- On board Amadeus, an IMX 40, racing outside Dana Point Harbor, Dana Point, CA. The wind is blowing 15-17 knots and gusting to 20 knots. Mounted on the boat is the Insta 360 X3 camera capturing a 360° view of the race. You hear the wind and can feel the ocean spray, because you're onboard. Fasten your seatbelt and come along for the ride!
Love the camera and it's ability to allow shot selection AFTER the event is over!
It's nice to see so much!
great race! curious why no spinnaker for the downwind, was it a condition for the race?
Dana Point Harbor is home to the longest-running weekly sailboat race on the Pacific Coast. The tradition started 32 years ago with just a handful of local racers who wanted to race every week. They named it the "Farkle race." It’s a random leg course race called by the previous weeks winner. No spinnakers or asymmetrical…but you can use a spar for the headsail.
@@SailingwithScott thank you very much for such a detailed explanation 🍻
