Great video..thank you
Danny got me hyped
Yeahhh dude 💪🏼😁 leeetss goooo
@@CDLYeah let's get it
Hi, I'm just curious why you chock the front wheels? I see no requirement in any CDL handbook on which axle to chock but I thought the general consensus was to chock a rear axle. Thank you!
Great question! This is done in order to be able to loosen the chock by turn the steering wheel without having to move the vehicle into drive or reverse. It is easier to move the vehicle off of the chock.
Its the drone shots for me. You really hit it out tthe park with these actusl examples vs just explaining
I am so glad that the content is helpful, thanks for reaching out! Seeing the breakdown from the drone makes it less intimidating for sure 🧐😯😁 you got this!
Love these videos. Esp the drone shots. Great idea! I will be watching these up until my test in two weeksb
Yes! With that dedication I think you'll do great! 😎
@@CDLYeah 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Do you have to have your permit already or can it be obtained at prime?
Great question 😁🙌🏼 permit first 🤙🏼
Where does the wheel chock go? Front or back of tire?
Great question, depends on the grade of the road you’re on. First, release your brakes while seated in the driver seat, then monitor for a roll with your foot over the brake. Chock the roll side 😁🤙🏼
Thanks for putting this video together. I've had my class A for 20 years but never had air brakes until this year, I am looking to start driving tractor and trailers but I don't have a truck to do the pre trip test. do you have any suggestions on how I might do this without having to pay thousands of dollars. Thanks guys
Where are you training to test and have you considered running for a mega carrier?
@@CDLYeah So I'm located in Northern VA. I'm looking for a training center that doesn't cost $1000's, Having my Class A cdl already what else do I need to start driving ? thanks and do I need to go to a training center or can I use a friend that has a truck and Trailer and take the pre-trip and road test? thanks
UP DATE.. I called the test supervisor that administers the CDL test and was told because I already had my class A license I just needed to come down and take the air test in a truck that had air brakes, and it could be a class B truck with air.
In Florida I would totally fail doing it this way but what works in other states won't always work in mine .. besides that very well said
Thanks for reaching out! Yeah FL has a different standard than most other states, tougher. When are you planning to test?! Have you considered driving for Prime? 😁🤷🏻♂️
Thanks very good
Thanks for the support 🙌🏼😁
Hello Danny thanks for this informative video! I'm in CDL school now ..I'd love to work for Prime Inc.. I hear they're very strict with their hiring process. I quit my last job 🤦🏻♀️ and I have an at fault accident from 3/2018. On top of that ...I'll be a new CDL graduate. I'm guessing I'd probably have to start with a "second chance" trucking company and work a couple years before Prime would consider my application 🥲
Hey there! Thanks so much for reaching out! 🙋🏻♂️😁 The best way to know what/if you’ll need any additional things to be accepted is to reach out to a recruiter here asap! Email hross@driveforprime.com and tell her I sent ya! She’ll help you with eligibility requirements 🤓🙌🏼
@@CDLYeah thank you 🙏🏼 I’ll do that ! Really appreciate your help☺️ have a great evening 🙂
If you can't get in a tight hole? Slide ur Tandems all the way back. Don't let ur tail trailer whip a truck trailer or wall or whatever. Walmart driver experience.
Great tip, if you have the sliding tandem of a box/refer trailer you’ll want to be very mindful of the whip of that duck tail 😲🦆😁
So when we set are tractor and release our trailer do we reverse are move forward to tug the truck?
The brakes should hold you and you should feel a slight tug against the brake. “Should” being the optimal word here 😆🤷🏻♂️🤞🏼
Unless I missed it somehow. Another auto fail is your tandem tire clipping a curb or median. Turning was never difficult for me. The tight turns down a two lane road were tough for me during my practice runs.
Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏼 This is absolutely true that in some states hitting a curb is an auto fail ☹️ Best to always stay wide 🙌🏼😎
The best way to learn how to make parallel parking! Thank you so much for explain clearly!
So glad the material is helpful 🙌🏼😁 thanks for reaching out!

My question is I wanna know how does an examiner talk or give orders at the test?? Will they give clear and understandable orders?? How would they talk to me like, especially when taking skill test?? I think I’ve nailed everything but I’m just worried about how the conversation is worded or how orders are given.
Great question! Wanting to know all the details is a great way to approach the test 🙌🏼 The examiner will give clear and concise detailed requirements for all THREE of the CDL exam sections. If you have any questions ask them, they want you to succeed and there are no dumb questions, and they've heard it all 😅
@@CDLYeah Thank you! I so sincerely appreciate your answer. My test is on Aug.12th. Everyday I wake up in the morning, I keep my eyes closed and I don’t get up. I start going through the truck from manual air brake to in-cab pre-trip to tug test to outside pre-trip, from the hood to tractor throughout the rear door of the trailer, by using the words in the pre-trip book. I still have 2 weeks to prepare but I already feel bored in a way that I probably can do the whole pre-trip inspection backward. Alley dock could be easy or confusing but most likely they’ll test me parallel parking. Road test won’t be 100% perfect but won’t have a major problem. Anyway, thanks again for your help! 🙏
On the forward offset, can you stop at all before you are at the end of the maneuver, or do you need to keep moving at all times?
