  • Engine conversions aren't easy, Especially if you're trying to fit a 454 Big Block Chevy into a Car that originally came with a small capacity 6 cylinder.
In todays episode of The Skid Factory, Al & Woody make a start on mounting a BBC and ‪@HughesPerformance‬ powerglide into Al's 68 Toyota Crown.
Old cock makes an appearance, Woody has no sympathy for Al's chassis and Roger hangs around for a few pats on the head.

    220kg for that big boy.
ALSO! A suggestion from a guy that used to work at a welding supply store (fixing welders and plasma cutters) Make sure to keep on top of the torch consumables and replace them when they need replacing. Don't skimp and try and make them last longer than they're supposed to, they do wear out (sometimes quicker than you might think!) and make sure you get the correct consumables, the wrong ones can look very similar/identical but the torch will not work full stop. Also don't drop the torch head or give it any hard knocks, they are fragile and expensive inside.
That and make sure the air supply is dry, water in the air will destroy the consumables very quickly.
    Enjoy the light saber!

The canted bellhousing is just for the steering box clearance on a UZS131, it won't help with clearance on the much narrower S55 chassis. The 131 also had some of the most horrific exhaust manifolds to go with the bellhousing twist.

274 kg for the win. I'm concerned for your oil pan sump relocation plans. The oil pump on the Chevy Rat is within an inch or so from the bottom of the pan so I don't see you being able to move the sump to the middle. I hope I am wrong.

You are right about the oil pump issue. I am making a dual well sump with bypasses between the two.
