    Seriously, it wouldn't increase the cost that much to have 100% carbon fiber interior door panels with Alcantera covering, 100% carbon fiber center console with Alcantera covering, a 6-point roll cage with removable side bar for easy entry, carbon fiber floor pans (instead of carpet) with snap in removable floor mats, etc For $400,000, this should look a lor more like a race car inside than this! This just looks like a regular 2024 Mustang GT on the inside. I'm very disappointed Ford!

      I’m pretty sure this is stored to be in the same tier as the ford gt. The gtd is a super car, not a cup car. They have a factory gt3/4 model for that.

      @@randyjr3479 I completely agree with you. After seeing the GTD interior and Fords review of it features. There's loads of carbon-fiber components throughout the GTD interior with special steering wheel switches and large informative screens for the GTD. Ford selected the best seats for the GTD while not increasing it's weight. If the interior is the most important part for purchasing this Mustang GTD Super Car. Then I recommend the buyer purchasing a Chevy volt because it's obvious those complaining about the interior haven't a clue of the type of specialised racing components this Mustang uses and what this Mustang is built to do. That's to go Fast on race tracks worldwide.

    @lpwbeasty Před měsícem +2

    It’s all for looks. Carbon fiber everywhere yet there’s two 12” screens, wireless phone charger, and steel brakes by the looks of it (correct me if I’m wrong). This was just ford trying to compete with Europeans but they can only do looks, which is why they made the rear suspension visible through the inside

    • @DWH300
      @DWH300 Před měsícem

      @lpwbeasty- Your wrong. The GTD's interior is a very small part of this 800+ Horsepower Mustang Supercar. Performance doesn't come from it's interior. The key is about the amazing technology and performance components the GTD uses. To those who appreciate special vehicles . I'm fine with the interior because Ford put the money in what makes the wide body GTD special. It's amazing performance technology that includes an 800+ supercharged 5.2 purpose built engine and it's new 8 speed DCT transaxle. Active suspension and aero with optional dive planes located under the GTD and all these features in a Mustang weighing around 3000 lbs. . Your comment tells me you haven't a clue what this Mustang offers regarding overall performance. Your more concerned about the interior that uses lite weight carbon fiber and Recaro racing seats. I don't think the 2000 racing enthusiast actually purchasing these special Mustangs care more about the interior than the special racing components used in this 200 mph Mustang Supercar.

      If all you care about is straight-line performance, then yes: the GT500 will probably be the better option for you. That, however, is not what the GTD was designed to do. It was built to go fast around a racing circuit and set quick lap times, not break 1/4 records at a drag strip. If that's all that you're interested in, then maybe you should take a look at other options because this car is clearly not meant to appeal to you.

    Ridiculous fitting it with a Dark Horse interior. The price point and race focused DNA warrants an interior design unique to the GTD. I mean, the bodywork is carbon fibre, so how about using some on the interior rather than the standard cheap plastics? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Seats should be purpose-built thin carbon fibre buckets with minimal padded inserts and even a simple finger-loop of material for opening (what ought to be) exposed carbon fibre trimmed doors.
    Edit : Rotary dials are just lame, especially in a racer.

  • @DWH300

    You asked about the GTD's weight. The standard GTD model weighs 3268 lbs. The carbon fiber version will fall below that number. A 500 horsepower Porsche 911 Gt3 RS weighs 3020 lbs. The carbon fiber GTD will likely equal or weigh less than the Porsche

    Honestly, I could buy a new Mustang GT, send it to Asira Design and for about $100k nearly have a GTD. I would just need to get the same transaxle, suspension and active aero, which I bet could be acquired for less than an additional $100k so for about $250k, I could build a comparable performing Mustang as the GTD that also is of comparable weight, maybe even lighter. One additional benefit, I won't have to jump thru 50 hoops and hope I get one.
