A Historic Bologna Sandwich, Historic Wigwam Village #2, Mammoth Caves NP and Rock Cabin Camping

- I drove The 55 to the RM Brooks Store in Robbins, TN.
It's a little general store that's been there for over 100 years.
It was built in 1917 and is currently run by 4th generation family members and it's on the National Register of Historic Places.
It’s famous for its “Tiffany” bologna sandwich so I had to have one.
Then we made our way to Historic Wigwam Village #2 in Cave City, KY.
Up to Mammoth Cave National Park - National Park #30 for us!!
We spent the night at Rock Cabin Camping.
The little rock cabins were hand built in 1928 and they're super cool.

I have watched all the episodes of the RM Brooks Store on the @The Appalachian Channel and came across your video because I watched those I would assume. That was awesome you got to go there. I would absolutely love to eat there...Tiffany seems to be a fantastic individual. I hope you enjoyed the bologna sandwich, she sure does cut off a huge chunk of bologna for that sandwich. I love the history of that place and all the history inside of the building, the Post Office and all the memorabilia etc.

@@jeffthisted After watching the other videos I love other peoples takes on the same place, topic or in my case cooking/grilling food as well, same type of situation, different topic. No matter what you do on CZcams everybody puts their own creativity into their videos and the same for the RM Brooks videos I've seen. I really enjoyed your video on your experience at the store. I really appreciate your take on your experience and I believe when you say Tiffany and her daughter were awesome. I’m nothing if not authentic in my passion for the great American road-trip. Where’s your restaurant or favorite BBQ joint?
@@jeffthisted Back in the day, before I knew better I thought, for example, Famous Dave's type restaurants or any restaurant that served bbq ribs etc was real bbq. Even though it tastes good the sauce shouldn't make bbq. Smoked meat should make bbq with the sauce as the enhancer but not the main smoke flavor. The meat has to be infused with the smoke so you get that great smoke flavor. My choice nowadays is to got to local bbq only "restaurants" that smoke their own meats, you know, when you pass a bbq joint and the smoker is blazing away in front of the restaurant or they have mammoth smokers in the back smoking the meat. Those are my types of bbq joints as I have learned what real bbq is all about by learning the process. The "regular" places are ok for people that don't know any better I guess but real bbq is either home smoked or at one of the local bbq pit restaurants I've described.

The sauce shouldn’t make the meat. You know it’s good bbq when it doesn’t need any sauce!! Author Bryant’s is one of my favorites!!
That 55 looks burnt orange UT Longhorn color on my video. That may get you in trouble in Tennessee.

@@jeffthisted Tiffany is a very nice and interesting person. She is personally plus. If you would have spoken to her while she made your sandwich, that would have been fantastic. She is also famous for her fried pies and her milkshakes.
