@@southernprepper1 as silly as some people might think scenarios are being done by one person or two people I think it's an awesome thing because you get a lot of it and it makes you think outside the box and put you in that situation. There is a scenario on CZcams called survival bug out by the Survival Summit I don't know if y'all have seen it but it's really good and again makes you think. Great job by the way

I'm a new subscriber just happened upon your channel.
I live in a rural area of Alabama. My neighbors are cattlemen, horsemen, and farmers
    Most are former military.
We are using CB radios on sideband at the moment. We have several people in the medical field..we will not be leaving( bugging out) . Most of us have 4x4 pickups and several farm tractors. We also have tractor/trailer drivers with equipment.
We all hunt and fish and some do home canning. We have chickens and everyone has at least one dog.
Solar wells on several properties and pitcher pump wells. And we are all country folk..we will survive.. good luck to you all when SHTF. Be safe.

It's all about timing. People will need to realize what is actually happening and ACT quickly. Power being down nationwide, no phone/internet, ect sould tell you to MOVE fast. Short of a EMP, you should still able to get info from vehicle radios and or small portable VHF/UHF radios. Oh, and having a HAM radio set-up now should be everyones priority IMO......

Excellent video... I have been a HAM for well over 40 years! COMMS are very important in a survival situation!!! I understand that HAM RADIO is not for everyone... GMRS is all most as good for COMMS maybe not world wide but GREAT for local and regional COMMS!!! There are many repeaters o extend your range.NO TEST REQUIRED... just plunk $75.00 at the FCC site and in about 24 to 48 hours you will have your CALLSIGN and license in hand!!! You and your entire family and relatives are covered by your license for 10 years! Many great radios handheld, mobile and base are available at AMAZON...STICK WITH THE NAME BRANDS!!! They are very reasonably priced... GOT COMMS??? YOU BETTER HAVE!!!!!
PS A few handhelds and mobile/base rig have a scramble mode built in where those scrambling modes are legal is up in the air! But remember when you have an a life threatening emergency FCC rules are nonexistent!!! AS PER THE FCC!!!

So if you are calling the chickens home to roost, you should probably say things like getting them to location (insert name here) because if you say we are trying to get you “here” people can figure out where “here” is and wait for your people coming in...

4x4 lifted running 35 nitto ridge grapplers, emp shield on it, 200watts solar on the roof, 400amp hours of sla gel battery (max discharge is 50% on a sla so only 200amp hour max power), fridge/freezer and all. Built it up as an Overland vehicle for recreation and doubles as my shtf vehicle. Actually just put in a new fuel pump, screen and filter 3 days ago. Having a capable offroad vehicle will be key when it hits the fan. I urge people to try overlanding, its good practice for driving offroad on different terrains. You don't need fancy tents mounted to the top of your 4x4. I just threw a mattress in the back of the truck cause it has a fiberglass canopy already. Lots of people use regular ground tents as well.

It’s GMRS . I’m also going to get the rest of my family into the use of radios. I know that GMRS isn’t as great as Ham radio . The thing is GMRS is less intimidating as Ham radio. Also GMRS is repeater capable. With that said I plan on setting up a couple portable simplex repeaters . I won’t set them out till I have to . I will know key locations and I will know how to use them and teach others in my group how to use them on there radios also

Don't need bolt cutters for chain link. Just a pair of lineman's pliers or high-leverage angled-head diagonal cutting pliers. Or cable cutters, since they are also handy for breaking down an animal carcass.
So, need some serious cutters for locks though, but a decent set of lock picks can obviate those as a protective layer. And can scale up for building locks, instead of blowing every doorway one comes across.

No, no, no!!! To each their own, it's up to you, but I saw a comment section the other day of a woman who had been prepping for the last 50 years. Now imagine what she has seen if she lived in most of North America. A handful of blackouts over a day, a few financial downturns, perhaps some hurricanes or tornados, oh and a pandemic. Now if she decided to abandon her preferred life and hunkered down on a homestead on a plot of land in the middle of nowhere, I would consider that a shame. A few days after my son was born, the US went into Kuwait. I being 22 and not all that up on current events was concerned about WWIII. My son is now 30. Since then I have seen flare ups in Russia, the Middle East, all over the world, protests, riots, gas shortages, financial downturns, etc. and they always fizzle out in a short time usually with little to no impact on my life. Now I am a prepper, I have my water storage, water filters, water purification tablets, 6 months of food, a tri fuel 6,500 generator hooked up to my natural gas utility with 8 20lb propane backup tanks, 18,000 BTU MR. Buddy heater, 15,000 BTU Gas One stove, paramedic medical kit, flashlights & batteries out the wazoo, foldable solar panels and so much more. I love prepping, I find it interesting, challenging and fun, but I am a city boy and I will not forgo my preferred life to prep. Whatever happens, happens. I live for life now, not for when disaster strikes, because emergencies will happen, I have no doubt, but an Armageddon SHTF event, I am not holding my breath.

That is why the last prep I will do is to chain my gate closed and pile up trees that are already down for the occasion anywhere they can drive onto the property - with the hills, there are only a few places.

Distances from 20 to several hundred miles, can be a bit problematic with point to point ham radio (not relying in repeaters or any other infrastructure). It can be done though. We practice doing this once in a while. You quickly learn what works and what doesn't.
Greetings from SC, just east of your AO.

I sit on the 7 mile circle of a nuke plant, with 4 or 5 ridges n valleys in between. This is kind of spooky scenario for me , but ive routs planned for evac in place.

LEO radios operate on the same freq's and technology as what your HAM will...Some LEO radios may be on the 800MHz range, but they shouldn't go down and your stay up...except an EMP takes place, then maybe. But...good content overall!

Great vids, keep them coming, also FYI, massive generators and pumps that are designed to be a backup for nuclear plant cooling are located in Memphis, TN and are maintained by Barnhart crane to be distributed by FedEx at the Memphis airport hub in case of emergency. So incase of nuclear plant power failures I'd also keep an eye on Memphis airport.

those police departments just had to switch over to digital and encrypted communications.... Should have just been fine with transparency, why do they care if the public can listen in anyways?

Map on the wall reminded me to say those $24 Delorme county by county maps for your 3 - 4 surrounding states are a necessity

YES, my state maps is useless in TN, everything is in the hills and if you do not know the forest trails - forget it - should not travel on state or federal roads if you can avoid.

SPOT ON!!!!! I think of all these rifle toting civilians standing around waiting to pew pew someone, and really serving no purpose outside security & an extra mouth to feed. As well as the men and woman that say "I'll be useless, I can barely lift or walk." Let this video put things into a different perspective. Get that 1st Aid qualification, get that Amateur's Radio license, learn to Sew or Cook or fix mech/ electrical stuff.
