Hi there! Here's an asmr-ish, overdubbed time-lapse of me creating my Drag Queen of Hearts rug. I chose to hang this rug on my wall. If I were to sell the rug, I would back it with some fabric, but because it's staying in my home, I just sewed some D-ring hooks on the back so I could hang it up 😊
Sorry about the audio quality-I'm new at this but will be getting a microphone soon!

u just saved me from buying $300 shears. cheers
I love this rug very much!😍🤩
I have a question, do the clippers work for loop pile rugs?
This is amazing!!!! I love it. It’s so clean and detailed!
You should definitely make some trippy rug!
hola, gracias por el video, sirve muchísimo... Quiero saber qué tipo de pistola usas, si es de corte o las de bucle???
Loving your videos. Could you do a video on the process you use to transfer your image onto the fabric
I have a video on this! How to prep your frame for tufting :)
I've only done cross stitch fiber crafts before and now I'm 100% wanting to try to make a rug!!! Most likely handpoked (:
Do you need to have a specific length clipper attachment? Or just the razor by itself?
omg i love
What projector do you use? I’m looking for a good one for tufting as well!
I e just binged all your videos, I’m in love!! Ps did you show this to katya??
I tagged her on IG lol but I'm sure she's a busy lady 🙈
New sub.hope you hit your 10k very soon😊😊🥰🇸🇳
And you did it yeahhhhh the queen❤❤❤❤❤❤🇸🇳
so sick
very sick
Watched most of your videos got me pumped to do some when i get my stuff! Curious to know what do you do when you do commissions how do you package your rugs when you mail them out? Will there be a feature video? Plz do lol
This is part of the process I am still learning! Once I get it down, I’d love to make a video 😊
@@AJMAKES137 I’m definitely looking forward to it!!
Hi AJ! Thank you so much for your amazing videos and sharing your knowledge! I am curious about your spool set up to keep the right tension - I know on the video with frame kit you had the spool rig attached to the right of the frame, but for your own bigger frame what solution are you using now?
I'll share more on this soon! But I actually lean the starter kit frame up against my big frame and use the yarn feeder from that. It's hacky but it works!
when using the hair clippers, did u use a certain size/setting? (beautiful rug btw 🥺 I know how much labor goes into these and this is such a phenomenal piece!!!!)
Thank you! I just use them without a guard on and eye ball it
this design is BEAUTIFUL
Where did you get the cloth? I'm trying to find some that covers a larger area like how it covers your frame
How do you finish the edges? I would assume when you cut out the piece from the monk cloth that the yarn wouldn’t completely cover the edges?
Looks amazing! Nice job!!
Hey AJ. I’m new to the world of tufting I just received all my equipment I needed to start making them but I don’t know where to start as of making the designs. Do I have to have a MacBook to make designs? I have a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop.
thank you for making this video! just wondering if you have any tips for getting inexpensive tufting cloth? most monks cloth I see is very expensive
I can't personally speak to using anything other than tufting fabric (which I get from tuftinggun.com). It isn't cheap, but it works perfectly. I often have people reach out to me asking why their gun keeps cutting holes in monks cloth, and I can't help but wonder if it has something to do with the monk's cloth itself. Tufting fabric provides a lot of give in between the threads, which allows the head of the gun to easily move in and out of the fabric. So, it's an expense that is worth it, IMO.
This is good work I want no how can I get this machine
love this rug a lot, i know in a previous video you finished the rug off with felt do you still do this or do you just use the AAT-1132? :)
I usually put backing on my rugs! But because this was hanging on the wall in my own home, I chose to keep the back bare. If I ever sell it, I will likely put some fabric on the back
How loud is the tufting gun? Is it loud enough to disturb neighbors?
Hello I live in France and I find your device really fantastic this is the first time I see it I would have liked to know where can I buy it and how you do to reproduce the design on the fabric is it with an overhead projector thank you
I have another video about this :) "How to prep your frame for tufting"
Hi! I love your videos and I tuft as well. Just curious if you could do a video or talk briefly about how you make sure your yarn feeds through correctly and your setup if you've made one for feeding yarn. The biggest problem and time consumer I have while tufting is that my yarn falls out, or the the change in tautness can make my work uneven. Thanks so much!
Ahhh the struggle!! I’m very familiar with that. It’s probably the most important part of tufting IMO - I think I’ll do a video on this. But in brief, i would recommend getting a yarn winder if possible and creating your own yarn cones. It’s very difficult to feed from bundles because they often snag. Ever since I started using yarn cones, I haven’t had this issue.
How do you determine pricing? If you were to sell this rug in particular, what would you be looking to charge?
How did you start making rugs?
I think it's better than good, it's great.
Just i personally would prefer darker colors
Hi amazing rug!! Was that a cut pile or loop pile gun you used in this video and also do you like cut pile or loop pile rugs better?
cut pile! neither is better or worse, but cut pile is easier to learn in my opinion
I audibly gasped in delight seeing it on the wall. This is so beautiful and you've inspired me to invest in learning how to tuft! My machine is on the way and I'm thrilled to get started. Do you have any hot tips or advice for going into creating the first piece? Thank you for sharing your process and love for this beautiful craft.
Thank you so much 🥺💓 and I’m so glad to hear it!! I plan to make a tips for beginners video soon, so thanks for the encouragement! I’d say start with my other videos-they are very beginner friendly. But my biggest advice is to have a lot of patience and make sure you’re in a good mood and enjoying yourself while learning! It takes time to get it down and I think it’s important to have fun in the process.
@@AJMAKES137 Absolutely. Really looking forward to getting lost in the experience :) I just thought of another question- what type of projector do you recommend?
@@Megan10yes The one I use is linked in my "How to Prep Your Frame for Tufting" video :)
@@AJMAKES137 Awesome, thank you!
that is beautiful and amazing. you are talented
