- Welcome to the first DA62 video on this channel. I am flying IFR from Cannes, France to Wiener Neustadt, Austria. I had to deal with some weather in the end, which made this flight quite interesting. But with the well equipped DA62 this was no problem. Thank you for watching!

Im flying DA62 in Flight Simulator and its amazing how acurate the instruments and functions are. Seeing the real thing takes it to the next level, great video, appreciated!
I join, also one of my favorite planes in the simulator
@@vladsafronov5952 👍
we should do a race one day ;)
@@MickeLang Youre on. ;)
Whats the simulator? MSFS or X-Plane?
Very nice landing at the end... we don't get to see that kind of approach very often :-)
I call it the „Kai Tak of Europe“ 😜
@@MickeLang Kai Tak of Europe clearly is the W-RWY19 Approach in LIPB since there is even a Checkerboard! 🤩
Very interesting video! Thanks for sharing! I love DA62!
Thanks Mate! It‘s a great plane!😊
Very nicely done. Beautiful aircraft too.
Flying my absolute dream aircraft here. Great video.
Great stuff here. A good pilot is always learning so there's that and Thanks for sharing with us.
True words!
Thanks for watching Bob!😊
Das war super interessant und spannend, glaube ich gerne, dass das challenging war! Super gemacht, vielen Dank fürs Teilen!
Vielen Dank Frank☺️
My favourite aircraft in MSFS. Thanks for sharing this.
Great decision making!! Looks fun! Would love to do some of these ferry flights! Pretty nice flight deck in the 62! WX radar certainly helps aid the decision making!
Love your aircraft! Good video and nice job navigating the weather.
I've never seen such as this enjoyable content before! What a challenging weather, I bet if the autopilot can do all this hard work alone ;)
Great video as always. Very interesting to see “for real” IFR in European flying. The console by your right hand for the MFD looks really nice. Also thanks for pointing out the Austrian F1 track!
Thank you Trevor! The keypad is a nice feature 😉
Great video, really interesting to see your decision making on a challenging flight!
Thanks😊👍🏼
Toll geflogen! Danke für das Video. In MSFS ist die DA62 derzeit mein bevorzugter Flieger. Konnte mir einiges abschauen! Besonders das Garmin Keypad ist genial.
The landing approach is awesome, nice landing.
So glad to see another video!! I thoroughly enjoy watching you fly the DA 62!!!! I have watched your crossing the Atlantic from Austria to Ontario many times and your crossing in the DA42!!! Keep them coming man friend!!!
Thanks you Dave! Next series will be an 62 crossing 😊👍🏼
How many miles were involved in that flight?
That landing! Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Blake!
Great job as always !! 👏👏👏👏👏
Gracias Carlos😍😊
i Enjoyed the vIdeo great work love the DA Aircraft
the most chilling pilot i have ever seen! keep it up!
And the Oscar goes to 🎊🎉! Nice job
Sehr spannender Flug
Danke fürs mitnehmen ❤
Danke fürs Ansehen😊
Hi Micke, thank you for sharing! Your best video yet! Even without the Austrian ATC it is very educational. All this fancy equipment makes it look easy. But I know it is not.
Thanks!🙏🏼
Equipment and the controllers helped a lot in this one!👍🏼 Thanks for watching!
wow what a landing.... amazing job!
Sehr interessant! Danke für das kompetente Video!
Freut mich und danke fürs Ansehen😊
Interesting video ! Thank You, this is fun to watch.
Thank you😊
What a Cool Landing view, nice work :)
Thank you😊
Fantastic I loved this
Thanks Micke! Interesting video and great decision making :)
Thanks Joeri!😊
Sporty base to final, love it!
🤘🏼😉
Good flight management. Nice work Micke.
Thank you Philip😊
Sold my 58P Baron and will pickup my Diamond DA 62 in a few weeks. Thanks for allowing me to observe you flying the 62. Wow, flying with the Garmin 1000nxi glass cockpit looks so easy and enjoyable to fly. Love the simplicity of the power quadrant etc. BTW, your flying mannerism is almost like how I fly. My base is California and I fly the western states, Canadá and Mexico. I just love the space in the D62 with the great open views. You seem to use the O2 mask with ease which provides me comfort that I will have no problem using it.Using my pressurized 57B was simply great. In short, I am gladly leaving twenty century cockpit “steam gauges” and awkard knobs and dials. Hope your flying years to come are pleasant and enjoyable and I hope to mirror your twenty first flying adventures.
Just read your other comment, just turned into weeks now, will it be in Austria? :)
Your final was simply amazing !
The final for RWY09 in LOAN is pretty cool yes😊
Love the DA62 what a beautiful plane.
