  • The CDL Exam can be seem scary, but it doesn't have to be ! This video covers the Air Brake Test extensively, which is often intimidating because it is the ONLY PLACE in the Pretrip Section that the test taker can AUTOFAIL if they perform it incorrectly. But have no fear ! This video explains each part of the test in great detail, then offers a perfect example using the bookend technique and then provides further material upon request.

      Don't waste your time on a CDL you lose all your rights and you never see your family. Your nothing but a slave working long hrs , and money you will never have time to spend it. And avoid recruiters biggest scam artist of them all. I'd rather work at McDonald's at least I can spend my life with my family. Not worth selling your soul for the mighty dollar, that is unless you have no life and no family. The Insurance companies run the entire industry another scam. Don't waste your time or money.

    As my CDL instructor, Danny worked diligently to prepare me for the air brake test. He challenged my efforts and corrected my errors so that I was very proficient with the air brakes. • @lucdallaire9047
    @lucdallaire9047 Před měsícem

    Thanks! !! I have my road test today.
    I learn different and forgot most. But logically...
    Airbreak is for safety magic numbers are 60. 90-100- 145
    From 60 to 100 you can't have then 1 minute to regain your air.
    At 145 the Gouverneur need to activate so the air thank doesn explode
    And need a warning light or buzzer for low air pressure at 60 or above. If it goes under is defective and cannot operate.
    Amd you need make shure the Gouverneur will get back up when it time to get air again.
    The holding brake for 1 minutes is to check for any air lost and cannot lose more than 3psi or the truck is defective and cannot operate (canada)
    Now, the circle check is where I would get it wrong because course and real life experience are two different thing.
    But mostly, you would simply do a quick circle check. And exemple if you check a tire. You would tell the person that you would check all tires. Rims, ects but in real life you actually need to check them all😂😅

    Hi, Danny. I’m from NY, I just had a road test yesterday. I past the inspection, air brake and parking test, but I got fail on-road test. Do you have any trips that I can look for? On the test, I feel like I drove normal and kept in the most right lane at all time. However I just too early moved on the exit lane in the highway which is the exit-only lane, but not the correct exit I got told by, then I had to wait less than 1s at the end of lane separation to have enough room to get back in to the main highway. Also for the left turn, which lane should I approach after intersection? I thought is the most right lane but the examiner told me that I turned to the wrong lane. Now I have a bit upset about it, moreover I have no resources to know what should I look for on the “On-Road” test. Below is my results, any tips or hints I should care about for the next road test?
    Automatic Fail Category:
    Examiner took control (ETC), Fail to observe (FOB), Wrong side of road (WSR), Insufficient Skill or Practice (ISP)

    My test, you had to do tug test as part of the air take test, also had to state that speedometer worked during that test. If I’d of ended it as early as you did, I would have failed.

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Thanks for your feedback ! The tug test and service brake test (getting up to 5 mph and braking )is separate from the air brake test, though it is part of the in cab inspection, which is the larger section that the air brake falls into. The the service brake test is where you test the speedometer and service brakes. This video only covers the air brake test. Hope that helps clarify 😁🙏🏻

    • @MonsterTruckingCo.
      @MonsterTruckingCo. Před 11 měsíci

      @@CDLYeah at my school Tug test was part of air brake test. That tests the tractor and trailer spring brakes. 5 mph tested the service brake. I guess some schools do it different, but this is what we where taught. In cab inspection, then we had to say this concludes my in cab inspection. Then we went to air brakes and after tug tests, this concludes my air brake inspection. Then it was straight to maneuvers then road test .

    In Texas it’s an automatic fail it you turn your engine on and exit your truck to unchock the wheel like you did in your video. In Texas you must remove the key from the ignition and place it in your pocket THEN you may unchock your wheels.

I currently drive a lifted F350 flatbed with 24 ft trailer towing about 12k on average and hauling another 5k so I'm hoping with about 5 years of that 5-6 days a week I'll be pretty familiar with at least the driving portion..
