If your girlfriend isn't a fan of the Defender styling maybe you should give the Discovery a look. I've owned two D5 Discos. Same platform as Defender but a tad quieter, faster, more economical and tad more luxurious inside. Awesome cars, both the Defender and Disco, but each time I've gone to swap my Disco for a Defender I've gone back to the Disco.
the feeling is you have that defender that not a lot of the road it feels like you drive a defender that it can get some or most people attention good choice

Considering a Defender as my Ski truck SUV. The new Toyota Land Cruiser and 4Runner are the other competitors on my list. Those vehicles not out in Canada yet and the estimated pricing is getting up to the Land Rover $90K!!! Reliability of LR is my biggest worry. Looking at history, the Defender straight 6 engine has been the most reliable and the most common complaints are with the air suspension, speakers and electronic systems. So hopefully Land Rover has indeed improved on this. Really love the styling of the Defender, has a unique and refined presence to it. People often lease these cars to avoid disaster events, but the leasing is very expensive. Got some decisions to make over the next year or so.
You should compare this to a High end Grand Cherokee Summit or overland.
15:49 I test drove a 130 awhile back and there IS a Sport mode; just tilt the gear shifter to the left to engage it.
That transmission lever one must look to make sure you know if you are in reverse or drive. You will never get used to that and be able to use muscle memory.
Hah, I think Steve was implying that’s not the real defender. The Ineos Grenadier is the actual real modern day defender.

Loving what Land Rover did with this new defender. They should go the Toyota route and come up with a simple, less techy, even more rugged defender with the new body. There’s a large market for such trucks that Toyota currently dominates, wouldn’t mind seeing land rovers answer to the Land Cruiser 70 Series

Haven’t had a chance to drive the new GX quite yet. From sitting in it at the auto show I didn’t love the interior, but need to spend more time with one. Will try and schedule one!

That s a good looking car for sure but only fit to be leased. For those prices I get a real SUV like a Tahoe.
There is a trick for the 130 to look better, install the side ladder at the end of the roof rack (you hv to do some modification on the mounting side), it will balance the rear proportion. with some rear-end stickers, it will look as great as the 110.

Wasa good idea to do a "one week with' video but it's went to know how it is long term eg 500 miles 10000.... How is it after 3 years... Do a after 4 years girl.. Labs Rover Rachel Driver 3 doesn't have the best records for reliability..e.h their 2025 RR Sport SV. After 100 miles outside start coming loose according to another CZcamsr
LR does have a good reputation.
