Cook on 350 F for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Serve with egg noodles and your favorite vegetable.

Hey Barry, great name mine is the same. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
I love trying new recipes, even though they don't always work out. THIS recipe most definitely did. My husband asked to keep it in the rotation. It just gives you a unique flavor profile you probably never had. Thanks to the crazy person who came up with this combination.
We're so glad you tried it and liked it!! Completely agree about the flavor, there really isn't anything else quite like it.
Omg yall,i cooked it for supper tonight. Its the most delicious chicken ive had. Thank you for the video, i will be making it again.
Thanks for letting us know how it turned out, really appreciate it! Glad you like the recipe. Hope we can bring you some more delicious ideas!!
Not three ingredients I would have imagined, but I'm going to have to try it 😁
For sure they seem to be an odd combination but you are going to love it.
100% agree.
Want you to know that I made this tonight. It was outstanding! Will cook again for sure!
Thanks for letting us know, that's awesome! So glad you liked it. Have a great day! 😊
We make Sweet and Sour chicken dish (similar to this) BUT use Russian Dressing, Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce and French Onion Dry Soup mix. Same thing!
Cool, we'll have to try it with the whole cranberries sometime. Thanks Margie!
I forgot about that recipe. I’m going to make that again.
Wow this recipe sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing
No it isn't😂
I make that with apricot jam instead of cranberry. And serve it over rice.
You’re a natural teacher and speaker. I’m totally trying this recipe. Thank you. 👏🏼👍🏼
Thank You for the kind words. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Let me know what you think when you get a chance to give it a try.
Looks and sounds yummy. I will be making this with chicken thighs. I can’t wait to try it.
Thank you Laura, we know you'll love it. 😊
I want to try with boneless skinless thighs…how did it turn out for you?
I once tried a recipe that I thought wasn't going to be good.
Cubed pork (bite sized).
Marinade was a packet of good seasons, horseradish, orange marmalade. It was delicious.
Sometimes the unexpected combinations work the best. Thanks for the comment Silas!
Man, now that is a throwback recipe! I used to make this in the 70’s but haven’t even thought about it in years. Looks yummy! 😋
Glad we could remind you of it, let us know if you end up giving it another try!
I made this tonight (9/5). It’s amazing! Great flavor and the chicken legs were super tender and juicy! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Definitely gonna make it a regular basis!
Thank you for your video. Well done. Meat is so expensive these days and I’m always buying chicken but running out of ways to cook it. That sounds really good and it looks great. Going to try it!
It is easy to get stuck in a rut. Easy to cook the same ol' same ol'. I will do what I can to keep out of the ordinary chicken recipes coming your way. Thanks for the Comment and for taking the time to watch the video.
I make baked chicken all the time. I was surprised but intrigued with the ingredients for the sauce. Definitely giving this a try! Looks delicious 😋
The ingredients sound like an interesting combo but we can vouch for just how good it is. Hope you like it Mary, let us know what you think when you make it!
This looks PHENOMENAL. Won yourself a new subscriber. Will def be trying this. Love the egg noodle idea…not the biggest rice fan. Looks amazing.
We love egg noodles here too, this is our favorite dish to have them with. Enjoy the dish when you do give it a try, and thanks for the sub! 😎
I still believe that one of the best kitchen utensil inventions was the SPATULA ❣️
You don't waste a drop! 👍🏻
I'm definitely gonna try this ❣️
I started using leftover cranberry sauce from thanksgiving, years ago in my BBQ sausages and meatballs, instead of grape jelly! It's better than the grape, and i will use just about any kind of jelly... especially plum. Tart jelly is so much better than the sweet grape!
😅😊😊
Good to the last drop.😊
Gonna have to invest in a good spatula if this CZcams thing ever takes off. LOL. Sounds like you're pretty inventive with the cranberry sauce! Let us know if you try out this recipe and how you like it. Thanks for the comment!
Funny because I was thing I would use BBQ Sauce instead of the French Dressing.
I tried this recipe with a spicy twist. I substituted the original French dressing (orange color) with the Wishbone Sweet and Spicy French dressing (red color). If you like sweet and sour chicken, you'll like this. I did lightly season my meat with garlic and onion powder and a little black pepper before pouring the sauce over it. The end results was so delicious with a sweet barbecue like taste. I used chicken thighs since I already had them in the frezzer. I initially set the cook time for 1hr and 30 minutes at 350 temp, but at 20 minutes cooktime remaining, I started to smell the sauce burning a little around the edges of the bake pan so I removed it from the oven at 1hr and 10 minutes cook time. It was ready and tender. I definitely will cook this on a regular. 👍🏽😋
I love it and will definitely try it...this is not a complaint, but a 'foolish request'...I so would like to see you cut into the chicken and maybe even take a bite! It's like something is missing at the end of any recipe when we don't get to experience that part!❤
You're right, we'll have to remember to show off our work when we finish cooking next time! Thanks for the suggestion 😎
@@HowtoMakeaQuick Aww, thank you for your amazing channel.

