidden
      3) type “v v” (no space) and check the graphic settings for the 3D view and make sure roofs are being shown

I cannot figure out why my outer lines are very thick. I cannot see anything in the wall sections because the outer lines are so thick. I am not able to do anything with the cut planes

I think you’ll need to change your scale for the view, sounds like it’s at a small scale right now. You can do this in properties palette or at the bottom left of the screen.

      @@Studio_Hero my scale is 1/8" = 1'-0"

      Try 1/2” = 1’

You can also go to the view tab and click on “thin lines”, that will take off the line weight but won’t change how it will print.

Do you do any consulting? If so, how do I contact you? I have a capstone project where I need to design a studio in two shipping containers, and I need a 3D model in Revit. Thanks!

Hey Mikael, unfortunately due to my current schedule I am unable to take on any further work for a while. I hope you understand, and thanks for your interest!
