Assume you’ve visited the Dragonby mines Uncle lived in Dragonby and worked in the mines when they were in full working order 1971/2 I worked on the conveyor line between the Lisights steel works and the new Anchor plant. Nice to see you back on the land
Ennoyed the video very much. Nice to see landwork happening. Does anyone pull a furrow press with the plough these days? I had a 5 furrow KV turnover plough with press that we could just leave until we wanted to drill. Allowed good drainage.
Another great video from down on the farm this week. It's not everyone who can say that they have an iron ore mine under their farm. Do you get compensation for the 60 acres of land you can't work now ? Also it was a pity that you were not allowed to film down the mine as your description of the place and the equipment that had been used in it was very interesting Maybe it's just as well the land is fenced off now as I saw sinkholes are appearing in fields with HS2 tunnels under them. Also, it's good to see that you're getting the spring crops in the ground now after all the wet weather you've had.
Another good post and interesting on the technology, do ypu prefer ploughing on the Flat, or in the furrow? The technology is taking away lots of the skill i personnally think. Yet its a skill setting it up
Thanks for another great video jd like poetry in motion watching that fendt sowing 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Great to see some field work being done 👍
Thanks 😊. Not sure on the compensation. It was a very interesting place. It was good to be back on the land.

Thank you, to much rain 😂😂
It's nice to see a some drilling being done at last, fingers crossed for you.
Thanks. We have everything crossed that it will stay fine soon.
Great drilling conditions, the land plowed over lovely

Thanks, Yes we did. We have had a good week
@@JDautopower do you remember the old drag line they had in the open cast iron ore mine ?
Yes I remember seeing it as a child. It was called Marion I believe.

Thanks. Yes people still use furrow presses, I’ve used one a lot, they save a cultivation and firm the ploughing up nicely. We could do with one.

Great video, been away a couple of weeks CZcams algorithm decided to unsubscribe me from your channel, glad to be back 👍
Thanks, I’m glad your back to, thinking I’d done something wrong! 😂😂😂😂

Thank you. Personally I prefer ploughing on top, so it keeps compaction out of the furrow bottom.
How do you decide when to start applying fertiliser, is it soil temperature, weather conditions or just go by dates?
It’s a bit of all what you mentioned, a lot depends on the season.
Fantastic what a privilege to go down the mines. Also how long did you drill for wet wet for me down on the boston fens
It was a privilege 😊
We only drilled for a day, and it was on sand.