We do a similar recipe , coat the chicken with Catalina Dressing , salt & pepper on top , bake , - " Chicken Monterey "😎
Yeah, Catalina works really good too! Thanks for jumping in with a comment 😎
Catalina salad dressing was the used in Taco Salad in the old days.

Thank you. You make cooking so easy.
Thank you for watching the video and leaving a nice comment!!
I am wondering if is better with onions, the spices listed on the soup mix, and cranberries with some chicken stock. Maybe a little orange juice too.
Hey, give it a try, let us know how it turns out! Always fun to mix things up. Thanks for watching!
Looks Delicious! I'm going to give it a whirl. Wish I would have seen this before I made my legs and thighs yesterday.
Murphy's law but next time. Let me know how it turns out for you. Thanks for watching.
looks like a great recipe. will give it a try for sure. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for jumping in with a comment, hope you love it when you try it! Let us know what you think!
We use wish bone Russian dressing, apricot preserves and dry onion soup, delicious!
I gotta give it a try with the Apricot. Sounds really good.
We make this frequently! Great recipe.❤
So good!!! Thank You for watching.
It looks good. I'd be tempted to take the sauce out and thicken it with some corn starch but it tastes the same. I have that exact same stove. I hate it because of the digital pad I'd rather have a knob for my oven. I can understand a knob. LOL
Yup absolutely agree with the knob deal, couldn't find one with just knobs. Hope you like it Lenny! Thanks for jumping in.
@@HowtoMakeaQuick I live in an apartment so I didn't have a choice. lol
Good evening, I have just seen your recipe and I am going to try it. It is a little weird mix, but it looks good. I look for easy ways to make food.

It looks yummy , going to make it tomorrow ❤
Thanks Connie, we know you're gonna love it! Enjoy!
I've had this before and it's called Cranberry Chicken ... and the recipe usually uses Catalina salad dressing instead of French. Regardless, it's tasty and different! :)
My family LOVES Catalina dressing! Yes, I'll try it
We call it cranberry chicken at the house too, we've subbed catalina dressing for the French dressing in the past when it was out of stock at the store. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
Amazing thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, we really appreciate it!
That looks good, im definately gonna give it a try when i get home
Sweet, we hope it’s a hit! Thanks for the comment.😄
This is a delicious recipe. Tho I use Catalina, its lighter. I used to make this frequently until sodium became an issue.
I totaled up the sodium and it is only about 210 mg. Daily allowance is 2300 so should not be a problem.
Moms recipe is similar. Russian dressing, onion mix and jar of apricots jam. I
There seems to be 2 recipes for this dish and I have not tried the one with the Apricot yet so I will be giving that a try for sure. Sounds Delicious.
Thank you!
Thank you for watching, plenty more to come! 😊
Yummy 😮 im going to try this, I’ll use thighs it has better meat, i think. Thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutely thigs are a great choice. Thanks for checking out the vid. Have a Great weekend.
This looks great! I despise cranberry sauce so won’t be making this. But will be trying to come up with a substitute for if!
Hey Jennie, you might want to give this a try anyway. With the addition of the French dressing and the French onion soup mix it does not taste like cranberry. If you decide to go ahead and give it a go let me know what you think.
I also HATE cranberry sauce. This tastes amazing and completely different
@@familyof1052 So glad you like the recipe. The cranberry sauce flavor does just kind of blend with the rest. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

It really is amazing, unexpected combo but it absolutely works. We hope you love it!
That sounds great. A must try. Question, does that finished sauce go well with Mashed Potatoes? Maybe with a little thickener?.
We've never tried that combo but I most certainly don't see why not. Let us know what you think if you end up giving it a try!
Looks perfect.thank you so much!🙂

Great drumstick recipe! Thanks super yummy! Will be trying your moist chicken breast next.
I forgot to mention in the chicken brining video to rub some olive oil on the chicken after washing of the sale water so ad that step. Thank you for taking the time to leave your input. Have a great day.

