I've had so many panic attacks and anxiety, derealization and depersonalization episodes that I just don't entertain them anymore,
They do hit me { for about 2 - 3 minutes}
The use to hit me for 1+ hours , but I'm at the stage where they don't bother me anymore, as soon as I feel an episode coming on , I do just remind myself of all the other episodes and what the outcome was ............. Nothing , I was fine , they ain't gonna kill me ,
What's the point in worrying , it will only shorten your life than increase it
{ easier said than done }

I've done deep breathing exercises before, in through the nose & out through the mouth, but never while clenching every muscle in my body that I could. When I did this a couple of times while watching this video, I did feel some release of tension. I'm going to start doing this a few times each day at various times to see how it goes. I have a feeling it'll help a lot, especially when I'm feeling particularly tense & anxious, as I have been a lot more often the past several months. Thanks for sharing this & other videos with us all. :)

Brilliant one Doctor! I am post lung cancer and struggle with cachexia/breathing is hard, and I intensely watch these. My first time with this technique - I mostly felt the intensity of my muscle tension literally shake with the releasing ... but the second time (next breath) a VERY different effect - my mind by itself went to that powerful vibration, almost a very "tantra-esque release", "orgasm" which i believe is partly because the "tense, hold, release' part is nearly the same in certain practices Very useful!

Frequently focus your mind on anything that is good about your life or good about yourself. The frequency/feeling of appreciation or gratitude creates stability, comfort and abundance if practiced consistently. Whenever your mind starts worrying or thinking anything negative gently start focusing on anything you appreciate about your life or about yourself. I recommend subscribing to Michael Beckwith's youtube channel. He is very uplifting and often deep too.

I've tried PMR( Progressive Muscle Relaxation) several times before, but I always fail to tense some of the muscles necessary for complete relaxation.
I might give this a try, but its still difficult to target some muscle groups due to lack of body awareness towards them.

Hi Dr. Mendell, thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have a query , I been having Gout attacks frequently on my ankle. I work for aviation industry. I am always on the run. My uric acid is at 7.7, however I do follow a balanced diet. My fruit consumption is slightly higher though, is fructose causing this..? Been resorting on anti inflammatory and pain killers for few weeks. It’s recurring. Need your advise🙏 thanks