I do agree👍🏼
Yes it's fantastic they just let it down not pressurising it
I would absolutely love to sit next to you for a flight and actually see the autopilot and pilot co-managing the flight. I've flown like 60 times, but casual flights. I have to say that this would be the most amazing birthday gift 😁
Ótimo vídeo. Parabéns.
Nice job avoiding the weather and great landing!
Thank you😊
Yes have a good day sir
Magnifique 🤩
Excellent landing approach!
Thanks!
Nice job! Good to have all this stuff)) I had to pass some thunderstorms only with stormscope on board and this was interesting..=) Like hunting in the night. Would like to have WX radar)))
I can feel you😉
Hello Micke -
you have chosen some very nice music here ... and found a wonderful camera setting - tiptop ... (it looks nice how you are fulfilling your dream - keep it up 👍)
Thank you Ralph😊
Wow that's a really nice aircraft 🤩
Loved the video Micke as usual ! Cannes is a very nice airfield ! Indeed a lot of money flying there
Thank you for watching :)
Man that was great, I am not a pilot, I just love airplanes. You are a bright smart young man, respects !!! cheers my friend...
Thanks for the nice words😊
Enjoyed the video thanks, nice fighter approach to landing as well 👍
Thanks 😊
Great flight, I could only dream of the privilege to operate an aircraft like that.
Richtig schönes Flugzeug. Bin neidisch 🙂
That was cool . I learned a lot from watching this.
thanks for watching :)
Hehe, the French hate to keep to english on radio comm's, they don't care if it is international standard :)
Oh I know😂
You don’t travel a lot, you could ear others languages in ATC communications
actually its allowed in France to talk in their native language in ATC
Sécurité appartement n’est pas une priorité
In the past, the French had already caused a plane accident on the ground of airport because they spoke French among themselves and the third person didnt understand. Completely unnecessary.
Brilliant video!
Thanks Bjørn😊
Awesome Video!!
Nice landing!!
Dude you killed the preflight and run up check like it was melting butter 🧈 wow! Great landing and aviation skills!
Thanks Justin :) But to be honest I do it almost every day so that's where the routine comes in ;)
it looks really smooth and almost luxury car like
Like some others watching this, I'm here as a flight simulator player who has only ever had the chance to fly a virtual version of this aircraft, and my god what a beauty the real thing is. In the game it feels so incredible to handle, I can only imagine how much fun it must be flying the real thing. Dream goals for if I ever have that kind of money to splash around.
Side-note but I like the built in checklist function those Garmins have, the ones in the simulator annoyingly don't have that feature so I have to have it all written down.
Spannender Flug! Habe gesehen, dass du viel den Datalink nutzt-hatte immer den Eindruck dieser sei eher eine Notlösung für Flieger ohne Radar. Anscheinend nicht - wieder was gelernt 😃
Best use of equipment 😉
Ist ein super tool für ein Gesamtbild👍🏼
Good to see all of the weather data being used like that Micke, it just highlights what a great machine it is. Was the lightening far away? Stormscope didn’t seem to pick it up. Great work as always.
It is! Even used the TKS but did not show it here. I saw some around me😉
Thanks Jim! 😊
Very interesting thanks for the intuitive explanation… thinking about flying…but what is that on your face
Very good looking and capable. I mean the plane. But you're good too Micke 😁
I know that you mean the plane😜
Another great video
Thank you😊
Awesome video please make more videos like these ❤
Wilco, thanks😊
Great video!! Congrats!!
thank you Luis :)
That is a sexy plane. Love the lay out.
Same!
what a cool plane!
Excellent job! :)
Thank you very much! ☺️
You made a great video. I think non pilot can have now an idea of an workload of small airplanes. I explain that autopilot thing more as an bus driver (line pilot),cab driver (commercial) , and road driver ppl/ifr as smaller the airplanes get as less automatization they have. the DA62,42 is a dream compared to traditional airplanes (PA32, baron etc) so autopilot is more for relaxing and supporting you as pilot in small airplanes not for totally making pilot redundant
Thank you Thomas for the nice comment 😊
Beautiful landing
Thanks a lot!
Hast Du ein Tolles Leben und Arm bist Du sicher auch nicht ! 😀Geiles Video und tolle Landung ... weiter so !
Ich habe das Glück das machen zu können was ich immer machen wollte. Bin weder arm noch reich, just a regular guy doing his job. Der Kommentar war auf die großen Privatjets bezogen und ja da ist der Eine oder Andere auch kein muss☝🏼
Danke fürs Ansehen😊
Ferry Flying looks super fun!
It is! Thanks for watching!
very nice flying !!
