    Which test do you think is the hardest?

  • @MisterHedgeFund
    @MisterHedgeFund Před 2 lety +74

    Seems like sprinting would be a more relevant test for the Navy vs a 1.5 mile run. Like a sprint one might do from one side of the ship to the other side of the ship.

    You can make an overview of the additional skills that army bonuses give - for example, the levels of hand-to-hand combat and which generally exist in different branches of the armed forces, the levels of training in shooting a pistol or rifle, etc?

    • @ssjrose9641
      @ssjrose9641 Před rokem

      The army combatives course is a joke. I knew so many people that went to that and were "level 2" certified...but were garbage on the ground and pathetic on stand up. And that's coming from a recreational martial arts practitioner...pretty much if I could beat them, then they really suck... 😆 🤣 😂 😹

    You guys make very informative videos. In the intro screen, “without being detected” should probably be replaced with “without being identified.” If someone can hear you, you’ve already been detected, but they don’t necessarily know who you are. Keep up the great work!

    Beware with the USMC PFT. Some companies at bootcamp have already fully transitioned to planks, and do not allow you to use crunches. This info came from someone who graduated last Friday.

    Changes to pft standards:
    Pull ups
    Push ups
    Crunches/plank
    Squats
    2 mile run
    -Little to no equipment.
    -Can be done anywhere.
    -Can be trained at home without spending cash on acft gear
    -easier to grade than acft
    -not acft

    Thank you for this video. Things have changed since I was in the Marine Corps; our maximums were 20 pull-ups, 80 sit-ups (full sit-ups, no crunches) in two minutes and I forget the time for the 3-mile run. If we maxed the first two, we could almost walk three miles briskly and still score a first-class rating.

    How I Think That The Standards Should Be Dor Every Branch:
    •Pull Ups or Chin Ups:
    -6 Minimum, 20+ Maximum In No Time Limit
    •The Same Standards For The Next 3 Exercises In 2 Minutes Each, 65 Reps Minimum, 120+ Maximum:
    -Air Squats
    -Push Ups
    -Sit Ups
    •3 Mile Run
    -24:30 Minimum
    -18 Minutes or Less for a Maximum Score

    • @josephalgiene1246
      @josephalgiene1246 Před rokem +3

      I don’t think it’s embarrassment as much as it is discouraging. It’s a reckoning with understanding what’s expected of you and questioning yourself as to whether or not you can do it. It’s all part of the process of building a soldier though, normal. It’s mental as much as physical.
      I was smoking allot of marijuana and tobacco before I joined the army when I was 19. The running and ruck marches kicked my ass at first. Had me doubting myself, but I stuck with it because I wouldn’t want to bear the thought of quitting and coming home unexpectedly having to explain what happened. I would throw up while running, feet blisters the size of coins, feel like I was dying! Marching forever in full battle rattle. Dripping sweat from head to toe. It may sound silly to some but never quitting even though it hurt and making it all the way was very mentally rewarding. Even an overweight guy made it in my class by the end, he cut enough weight and passed we were high five-ing him at the end of the run when he made it, it was an awesome time

      Imagine being in the front leaning rest position, but instead of pushing yourself up with your hands, you are on your elbows. The exercise is to stay in that modified front leaning rest, rigid and straight throughout for maximum amount of time. It works your core, the minimum standard for the Army’s PT test is a 2:09 minute plank, maxing out at a 4:20 plank.
