- Helldivers 2 is a challenging and really ludicrous co-op game. It has some surprising depth and this video is here to cover some things you might have missed and arm you with a few creative tips and tricks. Let’s get to it.

This game deserves a game of the year nomination. Every single one of my friends (and myself) just keep gushing about how much fun we’re having.
As of right now, sure. But we're also only two months into the year.

What a masterpiece. This game is what Starship Troopers Extermination should have been.

Just the fact that we have more weapon variation alone here is ridiculous.

I actually said the same exact thing to my friends haha. I was like, remember that Starship Troopers game that was FAR LESS Starship Troopers than this somehow? 😂
If a hunter (the jumpy bug that lashes you with its tongue and slows you) gets in your face and you need to reload, just melee it real quick. It stuns them right back and gives you some breathing room.
I discovered that accidentally and it downed my deaths by a half
Level 20+ and play with a group. These and so many other tips are great but I think the single best tip I heard that helped me the most was don’t be afraid to die and don’t be afraid to fail. You’ll naturally get better over time and this tip helps you brace for the increased difficulty jumps.
One of the best games I’ve played in a while.
Use R1 to use strategem instead of L1. You can run while using the claw method to input command then L1. And use L1 as your command wheel and point to objectives. This was a game changer.
I just did this. Huge help for me.
Hmmm... I may try this or try running with my right thumb as I input with left thumb. Definitely need a better way to input so I can move freely while doing so
You can change the mode from hold to just press. That is more useful to me
That’s a good tip. I use a pro controller but had to revert to my dualsense. So I’ll def try this.
Good thing to know about reloading the recoiless rifle solo: The reloading is done in stages, so (badly put, and process may be wrong): 1) unlocking the rifle 2)ejecting the spent case 3) loading ammo 4)locking the rifle. If you get interrupted after finishing some stages, you won't have to start from the beginning of the reload. you'll just need to finish the rest of the stages. Not sure if this applies to any other support weapon.
Lots of other weapons have stages like this. Most magazine weapons essentially have 2. Throwing the magazine out and putting a new one in. If you get interrupted after you've already pulled out the old magazine, all you have to do is put the new one in.

I mean that follows some realism...why would i totally restart the whole process if I am half way through the processes of reloading a weapon?
Don't sleep on the Dive Action because you can aim Max Payne style while diving. And if you land while still aiming down sights, you stay aiming and are still able to target enemies effectively 👍🏾

@@Loquacious_Jackson it is? It’s clunky but not glitchy. It pretty much does exactly what it’s meant to.

@@lillones isn’t that the point? IRL you can actually escape a grenade blast if you’re prone because the explosion is forced upwards and rarely will you see shrapnel hit the ground near the explosion radius. Unless you’re directly on top of it, you could be saved by diving prone.
Your ears might be popped though, and you might have bruising from the co concussive force.
If you watch ships that get shot down - they fall all the way down to the surface and explode. Incredible attention to detail!
The Finals and Helldivers 2 are the best things we've received in a long time imo. It gives me hope for the future of video games. Both should hopefully influence future games
The finals has fell off massively and has no way near enough content, it will meet the gaming grave soon.
The Finals tried it didn't care for it. Many love it
for eagle stratagems, the closer you are to the edge of the map the more at an angle it will fall
Best game so far. Been playing it everyday. I usually don’t play a game everyday but this one gets me excited to play everyday till I unlock all upgrades and weapons. Best sound, best graphics, almost best mechanics, cool lore, meh launch coz of some bugs and match making problems, and I wish it’s not an online game all the time coz ya know, for preservation in the future. We all know that online only games could disappear specially if it gets old and they have to shut down the server. Arrowhead, please make an offline option if you are reading this.
People are still playing the original Helldivers. It is just that fun, so this game is going to be around for awhile. I am thinking 5 years minimum. We may get a decade out of this one, but that may be pushing it.
i think if the game is popular enough people will start to make their own dedicated server to revive the game if it got shut down one day
It sounds like Arrowhead's sales' expectations for the game have been blown away. Who knows, maybe they'll add an offline campaign mode or couch co-op campaign in the future with the amount of funding they're getting. We can only hope!
I don't know about "best graphics" they're easily the worst part of the game. It doesn't ruin the game for me because the gameplay is king here but in all honesty this nearly looks like a last gen title just running at 60fps instead of 30.

