It use to air here on PBS back in the 70s or 80s before I was born and they talk about it the day after the contest as a blurb in 24 hour national news to say who won but most ppl know very little as it happens. Only us die hard fans really keep up. One of our gymasts who won gold and bronze on the US womens gymnastics team used Wild dances as her song for floor exercise. So its not unheard of but it isnt huge. If you ask ppl most will say they either heard something about it or know what it is, some old ppl will say theyve seen it as children in the 70s/80s but no, its not as big here as in austrailia and canada. there was a push a few years back to bring eurovision to the americas with amerivision but that movement quickly lost its momentum.
