Bless your heart! I purchased this a year ago and being an older female with absolutely no experience with tools I could not figure out how to attach the accessories. Lengthy manual provided no help! Would have returned it if I had the time. Thank you for making the one step I needed so simple.

I worked 12 years offshore in the Gulf of Mexico doing I&E work on mostly production platforms and tubing and wiring up new projects. I learned within 12 hours, secure your tools, fittings and attachments. The Big Blue Toolbox of the South is NOT a giver my friends, she's a keeper. I just bought this for 20 bucks and I did the exact same thing. I did not expect this thing to made as good as it is. That's a smart thing to do, but I wish some of the hands we had almost 20 years ago would have had the same train of thought. I could have bought a new friggen truck with the amount of money I lost in tools out there.

I just purchased one. However my tools don't store well in the slots? They move around and don't stay in place.
HF seems to have a quality control problem, my case has issues with a few holes because everytime I open the case, at least one tool is loose in the case, I solved this by getting a 35mm film tube and storing the tools in that - thanks for subscribing!

check the size of the bit - there are 1/8 bits and 3/32 bits, its possible you are using a 3/32 bit with a 1/8 collet - make sure they match - with the collet out of rotary tool, the bits should be slightly tight fit in the collet, if they are not, its probably a mismatch - check that out and reply here if that does not resolve it
I got one of these but the part where you put the thing in is stuck and I can’t unscrew it every time I try the tool basically breaks itself by like going inside out and then I got a fix it again then I try again and then it just does the same thing
can you provide more details on how the tool breaks and what is required to fix it - sound like the motor lock is getting stuck and the chuck is getting compressed and needs expanded, gently of course, they are tough for compression, but not so much for forced expanding - thanks for subscribing!
Is it odd that nothing I try to put in it will stay in it? Like I put bits and they fall out I’ve tried to tighten it but the always fall out
there are multiple collets, 3/32 and 1/8 are the most popular, either try the small collet or get some 1/8 bits, sounds like you have a mismatch - Thanks for subscribing!
Faith I have the same problem. I believe we are not doing something correctly. Either locking it or something else. This is why I got on you tube to find the answer.@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@@tammyhoward777 I really think the problem is the collet, like using 3/32" bits in a 1/8" collect - can you verify you are using a 1/8" bit?
Make sure you are holding the lock
I wish you would have demoed cutting metal with it.

I put on one of mine and it was not straight. I tried wobbling it and it broke in half.
Not sure how much I trust the stock wheels, I'll need to see on a real world application. I think this was just a defective disc but idk.
Just bought one of these. Did not come with the mandrel for the cut off wheels. That’s what I needed it for, to cut metal. Now I have to order mandrels. Crap
you should take it back, it should come with one, rather than buy a mandrel, I recommend buying a set of tools that includes a mandrel - you'll need different bits over time - I have a large collection of bits for rotary tools, so I have spares, I also have multiple rotary tools, and this one is my favorite - Thanks for subscribing
how can i tell the difference between the sanding pads and cutting tool. They all feel the same.
do mean the cutoff disc and the sanding pads? if so, the cutoff wheels are very thin and you use the thin edge to cut(run at highest speed) the sanding drums only scratch the surface no matter how you use them - the sanding pads can be ran out any speed, slow for less aggresive sanding and more control, fast for more aggresive sanding - I personally never to high speed sandin - thanks for subscribing!

Would you know if this tool can be attached and work with the dremel flex shaft?
typically dremel makes a flex shaft specifically for a model, the very end of this model is made to fit the tools made for the 'old' style dremel from the 1990s, it new model will screw on, but I'm not sure the shaft will line up enough to work, you'll just have to try it - I have several flex shaft attachments - you might just get the HF 3 inch grinder with a flex shaft - thanks for subscribing!
I’m just trying to create a slit in a stripped screw head lol iddkkk what attachment to use 🙃 i have other attachments than what came with this set. Don’t wanna lose an eye or anything lol
to make a slit in the screw head, use the cut off wheel, and be careful to not place sideways force on the flat part of the wheel, the wheel is very good at cutting with the edge of the wheel, but will break and shatter if you put force on the flat part of the wheel - so many people have trouble with the cut off wheel I made a video - czcams.com/video/xGJW5kP2eIU/video.html - thanks for subscribing!

I tried to put the asseries in the slots but they were way loose. That is my that is the only thing I have found wrong so far.
there are two sizes of accessories, 1/8 and 3/32, and matching collets, I think you are using a 3/32 bit in a 1/8' collet, either take out the collet and find one with a smaller hole, or find a larger bit for the collet you have in the tool - thanks for subscribing!
Are you meaning when you put them in the tool? Or in the case? In the one I Purchased the bits fit very loosely in the storage area of the case.

would cutting wheels for this be able to cut through .25" stainless steel?
theoretically yes, but you will need to be very patient, and have plenty of heavy duty disc, and not expect a straight cut - a metal cutting bandsaw would be best, and a hacksaw if not a bandsaw - that is not the intended use for these mototools, and would not recommend it - thanks for subscribing!
Hi I was wondering if you used other burrs for this item? It said not to but I really need variety if want to wood carve.
I use many different bits with this tool, I use burrs and diamond points for wood carving and they work out really well, you need to concentrate on control and it will work out just fine

It plugs in to the wall, so ~120v, place to find the price is in the video, at the intro or the summary, but I'm guessing $20, but that has been a while........ they are $25 on HF website right now, and I'm sure I caught them on sale - Thanks for subscribing!
can someone confirm for me, are those stone bits, like the pink ones and the one he puts in here: 3:45 supposed to be used on wood? I've done it a couple times, but something tells me they are better suited for metal?
Those stone bits are intended for metal, bits intended for wood are normally not smooth, those bits are more likely to burn wood

tighten the screw nn the end of the shaft, this will compress the rubber and cause it to bulge out, holding the sanding sleeve on the tool - Thanks for subscribing!
Nice Informative demo. I purchased the same model some years back and within a week the tool was stuck at maximum speed with the speed controller unresponsive. I replaced the triac on the circuit board to no avail. Have you had or heard of this issue?!
I have not seen or heard of that, but the triacs go thru a lot of 'shock' and could have overheated, its basically the same speed controller used in R/C cars/boats, but I also guess a certain number could fail early - that basic design has been used for years in dozens of different tools - surprised it stuck on high after the replacement of the triac, I recommend trying contact clearner on the switch - thanks for subscribing!

don’t buy this . followed all instructions perfectly . Disk cracked and sent it flying straight into by head. luckily i had a hat on and there wasn’t any damage.
did you watch the video? the disks work fine until you put any force on the flat side of the disk, if you do, they will crack into pieces and go flying in all directions, including at your head (skin heals faster then eyes, so glasses are more important than hats) - if you can't keep putting pressure on the flat side of the disk while it spinning, there are thicker disks that do not shatter, but require removal of a lot more material to cut thru something - Thanks for subscribing!
@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews yea i used the disk .. i was using it on plastic To try and get a bracket the perfect shape for a stereo to fit in. The disks where to only issue with the kit. the other items were fine but that’s such a big problem that i wouldn’t recommend someone gets it. i don’t see what the disk could be useful for other than maybe cutting through jelly
@@somesweatymexicanxd2398 - sounds like you got the free discs, and needed the more heavy duty discs - but the little discs work ok if you don't put force on the flat part of the disc, only directly on the cutting edge - I once used a pack of the thin disks to remove the muffer system on a truck - you should watch this video to learn more about the discs - czcams.com/video/xGJW5kP2eIU/video.html - Thanks for subscribing