A good technique is to drop your samples near extraction, then go finish whatever's left over in the map. That way if you die, you're important stuff is in a central place so anybody can extract with the samples. Also helps to drop them somewhere safe before you rush into an enemy compound, so you don't drop them somewhere difficult to get to if you die
How do you drop samples?
@5:24 The tip is great, but laser weapons need a buff. We just watched you pull out the laser "cannon" and focus a single target with no effect. The laser weapons are really cool but they are terrible right now.
Grain of salt because I haven't used the laser cannon, but he was also shooting the most heavily armored part of that vehicle.
No i know. I'm speaking from personal experience in using the lasers. I just thought it was entertaining to see an example of what I've been seeing for myself. Theyre my favorite weapon because I love the theme, but they are very underpowered at the moment. @@Sollandel

Ye some things arent completely done in helldivers 2. Spear I thought was super OP but it bugs with the aiming so sometimes you can't focus on big enemy, and it doesnt take out heavily armored enemies in first shot as I thought it would... and you only carry 3 rockets. Some guns like liberator AP is actually weaker than normal liberator etc... I hope they fix all these things eventually.
@@drummerguy438it is about as powerful as an LMG (the one you can reload and run) it offsets it’s infinite ammo (as long as you don’t burn it out) with removing the flinching of kinetic weapons
While wearing a supply pack you can supply yourself by pressing 5. Unsure of PS button equivalent.

They should add a Droid that you can request via stratagems in order to use a rocket launcher with his help because rarely anyone helps me and the reload is super slow

It's crazy you say that, cause I booted up Helldivers 1, and NOBODY EVER helped me reload the launcher before, but all the vets must be on cause they were using healing beams and reload backpacks for me while I dumped the rockets on big bugs. Randoms even.
something like the Bo3 shadows of evil Robot ally you can get perhaps? maybe its only use is to carry a backpack if you give it one.

@j0eyhz620 whatever the green beam is that bounces between soldiers and vehicles. These guys had gold shields, heal beams, all the vehicle strategems. It was awesome.
I wish they had more training missions on this game, several hours in and Im still completely clueless what I am doing
Yeah certain objectives were pretty confusing on how to complete. Which can mean the difference between failing a mission when being overrun by enemies while not knowing what to do.
Or a testing grounds so you can better understand the game
The only thing you need to know is that you are doing your part! For Democracy!
Supply pack addendum: when you resupply teammates with the pack on, you reload their weapons in the process.
When there is a supply drop, let the guy with the supply pack get the ammo first. It replenishes their ammo AND the supply pack ammo. Essentially 2 for 1!
#16. Say "For Super Earth" at the start of the match, at the end of a match, and when you or another Super Citizen dies😀
The illegal broadcast towers can be completed by simply blowing it up with an orbital, saving 3-5mins
They just set a new standard and and new genre. I bought the dlc just out of respect for what they delivered.
You bought it because it was the most democratic choice. You bought it...for Super Earth!

The store and currency purchases are all reasonably priced as well, I dont feel like im getting robbed when I buy something from the in game store.
Not to mention the fact you can find the in game currency…in game. Honestly one of the most fun games ive played in years.

5:27-5:35 is everyone's first experience with the laser cannon lol i really hope they buff it to melt armor.
Sometimes stratagems stick to things and sometimes they don’t what’s the reason behind this? Is it armor?
i hate it when you throw a sentry and then it bounces of landing somewhere you did not wanted.

