I really like the sheer variety of approaches you use rather than essentially having a single method and just changing the colours. Not all of these are to my taste, but that's almost the point - with such a variety of techniques almost anyone is likely to find something that makes them go "hmm, yes"....
If a single person is now armed with the tools and confidence to get a table ready army in any one of these legions because of this video, it's a win. Exactly the point!
You need make two bases with black boxes with "REDACTED" in big red letters on them so you will have all legions XD Or like tombstones with II and XI on them.

While that would be awesome I still think they should make their own Original second and 11th legion And just have them play with the rulings from another legion That is similar to the design they go with.

Little historical info:
That's NOT a "tabard", it's basically a fur "loin cloth".
40k Dark Angels aren't wearing tabards either, but "coats of arms" or monk's robes (monastic tunic).
Tabards are what the WH fantasy Imperium soldiers are wearing (basically a medieval sort of jacket).
Monastic scapular is the proper name.

This series is amazing and although every one of your videos is professional, entertaining, and fun, this series hits on a practical guide for me to try out! Every single one of your bashes is approachable for noobies like me who don’t have the time or the bits laying around to mega-custom each army dude. OK, past the compliments and onto he requests. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put together videos for kitbashing the OPPOSITE faction of each Legion! IMO, that’s where the true fun is for Horus Heresy; being able to play Luna Wolves as Loyalists and Dark Angels as Traitor Legions. I’ve been toying around with going straight up Luna Wolves for my entire beaky marine box, and I would LOVE to see you guys tackle a color scheme and kit bash of them.
tip for snow, paint the base an electric blue then cover in a thin layer if super glue dip 8n glass powder then when its dry you can build up layers or lumps wherever you want

A good way to get a nice vibrant yellow is to prime in hot pink! Seems counterintuitive but I swear this gives great results.

0:58 The backs of the legs are going to be the same, because MkIII armor is just MkII armor with armor plates strapped to the front. This style of armor is actually from old artwork of the Emperor inspiring a group of Luna Wolves in MkIII armor.
Love Jens take on the Space Wolves(they are my guys😉) Dark Angels and Blood Angels round out my top three. I really like all of your takes on both Loyalist and Traitor Legions. Now if we could get that Dreadnought video. Ahh Dave.
I know I’m probably not the first to suggest this, but you guys should try your hands at making a custom primarch of the 2nd or 11th. One of my favorite things is seeing people really show off their art skill on those huge characters
I legit love neoeco airbrushes. I'm not bought into any really expensive brushes, but man, the quality of those brushes for the price doesn't make me feel like I'm missing much.

Hobby question around basing the Dark Angel as I kind of love it and want to do it myself, how was it achieved? like the paste, colours etc?
Dave, I would like to see you paint up some tau stealth suits using purple as a highlight and green as a behind light with the red marks staying the same it would be really cool if you could do this because that’s the sceem I use for my tau

Salamander and the White Scars looks the best by far in this video. The Dark Angels legion is one of my favorites paint schemes because while I like 40k raven wing and deathwing there is just something that the original Dark angels legion it just speaks to me. Mk 3 looks great but isn’t for every army in my opinion, but the Salamanders(Black Dragons), Raven Guard (Ashen Claws), Iron Hands (Red Talons), and Dark Angels (+Redeemed) all have old models mixed with new Primaris so these upscale 30k kits do much for 40k also. The weapons like original otters look so much better to me than standard bolters as well as bolt pistols look so just generic but these look very interesting with longer barrels just adds much needed size to weapons. Even those old Terminator armor types Cataphractii and Tartaros are so unique and interesting that I wanna add them as 40k terminators.
I think it has to do with me having a Blood Angels but it’s Death Company Only just for fun. My favorite colors are Black, Red, Dark Metallic Irons, and Bone for just about anything including warhammer. The army basically kinda like dark angels legion with more bone and less metal to make everything pop more on the models as well as purple wax for the scrolls on some characters.
God! i couldn't agree more that i'm so unbelievable dissapointed they took away the stepped design on the backs of their legs, i loved edge highlighting them on the older models!!!

It went like this: Dave "I literally don't care about loyalists the only one I like is dark angels" - Jenn and Murray "ok you can have them and the ones we don't pick"
Then I (Dave) ended up with Iron hands Raven Guard and Dark Angels and we decided me painting 3 marines with black armor was boring so I swapped Jenn for salamanders
A tiny bug bear, but it wasn't until mkIV armour that the helmet could turn when the marine turned his head, the previous versions the helmet was fixed looking forwards.
Iirc thats been retconned, almost entirely because of the kits with poseable heads
Totally agree Horus heresy kits need more bolt pistols completely ran out halfway through putting together a squad of despoilers
MK3 actually fits the white scars, they’re mentioned to have very old armor due to operating far away from supply routes

You did switch the nozzle on the airbrush when you changed the needle size, the nozzle, the needle and the aircup in front all got to match in size or the airbrush will not work, and if it works it will not do so properly if they are not meant for each other

I LOVE water slide decals on my gundam models, but having just got my first WH40k kit, i gotta say i’m not liking the thought of decals on things so small in detail.

The Raven Guard felt phoned in to me. You talk about all the things they were known for. There were lightning claws in the kits. Nothing sneaky was presented. Nothing close combat or guerrilla tactics presented. Just hey, look, these guys took a beating and died.

I found the first legion HH books a little jarring after all the previous books had people stuck dumb, or creaming their pants in front of primarchs, then people on caliban were just gobbing off to the lion
the salamander marine knocked all the others out of the park, on the other hand the blood angels marine was really boring, just a marine painted red

Kinda dissapointed with the blood angel. Need a bit more of a balance of gold and black ontop of the red base to make it look like a blood angel. This one came out looking like thousand sons

it would be really nice if you guys would take more consideration into the prep of your models, the paintjobs are okay but when you see all the moldlines, flash unpainted areas, bare primer and other mistakes like spilled paint or areas where the primer is still visible through the paint it really detracts from the paintjob and just makes the overall quality of these videos feel more rushed and just like slop content
Mate we make two videos a week and we made 9 marines in one video. Converted. Let's stress less about a mould line.