Great question! 😁🙌🏼 The latest interpretation states that it must be a continually moving maneuver. In some states it cost points to stop and in some it doesn’t. In Missouri right now, stopping results in a do over and then subject to the examiner’s discretion beyond that 🤓 so my advice, keep it moving, slow and easy. 😎🤙🏼
Got to do a new one for the new test
Im in PSD at MO and I believe air brake goes first
@@SoyCisko you can do any order you want
Great question! 😁🙋🏻♂️ Different states want it done differently, in MO any order, in PA air brake first ✊🏼 I’ll have a new universal pretrip video out this next week so keep an eye out for that 👀🥳
I cant back tfu i think i need a new instructor
It seems this is backwards in texas
Keeping it simple....name of your game Eclipsed 10K on your way.
Brick by brick 🧱🙌🏼
Hope all is well. I still use my CDL in the state of MO (*Monday-Friday) as a Flatbedder! 💪⚡️ 🇺🇸
Right on 👍🏼
Very descriptive and I personally like that "The Governor Cut-Off" comes 1st. I believe this will cut-out the "going through the motions" and will properly fulfill the precise understanding for the overall flow to how the truck works, especially for people that have little to no experience in a Semi or bigger Rig. #ShortSweetandTothePoint
Oh yeah 🙌🏼
Watching this and looking at the study guide at the same time….. my guy leaving out a whole lot of stuff…. I guess u don’t have to mention the belt driven alternative or gear driven air compressor or power steering pump….. just curious
Thank you for reaching out! The confusion is totally understandable 🤓🙌🏼 this video is the “Modernized” Critical Thirty style. It is the current standard that states are going to or have gone to. So, depending on your state, it is either this style, OR the old standard. That guide has the verbiage for both the old standard and the new modernized, BUT this video is the new modernized example. You just need to double check the up to date requirements for your state. 😁👍🏼
When did they get rid of the cut in and cut out as a mandatory test
Thanks for reaching out! 😁🙏🏼 If you have the 4 stage air brake test you may need to be using this new modernized style czcams.com/video/C8JcNhpMZW0/video.html
@@CDLYeah I have a cdl and have had one for 10 years. I just remembered needing to do cut in and out as well and now the new cdl book only shows the 3 you mentioned as the mandatory.
MAYBE ADDRESS WHEN ITS SUPER, super TIGHT AND KNOWING just when its not going to happen or it might happen with 45 minutes of micro moves. and clutch leg going completely numb.. kind of like what you get when you got to deliver in a tight ny alley designed for horse and buggy... you know what i mean. most of these backing lessons are great when you have the room. and granted you teaching students. however students still hit truck stops 11pm with only centimeters to park
Great suggestion! Thanks for reaching out 🙏🏻 There are definitely some spots that don't seem to have been made with trucks in mind. I will brainstorm about an episode on that next level backing stuff 🤓
no stick shift? what about for tankers, as i have heard the automatics cant handle the surge?
Good question 😁 nearly the whole fleet is auto at this point, tanks included 🙌🏼
I either was in the army or jail with this guy
Lol 😂 bet it’s the white shirt vibes
Tn does this ass backwards, we do the tug first, then the final air brake test....
TN is interesting for sure. You can only take your permit test once a week there. Most other states you can take it multiple times a day 😲😑🤷🏻♂️ have y’all moved to the modernized 4 stage ABT yet?
@CDLYeah it's the license test that's like that, I took my permit the next day after I failed air brakes section the 1st time.
Copy please and thank you
Absolutely! Email us at dannybcrisp@gmail.com and we’ll get you all set up 🙌🏼🥳
💯☑️‼️🔥
🙏🏻😁🚀💥
On first day he said nothing about his seatbelt for safety 🤦🏽♀️ 🙄
Yeah, crazy that a seatbelt is no longer part of the required pretrip but that is the design of the new critical thirty 🧐 but your testing state may require that still, TX and CA require extra analysis, where are you testing?
Just tested last week ☺️👌
Right on 😎🤙🏼

This guy looks like if you combined every live action spiderman. But thanks I needed this video for tomorrow’s road test. Nice refresher.
Duuuude 🤣 I’ve never heard a more accurate description 🙏🏼 drive safe
Thanks! !! I have my road test today. I learn different and forgot most. But logically... Airbreak is for safety magic numbers are 60. 90-100- 145 From 60 to 100 you can't have then 1 minute to regain your air. At 145 the Gouverneur need to activate so the air thank doesn explode And need a warning light or buzzer for low air pressure at 60 or above. If it goes under is defective and cannot operate. Amd you need make shure the Gouverneur will get back up when it time to get air again. The holding brake for 1 minutes is to check for any air lost and cannot lose more than 3psi or the truck is defective and cannot operate (canada) Now, the circle check is where I would get it wrong because course and real life experience are two different thing. But mostly, you would simply do a quick circle check. And exemple if you check a tire. You would tell the person that you would check all tires. Rims, ects but in real life you actually need to check them all😂😅
The Canadian test is unique certainly 🙌🏼🤓 all the very best on your test!!
That stupid ridiculous music Is a distraction . Annoying as heck.
😁 thanks for weighing in 🙌🏼
