Was the Sydney Opera House made in Sweden?

In the small town of Ekeby in south Sweden, a distinct part of the Sydney Opera House in Australia was made. The Danish architect Jørn Utzon had the factory Skrombergaverken make the specialized tiles for the building exterior. I visit the factory, the museum and the town to find out more.

We love our Opera House and its beautiful Swedish tiles. The tiles are as amazing close up as they look from far away. The tiles are always glimmering in the light. Incredible to see close up.
