Thomas Shelby is so smart, so calculating, so powerful in the series that everyone underestimates Arthur who is a beast himself. Many times he could have been let out of his cage but maintained self control and when he got mad it was over for the poor soul who screwed with the Peaky Blinders.

Billy boy is absolutely relishing this interaction with Arthur, as is Arthur, neither backs down an inch, Billy boy basically like a Scottish Arthur, except Billy boy is more intelligent, love Arthur to bits, but I reckon he's met his match here, hopefully we'll find out in the movie & final installment of this fantastic show. Amazing actor. Like most, you don’t really appreciate their talent fully until you see them in something else, and they’re entirely different. Some actors keep their own voice and even their mannerisms, true actors though, really get invested in the character they’re portraying, and live it. As an example, I watched a film called The Trench (1999) this week, starring Daniel Craig, (James Bond) playing a war-weary Scouse Sergeant, and a very young, almost unrecognisable, Cillian Murphy, in a WW1 Trench, at The Somme - almost the biographical ‘prequel’ to his life as Thomas Shelby - except he wasn’t a SGT Major in The Trench, I think he played a Royal Fusilier - there were multiple infantry regiments who had platoons interspersed along the front, all waiting to go over the top….. very atmospheric.