Definitely check it out if you haven't already, you'll never bake chicken the same way again. Thanks for watching!
Looks good!
Thank You so much. It is a regular showing on the dinner table for sure.
Looks yummi
Why yes, yes it is. 😎
Is it possible to reduce the recipe for 2 servings? If so, would the heating times need to be adjusted, thx
You can likely use a smaller can of cranberry sauce, and cut the french onion soup mix in half, cut the French dressing to around a quarter of the amount. We're not sure exactly how long it'll take to bake off, but we always recommend using a thermometer and cooking by temperature if possible. Hope you're able to try it! Let us know how you like it!
I'll try it with pork chops. 😊
Hmmm? Never thought of that but it sounds like a good idea. I am going to give it try for sure. Thanks for the idea. Let me know how it turns out for you.
My family has been doing a similar recipe for as long as I can remember…. Everything is the same except we use orange marmalade instead of cranberry sauce…. We call it orange chicken.. super simple.
Also we just dust the chicken with the onion soup mix then drizzle the French dressing on top of that then finally spoon the orange marmalade over the top and right into oven covered for first 20min. Half a jar of marmalade 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing your family's rendition of the recipe, we're always happy to hear a spin what we fix around the house. Hope you enjoyed, let us know if you give our way a try. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
Doing this dish tomorrow! I only have large chicken breasts, 3 lbs boneless skinless. I will brine them lightly overnight. But wondering about the temp & cook time. Any recommendations anyone?
We have another video on how to brine and bake your chicken breasts, be sure to check that one out! We do ours at 350º for around 25 minutes (checking to be sure temp is at 165º). Thanks for the comment and questions 😊
We use to call this “Russian Chicken!” (But used Russian Dressing).. I don’t think they make that dressing anymore!!
I think you are right. I was looking for Russian dressing the other day and no go for me.
This works & u really could experiment with some different Dressings ( But the dressing is already prepped for u)
Thanks Jerry, appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
@@HowtoMakeaQuick No problem..I cook some,so this is a good idea .I think I might like to Marinate the Chicken in a Bag ( overnight in the Refrigerator) But ur idea is rapido.👍
I was thinking that Catalina dressing would work as well?
@@jimthompson5612 Yep,I think most would ( to ones preference of course) I'm gonna do this, because it works& save time..u could add some Onions & Peppers, but remove them earlier to prevent them from being cremated!
We use apricot jam. Babka’s recipe
Sounds good, seems to be a popular alternative to the cranberry sauce! Thanks for watching and for the comment. 😊
😮yummy!!
Good to see you again. SO far everyone I have made it for really likes recipe and of course wanted to know how to make it. Thanks for checking in .
Never heard of this but sure seems to dress up boring chicken! Will try it😊
Thanks Victoria, we really hope you like it!
Look delicious
Thank you very much, appreciate you taking the time to comment 😊
Great job?!!!
Thank You very much. It is delicious so definitely try it and let me know what you think. thank You for leaving the comment as well. Have a nice day.
When using chicken breasts instead, do we use the temp you use in that video (400 deg) or the 350 deg as you use for the legs or does it matter? Anyone??
When cooking the chicken beat cook at 450 for 25 minutes then check the internal temp for 165
I've never seen this before, but it looks and sounds interesting and I just happen to have a bag of drumsticks I just purchased. Gonna give it a try tomorrow night. Thanks!
Fantastic, let us know how you like it! Betting you're gonna love it.
An easy way to get cranberry out of can, open both ends of can and push through.
Good tip! Thanks for watching and commenting Barb. 😊
Works with tomato paste too! 😁
Can I use catalina french instead ?
Absolutely, I switch between the two.
Could a can of whole cranberries be used or should I blend the cranberries?
We've never tried it with whole cranberries before. I'm sure it would still come out just as good, just with a little more texture. Let us know what you think if you end up trying it that way!
@@HowtoMakeaQuick Will do.
