@OurNationalAdventure I usually stay south of Atlanta. I can't take the traffic in Atlanta. So my trail of choice is the 23 mile (PMT) Pine Mountain Trail at FDR State Park.

Neither can I - Atlanta traffic can eat most of the day and leave you exhausted before you even arrive ! Lol

Beautiful video! Is the drive to the lodge a winding road?

I remember it being more steep than winding- it cannot turn because the falls are on one side.
Getting to the park itself, yes depending on where you are driving from. But once inside the park it's one road all the way up- and it's definitely more of a very steep drive.

I want to go for my b day. How did the kids do on the hike to the falls . Was it hard for the kids ?

It will be hot in July, so go early ♡
There are 2 options. One is a very easy stroll to the falls from a parking lot half way up, which I would probably opt for in the heat. The other is from the bottom up all the stairs. We did the easy option here and the kids were fine. ♡ we have a full video hiking with the kids from the bottom up-- it's def a stair master work out ♡ depending on weather the bottom up is a great hike for the cooler months.