Thank you😊
Da hat man selbst auf dem Sofa beim Mitfliegen das Höschen voll, super gemacht.
😂😂😂😂😂 danke😊
a wonderful aircraft.
it is!
17:46 the dramatic decision making music was a nice touch :)
😉😜
Nice Tear Drop Landing
Awesome content mate ☺️
Thanks😊
Wow the Aircraft so stunning
the DA62 is nice yes ;)
man's got a flight simulator inside the plane SHEEEEEESH
cool plane gotta say 👍
Wow, nice turn into short final. :)
That’s the famous LOAN RWY 09 approach😜
Nice flight
Spannend.👍
sär gos nassing ouver a gut ekzent..it meks mi ifen mor kul...😎
Hi Micke!
Sehr cooles Video. Eine Frage hab ich. Warum darf man den ATC nicht ins video nehmen?
great video!
Thanks!
Another great flight! Too bad about not hearing ATC.
Thanks😊
Awesome video, so much learning for us that have not done as much weather flying!
Question, how do you keep your GoPro's running for so long?
Thanks Michael!
I always film for about 20-25 minutes and then I charge them with the usb ports in the plane. 😊
Hi Micke, it requires extreme care in descending to mountainous areas in thunderstorm and rainy weather. Because during storm, there are instant changes and you may suddenly lose visual referans with the ground and terrains. Believe me , it is very difficult to turn back to IFR flight again at that point, if you don't have previously planed a "BACKUP" plan!!! Unfortunately, there are many crashes that happen because of this in General Aviation. While flying in this type of weather conditions, it is very important for flight safety that you keep the IFR flight to the minimums for the relevant approach, request radar vectors to avoid weather if necessary, concentrate completely on instrument flight and weather around you and use automation as much as possible... Don't hesitate to disturb the Air Traffic Controller's because that's their job... When flying alone, their help will be like the co-pilot sitting next to you, please disturb them :) Then, when you land safely, you go to them and get something to drink ;) Have a safe and fantastic fights...
He's a professional ferry pilot. He knows how to execute a safe flight.
Hi Can,
I believe I did exactly that what you wrote here😊
Thanks for watching!
BR Micke
@@MickeLang Exactly Micke, you certainly handled the situation very well. My intention wasn't to judge you, it was just contribute to your video as your colleague. Let's call it colleague solidarity... Sometimes, some things in videos can be misunderstood by the viewers. My comment was not about what you did, but to emphasize the difficulty and seriousness of the conditions you are in and how does a pilot handle it as you did...
(On the other hand, your videos are really superb, please keep going, many thanks)
@@cansiltu2625 I did not feel judged at all so all is fine😊 Thank you Can😊
Niiiiice landing ;)
thanks :)
Servus ! cool video ! Let me know when you're back to Cannes, I'm in a flight school at the airport :)
Thanks Bonny!
Good video Micke.
thank you😊
Hey Micke! Very interesting flight indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Is the RNAV 27 into LOAN used often?
Thank you Niklas,
Yes, especially in winter times when we have fog the approach is used often.
BR Micke :)
Wow, good video I like it.
Thank you very much!
What a great experience. Could I ask, why did you switch languages while speaking to ground control over Austria?
"crazy to see how much money is flying around" - worrrd!
DA62,is beautiful.
It is😊 Thanks for watching!🙏🏼
Gut gemacht...
Danke
Hello Micke, thanks for the great video. One question, though: Why did you choose to avoid the weather below (mainly in VMC), instead of staying at level 140 or even higher, with all the onboard weather data? What is your experience when circumnavigating ISOL CB embedded, as it seems the situation was during your flight? Thanks for a feedback! Cheers, René
Good question,
because the destination airport was kind of under the big cell and and I wanted to avoid descending through that.👍🏼
What I can say is that I would not recommend to fly through them😂
BR Micke
Maybe worth to mention : for the "normal" general aviation (microlights or MTOW up to 2 tonnes) the two prominent airports (Cannes-Mandelieu and La Mole) are now way to expensive (landing and handling) since they are operated by a "private" company.
No problem of course, if you can afford the jet and the yacht...
I fully get your point here☝🏼
Hey Captain ! you are awesome and ladies would say handsome)))
haha if you say so Jenya ;) See you next time in LOAN ;)
tolles video
danke
Cool breakthrough in the narrow lid between the clouds and mountains )) Why VFR approach were prefferable for ATC than IFR in this case? Several times you mentioned - oh , it's good I see the ground, I can go VFR. By bother VFR and not enjoy automatic ILS approach or something like this?
Thanks Pavel, easy answer, that’s because Wr. Neustadt is a VFR airport😉