I wonder how in the first part they shot the dropship and split it in half, but when i do it with recoilless or spear, it doesnt even flinch. Ofc you can shoot it in the engine and it falls, but spear targets the center.... I wonder by what its done in the video.
My best guess is someone shot it earlier.
@@niccolomanahan7775 in another video about helldivers 2 I saw a Sam site with huge rockets destroying it so its probably that, i havent seen that yet, i bet its like sam site on higher difficulty missions.
@@cigomakovic1142 Oh that’s so cool. I haven’t seen sam sites being used yet. I wonder if they exist in defense missions because they’re super hard to beat with the neverending dropships.
@@niccolomanahan7775 not in defense missions but use the anto tank cannon sentry and shoot the dropships with recoilless into the engines!
I still can't figure out exactly what gets you more medals. I swear I've done everything on the map and at the end get glorious victory but still only get the minimum amount of medals. But hen other times I get like 9 medals.
Medals for missions are stated before you drop. The 1st, 2nd,... are for the first mission you complete in the operation, then the second, and so on.
Additionally, you can find medals in game in bunkers and the like. Doing side objectives yields no medals, just experience and requisition points(used to buy stratagems)

Protip: Change your HUD's curvature amount in the options for more awesomeness.
What does it do?
It curves your ATH. Make you feel like it's displayed on your helmet I guess. As you play 3rd person it's kind of useless!

Ill say this watch where you put the mortar turret it shoots the closet thing so do not use it in close quarters 😅 been killed by it to much

Against a Strider's armor, a continuous laser cannon to the center will destroy it. I think it's due to HEAT maybe.
The guard drone needs to be higher and above the player instead of to the side. Don't know how many times one decided to fly behind me and laze something ahead
Don't feel bad if u have to play on trivial or easy difficulty. Just have fun.

I made the mistake of joining a game at level 1, was a bunch of lvl30's taking on hard mode... This game is an experience
hard mode is more than doable for a level 1 to hop into, don’t stress :)

In that scenario just focus on clearing the chaff and let the other guys focus the beefy boys. Just last night my group (levels 22, 14, and 17) had a level 2 join in on extreme and that's what he did, things went just fine 👍
@@ImpendingApotheosissame my first online was level at 4 and the level 20’s I was with made me feel bad for joining them so I stayed out of their way and tried to be as helpful as possible which I lucky managed to do
This game has finally gave us what we want! No campaign, no story, just full out co-op combat! I hope they do more with this game!

Anyone who’s seen starship troopers knows that a crippled bug is still 78% combat effective.

My best tip is to not play the game with people who have bad situational awareness… 😅
I just enlisted I seen terrible things I seen giant monsters chasing civilians 😅
Should look to immediately rebind the strategem keys so you can keep moving while calling them in otherwise the default binds use the movement keys so you end up stopping.
What are you on about? The button you hold that lets you call them in holds you in place. Rebinding won't do anything
@@roar104 no he Maybe on to something unless it's a bug. Sometimes I've been able to move while calling strategens and other times I'm stuck in place. Not sure why

We were three months into 2017 when Breath of the Wild came out and everyone set it as a GOTY contender. With the stir it is causing on the gaming comunity, why not Helldivers 2?
Seems like fun. Too bad. Just paid $39; was first stuck waiting for a black screen to disappear, next it’s been about 10 min more because the servers are full…..still waiting. Don’t see the trying to connect timer anymore, just a wallpaper screen now. This is great….still nothing.
Laser weapons are extremely underpowered and need a buff asap theyre absolutely useless.

I wish I knew it would crash a lot and I would not be able to find any players, then I would not buy it.. It has Sony logo in the intro, what a shame for such poor quality.. thats not usual for Sony games.
The servers are just overloaded with launch being about a week ago and insane amounts of players

this game was literally the worst game i have ever played. Drop ships coming in ever 10 seconds or less, completely unmanageable
Game is very repetitive. It's fun but come on! Game of the Year?! Lol Fanboys will be fanboys. Just like Days Gone fanboys.
Heres some things i wish i knew - its overhyped bang average with a hard coding problem meaning it cant support more than 450,000 concurrent players - and also hilarious how fantards are ignoring its shameless pay to win and has one of the most laughable battle passes ever made, which is quite a feat in itself.
